Effects of Perpendicular Aryl Groups on Electronic Properties and Complexation of 4,4-Dihydrodithienosilole
摘要: 4,4-Dihydrodithienosilole bearing perpendicular Tip groups at the 3,5-positions (1) was synthesized. Compound 1 was characterized by NMR, IR, and mass spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. The lowest energy absorption band in the UV/Vis spectrum is shifted bathochromically compared with the parent 4,4-dihydrodithienosilole II. The fluorescence quantum yield of 1 is much higher than that of II. The oxidative addition of 1 to Pt(PPh3)2(C2H4) gave the isolable silylplatinum hydride complex 7 in contrast to II and a related compound. These results indicate that the Tip groups affect the electronic properties and complexation.

Direct comparison of dithienosilole and dithienogermole as π-conjugated linkers in photosensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells
摘要: Dithienosilole (DTS) and dithienogermole (DTG) are useful building units of π-conjugated organic materials. In the present work, donor–π-acceptor (D–π-A) dyes with bis(dihexyloxyphenyl)aminophenyl, DTS or DTG, and pyridine or cyanoacrylic acid as the donor (D), the π-conjugated linker (π), and the acceptor (A) units, respectively, were prepared and their optical properties were investigated. The D–π-A dyes exhibited strong absorption in the visible region, indicating efficient intramolecular donor–acceptor interaction. The addition of trifluoroacetic acid to solutions of pyridine-containing dyes led to red-shifts of the absorption bands as a result of pyridinium salt formation. Similar red-shifts were observed for cyanoacrylic acid dyes, which were due to the enhanced formation of neutral dyes relative to the separated ion pairs. The D–π-A dyes, however, showed similar absorption spectra when attached to the TiO2 surface, indicating that the dye–TiO2 electronic interaction was rather weak. In contrast to the finding that these dyes exhibited similar optical properties regardless of the π-linker (i.e., DTS or DTG), dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on DTG-containing dyes exhibited superior performance compared to those based on DTS-containing dyes. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements supported the higher performance of the DSSCs with DTG-containing dyes.

Impact of A‐D‐A Structured Dithienosilole and Phenoxazine based Small Molecular Material for Bulk Heterojunction and Dopant‐free Perovskite Solar Cells
摘要: In this communication, we have designed and synthesized a novel acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) structured small molecule Si-PO-2CN based on dithienosilole (DTS) as building block flanked by electron-rich Phenoxazine (POZ) units terminated with dicyanovinylene which showed unique electrochemical and photo-physical properties. Si-PO-2CN has been successfully employed in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) as well as in bulk hetero-junction organic solar cells (OSCs). The PSCs fabricated with dopant free Si-PO-2CN as hole-transport material (HTM) exhibited a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 14.1% (active area 1.02 cm2). Additionally, PCE of 5.6% has been achieved for OSCs using Si-PO-2CN as p-type donor material when blended with PC71BM acceptor. The versatile application of Si-PO-2CN provides path way for further implementation of DTS based building blocks in solar cells for designing new molecules.
