  • In-situ hydrothermal fabrication of CdS/g-C3N4 nanocomposites for enhanced photocatalytic water splitting

    摘要: In this work, a series of CdS/g-C3N4 nanocomposites with varying wt% CdS were prepared via an in-situ hydrothermal synthesis method. 10 wt% CdS/g-C3N4 nanocomposites displayed the highest rate of hydrogen evolution via photocatalytic water splitting. The H2 evolution rate of 10 wt% CdS/g-C3N4 is 21 times greater than pure g-C3N4 and 4 times greater than that of pure CdS. Key factors responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic activity can be attributed to the improved charge separation and increased surface area of CdS/g-C3N4 nanocomposites. These findings may serve as a platform for the fabrication of other photocatalytic multi-material nanocomposites in the future.

    摘要: CaCO3 is an inorganic substance with low toxicity. Electrical properties of CaCO3 is rarely reported although it has promising potential as biosensor. Therefore it is our aim to provide information on CaCO3 electrical properties. This work described the effect of different distance of metal contact pad and also the effect of light to the electrical conductivity of CaCO3. CaCO3 thin film was prepared at 1.0M by gas diffusion method. From the results, the value of current is not affected by different distance of metal contact pad. Results showed conductivity of CaCO3 thin films were not affected by the presence of light. Therefore CaCO3 thin film conductivity is stable and suitable for wide application and further study such as for biosensor.

  • High frequency electromagnetic energy phenomena in chiral dielectric structures with distributed and localized conductive insertions

    摘要: Chiral dielectric structures with conductive insertions have the tendency to peculiarly concentrate the electromagnetic energy, subject to their specific architecture. The study analyses the associated heating effect at high transmission levels at GHz frequency, for the applications related to electromagnetic shielding. The favorable shielding structure can suffer, in well defined situations, a mechanical stress and/or an acceleration of aging mechanisms.

  • The influence of Ag doping and annealing on phase, structural and carrier transport characteristics of CIS thin films

    摘要: The un-doped and Ag-CIS thin films were deposited on quartz glass substrates by single source thermal evaporation method. Then, some CIS films were annealed in vacuum or N2 atmosphere from 350 °C to 550 °C. The results of XRD patterns showed the phase compositions of CIS thin films were changed with the increase of annealing temperature. Meanwhile, the results of Raman measurement confirmed a dramatic transition from CA phase to CH phase. Furthermore, the Ag atoms could promote the recrystallization process and the transition from CA phase to CH phase, which might result in the improvement of optical-electrical properties of CIS film. The transient photocurrent of the CIS-3 sample annealed at 450 °C was higher than those of other samples, which might be related to the good crystal quality. The results of I-V curves confirmed the N-type conduction of CIS-3 films, which was consistent with the results of EDS measurement. The C-V results of CIS-2 films also were the same as the results of EDS measurement. Furthermore, for the CIS-2 samples, with increase of annealing temperature, the change of conduction type may be related to the S element volatilization under vacuum situation and the decomposition of the substitutional defects AgIn.

  • On the anomaly in the electrical characteristics of thin film transistors with multi-layered sol-gel processed ZnO

    摘要: A set of bottom-gate Zinc Oxide (ZnO) thin film transistors (TFTs) with active layers containing 1, 4 and 8 layers of spin-coated ZnO were fabricated and their electrical characteristics such as transistor transfer and capacitance-voltage characteristics were analyzed. The transconductance of the single-layered ZnO transistor shows a single peak. On the other hand, multiple peaks and humps were observed in the transconductance and capacitance-voltage characteristics of multi-layered ZnO transistors. The multi-layers were grown by reiteration of the spin-coating process, producing ZnO-ZnO interlayer-interfaces. The surface of the ZnO layer in contact with the ambient contains active sites, resulting in chemisorption of ambient gases such as oxygen prior to the deposition of subsequent layers. The chemisorbed species become negatively-charged and form charge sheets, depleting the surface/interface region. It was proposed that the formation of depletion layers at ZnO-ZnO interlayer-interfaces is the main cause for the observed anomaly.

  • Tuning the Cross-Linker Crystallinity of a Stretchable Polymer Semiconductor

    摘要: The cross-linking of conjugated polymers has been demonstrated to be an effective strategy to improve its elastic properties to give deformable semiconductors for plastic electronics. While there have been extensive studies of the structural requirements of the polymer host for good film ductility, no work to date has focused on the relevance of the structural design or chemistry of these cross-linker additives. In this study, urethane groups and tertiary carbon atoms are inserted into the alkyl backbone of perfluorophenyl azide-based cross-linkers to investigate the importance of cross-linker crystallinity with respect to polymer morphology and hence mechanical and electrical properties. Linear cross-linkers with hydrogen bonding from urethane groups readily phase separate and recrystallize in the polymer network to form cross-linked domains that obstruct the strain distribution of the polymer film. Branch cross-linkers with tertiary carbon on the other hand form an evenly cross-linked network in the polymer blend stemming from excellent miscibility and show a 4-fold increase in fracture strain. Furthermore, a stable hole mobility of 0.2 cm2 V?1 s?1 is achieved up to ε = 100%, and a stable hole mobility of 0.1 cm2 V?1 s?1 after 2000 cycles of ε = 25% on fully stretchable organic field-effect transistors.

  • Electrical and optical responses of composite films based on N,N-dimethylamino-4′-N′-methylstilbazolium 2,4,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonate (DSTMS)-graphene

    摘要: N,N-dimethylamino-4′-N′-methylstilbazolium 2,4,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonate (DSTMS)-graphene ex-situ and in-situ composite films with 2% concentration of graphene were first prepared and systematically investigated. The crystallinity of DSTMS-based composite films were confirmed by XRD analysis, and the functional groups of composite films can be obtained by FT-IR. Optical absorptions were recorded using UV–Vis-NIR spectral analysis, and the band gap and extinction coefficient of the films were calculated. The thermal stability of the composite films were analyzed by TG/DSC. The pressure sensitive resistance test showed that the pressure sensitive signal of the composite films were significantly increased after graphene added, while the signal of DSTMS film eventually disappears. This work expands the application of organic nonlinear crystal DSTMS in optics and electricity by doping graphene.

  • Efficiency enhancement of Cu(In,Ga)Se <sub/>2</sub> thin film solar cells by employing onmi-directional ZnO nanostructure with MgF <sub/>2</sub> anti-reflection-coating layer

    摘要: An omni-directional, graded-index, and textured ZnO nanorods (n = 1.7-2.0) with MgF2 (n = 1.37) antireflection (AR)-coating layer for Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells grown by hydrothermal method are presented. We achieve that the graded index structure can reduce a weighted global reflectance of 5.5%, and significantly improve a current density (JSC) of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells up to 32.3 mA/cm2 which is comparable to a general MgF2 single layer AR coating. Optimized AR-coating layer leads to decreasing Fresnel reflection by gradient refractive index between ZnO nanorods and air. According to our experiment results, ZnO nanostructure with MgF2 AR-coating layer can be used for various photovoltaic cells to enhance the light conversion efficiency.

  • Electrical and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) shielding properties of hexagonal boron nitride nanoparticles reinforced polyvinylidene fluoride nanocomposite films

    摘要: The hexagonal boron nitride nanoparticles (h-BNNPs) reinforced flexible polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanocomposite films were prepared via a simple and versatile solution casting method. The morphological, thermal and electrical properties of h-BNNPs/PVDF nanocomposite films were elucidated. The electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding properties of prepared nanocomposite films were investigated in the X-band frequency regime (8–12 GHz). The EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) was increased from 1 dB for the PVDF film to 11.21 dB for the h-BNNPs/PVDF nanocomposite film containing 25 wt% h-BNNPs loading. The results suggest that h-BNNPs/PVDF nanocomposite films can be used as lightweight and low-cost EMI shielding materials.

  • Transparent Conductive Materials (Materials, Synthesis, Characterization, Applications) || Characterizations of Electrical Properties by the van der Pauw Method

    摘要: The van der Pauw method is one of the most utilized techniques for measuring electrical properties of various materials, and it is also effective for characterizations of the transparent conductive materials. The method was developed by van der Pauw for measuring resistivity and Hall effect of samples having arbitrary shapes. The samples have to be flat though the shapes are arbitrary, and electrical contacts mounted on them should be sufficiently small and located at the circumference of them. In addition, the samples should not have isolated holes in them.
