[IEEE 2019 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium - IMS 2019 - Boston, MA, USA (2019.6.2-2019.6.7)] 2019 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) - Continuously-Tunable Substrate Integrated Waveguide Bandpass Filter Actuated by Liquid Metal
摘要: An elegant continuously-tunable bandpass ?lter with a wide tuning range based on liquid metal is presented. The ?lter is realized using square substrate integrated waveguide cavity resonators, capacitively loaded with liquid metal posts at the center of the resonators. By changing the height of the liquid metal posts, and hence altering the loading capacitances, the resonant frequencies of the resonators are continuously tuned. To prove the concept, a second order bandpass ?lter is realized and measured. Measurements con?rm the wide range tunability of the ?lter. This demonstrates that liquid-metal, continuous tuning is a promising mechanism for future frequency-agile ?lter applications.

Influence of integrated optical Feedback on tunable Lasers
摘要: In this paper we explain how to use rate equations to describe a laser that includes integrated optical feedback. We find a relation between the threshold current, the voltage drop at the gain section, output power, linewidth, and side mode suppression ratio, and show experimental results.
