摘要: This paper presents design, realization and measurements of a prototype of metasurface antenna radiating a sectoral beam with isoflux envelope. The prototype, developed for data-downlink applications from LEO satellites, is fed by a circular waveguide and can be associated to a turn table mechanism to provide the same Earth coverage as a conical isoflux beam, with the benefit of a higher gain.

Compact polarimetry for automotive applications
摘要: Though compact polarimetric approaches have been developed and applied in space and geo researching systems they have not been taken into consideration in automotive applications, yet. A sensor system has been designed to conduct polarimetric measurements in the 77 GHz frequency band, which is permitted for automotive usage. This system is able to transceive linearly as well as circularly polarized electromagnetic continuous waves. Depending on the case of application, the frequency output can be set statically or modulated over time within adjustable parameters. Hence, a variety of compact polarimetric modes can be performed and compared with full polarimetric approaches. Two compact polarimetric modes, dual-circular polarimetric mode, and circular-transmit-linear-receive, will be introduced and applied in this contribution. Their operability in this frequency range will be investigated after the microstrip antennas as well as the beam focusing dielectrical lense are characterized. Finally, results of a realistical measurement set-up will confirm the practicability of compact polarimetric approaches for double bounce recognition.

摘要: We review the state of the art of slotted waveguide array antenna technology. Design and analysis techniques of slot arrays in standard rectangular waveguides are discussed first. Subsequently slots cut in ridge waveguides, iris excited waveguides, strip lines, radial waveguides and gap waveguides are addressed. Some applications of slot arrays and manufacturing techniques are also briefly reviewed.

摘要: This paper aims to facilitate the macroscopic design of radiation-controlling metasurfaces with the goal of satisfying specific far-field performance criteria rather than a desired field or power patten. The source reconstruction method, a well-developed technique for antenna measurements, is modified to accept a collection of far-field performance criteria. Solving the resulting nonlinear inverse source problem results in a set of electric and magnetic currents that directly relate to tangential fields required for established metasurface design methods. The proposed technique is presented along with a preliminary example demonstrating the capabilities of the basic framework.

摘要: This paper introduces a generalized Pareto ranking bisection algorithm for low-cost multi-objective design optimization of antenna structures. The algorithm allows for identifying a set of Pareto optimal sets of parameters (that represent the best trade-offs between considered objectives) by iterative partitioning of the intervals connecting previously found designs and executing a Pareto-ranking-based poll search. The initial approximation of the Pareto front found using the bisection procedure is subsequently refined to the level of the high-fidelity EM model of the antenna at hand using local optimization. A serious limitation of the original bisection algorithm was that only two objectives could be considered. The generalized version proposed here allows for handling any number of design goals. An improved poll search procedure has also been developed and incorporated. Our algorithm has been demonstrated using an example of a UWB monopole antenna with three figures of interest taken into account: structure size, reflection response, and gain variability.

摘要: An important subsystem of a CubeSat is the communication module where microstrip patch antennas are mostly used. The antenna array presented in this paper is devoted to CubeSat communication systems. This paper includes a new approach based on flower pollination algorithm, FPA, for the antenna angular inset-feed and its depth as well as the antenna radius. The designed antenna is a 2x1 circular patch array operating in the S-band (2-4 GHz). Each element of the antenna was fed by the new angular-inset feed technique recently published. This original technique is more effective than conventional inset feed one and provide a more flexibility to improve the impedance matching of the system. The new FPA metaheuristic is used to optimize the performance of each circular patch in terms of return loss, gain and impedance. Here, this antenna array is fed by a compensated power divider having a good impedance matching. The antenna array was simulated by FEKO electromagnetic software. The return loss obtained near the ISM frequency of 2,45 GHz is -27.9663 dB and the simulated gain reached is 9.06 dB

The Behavior of CPW-Fed Sierpinski Curve Fractal Antenna
摘要: In this paper, the behavior of Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) fed SIERPINSKI curve fractal antenna is studied. The results show that there is a relationship between the iteration number and the resonance frequencies. With increase in the number of iteration the resonance frequency decreases with a constant ratio. The use of fractal structures to design antennas makes them more miniaturized. The simulated results obtained from CADFEKO a Method of Moments (MoM) model based Solver and measurement using Vector Network Analyzer Anritsu MS2026C are in good agreement.
