Nanostructuring of honeycomb-like polystyrene with excimer laser
摘要: This paper is aimed on the construction of honeycomb like patterns (HCP) with defined dimensions of pores on activated solid-state substrate. Dip coating technique with improved phase separation was used for pattern preparation, subsequent nanostructuring was realized with an excimer laser. Polystyrene patterns were prepared on perfluorethylenepropylene, which were subsequently treated with laser wavelength 248 nm. The main goal was to prepare honeycomb like pattern and by interaction of such microstructure with an excimer laser to prepare superposed structure. This idea was fully fulfilled, uniform micropattern on perfluorinated polymer was prepared, with several laser fluences and number of pulses to be tested subsequently. Optimal conditions of KrF exposure were determined to be 6000 pulses and interval of laser treatment from 8 to 16 mJ.cm?2, by this combination of input parameters a superposed globular nanostructure was constructed on honeycomb-like polystyrene microstructure. Surface wettability, morphology and chemistry of nanopatterned microstructures were changed significantly, oxygen concentration of treated substrates was significantly increased. Particular stages of globular pattern formation were studied and described in detail by atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, EDS/EDX and XPS analysis. Elemental mapping was applied for detailed analysis of prepared superposed pattern.

Luminescent Radical-Excimer: Excited-State Dynamics of Luminescent Radical in the Doped Host Crystals
摘要: The excited dynamics of a photostable luminescent organic radical (PyBTM) doped in the host crystal was investigated by using the optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) time-resolved emission spectroscopies. In the radical system, the unpaired electron can be used as the probe for the electronic-state and the dynamics. The mixed crystal with high concentration of the radical showed excimer emission, together with the monomer emission. The ODMR signals were observed with opposite signs for monitoring the monomer and the excimer emissions. Based on their temperature and concentration dependencies, the excited-state dynamics on the doped crystal and the mechanism of the excimer formation and the ODMR signal generation are discussed with the help of the quantum mechanical simulation of the excited-state spin dynamics. The initial process of excimer formation has been clarified for the first time from the viewpoint of the spin-dynamics.

Efficacy and safety of 308-nm excimer lamp in the treatment of scalp psoriasis: a retrospective study
摘要: Background: Scalp psoriasis is a major therapeutic challenge due to the hindrance caused by hair. Treatment with the 308-nm excimer lamp is purported to provide many benefits over conventional phototherapy. This retrospective study evaluates the efficacy, safety, and effective dosage of 308-nm excimer light in the treatment of scalp psoriasis. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with scalp psoriasis who received treatment with 308-nm excimer light. Clinical and epidemiological data as well as details regarding treatment were statistically analyzed to determine the treatment outcomes. Results: Twenty patients with scalp psoriasis were included in the study. Their mean age was 47.45 ± 17.93 years. Eleven patients responded to treatment at the end of 10 sessions. The median baseline Psoriatic Scalp Severity Index (PSSI) was 12 (range, 3-32). At the end of the protocol, the median PSSI was 4.5 (range, 0-24), indicating a statistically significant reduction (P<0.001). Common adverse effects included erythema, irritation, and desquamation. Conclusion: The 308-nm excimer light appears to be an effective and safe modality that requires short treatment time. The modality could be considered as an alternative or adjuvant treatment for scalp psoriasis.

Mechanochromism induced through the interplay between excimer reaction and excited state intramolecular proton transfer
摘要: Excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) and excimer formation are unimolecular and bimolecular reactions, respectively. The coupling between these two reactions has been rarely observed. Here we show the interplay between ESIPT and excimer formation in CF3-HTTH (2,2′-(thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole-2,5-diyl)bis(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenol) solid crystal, resulting in the extensively broad multiple emissions spanning from 420 to 750 nm. Comprehensive structural, time-resolved spectroscopic, and two-photon microscopic studies of CF3-HTTH in crystal lattice unveil the pre-equilibrium ESIPT between the normal (N*) and tautomer (T*) form, for which the slow population decay and well-ordered lattice packing facilitate excimeric (E*) formation, rendering N* (460 nm), T* (520 nm) and E* (600 nm) triple emissions. In contrast, the lower degree of packing on the solid surface prohibits excimer formation, showing only the ESIPT process. The correlation between luminescence properties and packing structure sheds light on the corresponding mechanochromic effect based on molecular solid architecture and provide new insight into the aggregation-induced properties.

We established the indications, procedural characteristics, complications, and outcomes of ELCA in a contemporary coronary interventional practice.

Excimer laser annealing method for achieving low electrical resistivity and high work function in transparent conductive amorphous In2O3:Zn films on a polyethylene terephthalate substrate
摘要: We have developed an excimer laser annealing method to achieve low electrical resistivity (ρ) and a high work function in amorphous In2O3:Zn (IZO) films on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates. The effect of excimer laser irradiation of the films on crack formation, electrical properties (ρ, carrier concentration, and Hall mobility), and work function were investigated. KrF excimer laser irradiation produced cracks in the surface of the IZO films on PET as a result of thermal expansion of the PET substrate. By inserting an amorphous SiO2 layer as a heat barrier between the IZO layer and PET substrate, crack formation was prevented. Moreover, it was found that the work function of IZO film could be controlled by the laser fluence and repetition rate. Irradiation of a 150-nm-thick amorphous IZO film on a SiO2-coated PET substrate achieved a low ρ of 3.55 × 10?4 Ω cm and a high work function of 5.4 eV due to the reduction of oxygen and carbon while maintaining a flat surface.

Nanosecond laser-induced surface damage and its mechanism of CaF2 optical window at 248a??nm KrF excimer laser
摘要: Calcium fluoride (CaF2) crystals is a kind of important optical material for ultraviolet (UV) and deep-ultraviolet (DUV) lithography and high-power laser-related applications. However, its laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) directly affects the laser power, so that the above-mentioned applications could be limited. Therefore, the research on the damage characteristics and laser damage resistance of caf2 crystals is urgent. A 3D Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method with Maxwell spinor equation is used, and the results show that the electric field intensity of rear surface is larger than that of front surface, which causes a lower threshold and is consistent with the experimental observations. And a thermo-mechanical coupled finite element model (FEM) of CaF2 with ce2o3 impurities, which are introduced by polishing process, has semiquantitatively described the damage mechanism of CaF2 by 248 nm-excimer laser.

Laser induced ultrafast combustion synthesis of solution-based AlO <sub/>x</sub> for thin film transistors
摘要: Solution processing of amorphous metal oxides using excimer laser annealing (ELA) has been lately used as a viable option to implement large-area electronics, offering high quality materials at a reduced associated cost and process time. However, the research has been focused on semiconductor and transparent conductive oxide layers rather than on the insulator layer. In this work we present amorphous aluminum oxide (AlOx) thin films produced at low temperature (≤150 °C) via combustion synthesis triggered by ELA, for oxide thin film transistors (TFTs) suitable for manufacturing flexible electronics. The study showed that combining ELA and combustion synthesis leads to an improvement in the dielectric thin film’s densification in a shorter time (≤15 min). Optimized dielectric layers were obtained combining a short drying cycle at 150 °C followed by ELA treatment. High breakdown voltage (4 MV cm?1) and optimal dielectric constant (9) was attained. In general, TFT devices comprising the AlOx fabricated with a drying cycle of 15 min followed by ELA presented great TFT properties, a high saturation mobility (20.4 ± 0.9 cm2 V?1 s?1), a small subthreshold slope (0.10 ± 0.01 V dec?1) and a turn-on voltage ≈0 V. ELA is shown to provide excellent quality solution-based high-k AlOx dielectric, that surpass other methods, like hot plate annealing and deep ultraviolet (DUV) curing. The results achieved are promising and expected to be of high value to the printed electronic industry due to the ultra-fast film densification and the surface/area selective nature of ELA.

Selective fluorescence sensing of H <sub/>2</sub> PO <sub/>4</sub><sup>a??</sup> by the anion induced formation of self-assembled supramolecular polymers
摘要: The utilization of anions to induce the formation of self-assembled supramolecular polymers in solution is an undeveloped area of host–guest chemistry. We report in this manuscript a comparative study of two tripodal anion receptors by hydrogen or halogen bonding interactions to form self-assembled supramolecular structures induced by the presence of anions. DOSY NMR and DLS experiments provided evidence for the formation of supramolecular structures in solution in both halogen and hydrogen bond donors with H2PO4? anions. The nucleation and elongation constants obtained using the thermodynamic model indicate that the polymers grow following an isodesmic mechanism. Emission studies demonstrate that only the formation of the supramolecular polymer between the halogen bond donor receptor and H2PO4? anions results in the appearance of the excimer emission band.

A comparative clinical trial to evaluate efficacy and safety of the 308‐nm excimer laser and the gain‐switched 311‐nm titanium:sapphire laser in the treatment of vitiligo
摘要: Background/purpose: Ultraviolet B (UVB) laser irradiation in a targeted manner is a reasonable treatment option for localized vitiligo. Recently, narrow‐band UVB gain‐switched 311‐nm titanium:sapphire lasers (TSL) were developed for the treatment of localized vitiligo. We aimed to compare efficacy, patient satisfaction, and safety between the conventional 308‐nm excimer laser (EL) and gain‐switched 311‐nm TSL in patients with vitiligo. Methods: The 13‐paired lesions from 10 patients who had small vitiligo patches were included in this prospective intra‐patient comparison trial. Each pair was randomly assigned to each laser treatment group and treated twice weekly for 12 weeks. The global photographic assessments by dermatologists, objective numerical assessments by imaging analyzer, and patient's satisfaction were used to evaluate the effectiveness. Adverse effects were also investigated at every visit. Results: All treated lesions showed improvement of about 50% after 12 weeks. There was no significant difference between EL‐ and TSL‐treated groups. Patient satisfaction and preference among the groups were also similar. Regarding safety, there were no serious adverse effects requiring cessation of the treatments; however, the severity score for persistent erythema (lasting >24 hours) was significantly lower in the TSL group than in the EL group. Conclusions: The gain‐switched 311‐nm TSL exhibited similar efficacy to the 308‐nm EL in treating vitiligo as well as improved safety. Therefore, the 311‐nm TSL is considered as a candidate device to replace the EL as a new and promising treatment option for localized vitiligo.
