研究目的
To combine the high spatial resolution of the panchromatic image with the high spectral information of the MS image to produce a fused image that possesses both high spatial and high spectral qualities.
研究成果
Multi-resolution image fusion is a matured problem with several approaches developed over the years. The book discusses image fusion techniques based on edge-preserving filters and image formation models, proposing new methods to overcome some of the existing drawbacks. The use of Gabor prior and extension to super-resolution of natural images are highlighted as forward-looking contributions.
研究不足
The limitations include spectral or color distortion due to the dissimilarity between intensity component and the Pan data, spatial degradation in the fused images due to interpolation, and the requirement for MS and Pan images to be perfectly aligned. Additionally, the computational complexity and implementation issues of certain methods like TV and NLTV regularization are noted.
