摘要: This work proposes a method of fracturing one-sided 3D objects, in real time, using standard GPU shaders. Existing implementations include either pre-fracturing objects and replacing them at run-time, or precomputing the fracture patterns and using them to fracture the objects depending on user interaction. In this article we describe a novel method in which the fracturing calculations are handled by the GPU and only having the initial positions of the fracture fields handled by the CPU. To obtain higher resolutions of fractures, scalable tessellation is also implemented. As a result, this method allows for fast fracturing that could be utilized in real-time applications such as videogames.

Scene Acquisition with Multiple 2D and 3D Optical Sensors: A PSO-Based Visibility Optimization
摘要: Designing an acquisition system for 2D or 3D information, based on the integration of data provided by different sensors is a task that requires a labor-intensive initial design phase. Indeed, the definition of the architecture of such acquisition systems needs to start from the identification of the position and orientation of the sensors observing the scene. Their placement is carefully studied to enhance the efficacy of the system. This often coincides with the need to maximize the surfaces observed by the sensors or some other metric. An automatic optimization procedure based on the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, to seek the most convenient setting of multiple optical sensors observing a 3D scene, is proposed. The procedure has been developed to provide a fast and efficient tool for 2D and 3D data acquisition. Three different objective functions of general validity, to be used in future applications, are proposed and described in the text. Various filters are introduced to reduce computational times of the whole procedure. The method is capable of handling occlusions from undesired obstacle in the scene. Finally, the entire method is discussed with reference to 1) the development of a body scanner for the arm-wrist-hand district and 2) the acquisition of an internal environment as case studies.

Due to the proliferation of high-speed networks and cloud computing, cloud gaming has attracted tremendous attentions in both the academia and industry since late 2000’s. In this paper, we survey the latest cloud gaming research from different aspects, spanning over cloud gaming platforms, optimization techniques, and commercial cloud gaming services. The readers will gain the overview of cloud gaming research and get familiar with the recent developments in this area.

摘要: Using projection mapping, we can control the appearance of real-world objects by projecting colored light onto them. Because a projector can only add illumination to the scene, only a limited color gamut can be presented through projection mapping. In this paper we describe how the controllable color gamut can be extended by accounting for human perception and visual illusions. In particular, we induce color constancy to control what color space observers will perceive. In this paper, we explain the concept of our approach, and show first results of our system.

摘要: The article presents methods for computer-aided 3D modeling and simulation of elements of a laser robotic complex. Main approaches to modeling and simulation of a processing tool and mobile equipment (a dual-axis servo positioning device, hereafter referred to as servo positioner), which are part of the laser robotic complex (LRC), are described. Meanwhile, the technological trajectory is represented in the local basis of the model of a product and is located both in an arbitrary point in space and on the servo positioner relative to the world graphic space. The dynamics calculation method for the LRC moving elements in world space is presented. The article describes the way to adjust relative positions of the tool and the servo positioner in the world graphic space taking into account existing equipment.
