摘要: Natural ecosystems exhibit complex dynamics of interacting species. Man-made ecosystems exhibit similar dynamics and, in the case of mobile app stores, can be said to perform optimization as developers seek to maximize app downloads. This work aims to understand stability and instability within app store dynamics and how it affects ?tness. The investigation is carried out with AppEco, a model of the iOS App Store, which was extended for this paper and updated to model the store from 2008 to 2014. AppEco models apps containing features, developers who build the apps, users who download apps according to their preferences, and an app store that presents apps to the users. It also models developers who use commonly observed strategies to build their apps: innovator, milker, optimizer, copycat, and ?exible (the ability to choose any strategy). Results show that despite the success of the copycat strategy, there is a clear stable state for low proportion of copycats in developer populations, mirroring results in theoretical biology for producer–scrounger systems. The results also show that the best ?tness is achieved when the evolutionary optimizer (as producer) and copycat (as scrounger) strategies coexist together in stable proportions.

Distortion minimization of laser beam welded components by the use of finite element simulation and Artificial Intelligence
摘要: Welded components often require costly efforts to compensate for the thermally induced distortions. This is usually done by applying a specific pre-deformation or by reworking, for example by thermal straightening. These approaches are not practicable for joining complex structures. Therefore, a method that is capable of minimizing the distortions of a complex frame structure with multiple welds is presented. A meta-model by means of an Artificial Neural Network is used to predict the local distortions depending on the welding parameters within sub-areas. A genetic algorithm is utilized to efficiently find suitable welding parameters for the global structure. It could be shown that by applying the method, distortion minimized parameters from more than one billion potential parameter combinations are identified both efficiently and reliably.

摘要: This paper presents an approach for photo-voltaic based DG allocation in distribution networks. The objective of the proposed approach is to minimize the developer’s investment cost associated with energy supply requirements over predefined planning period. Uncertainties associated with supply and demand are considered in this work, as well as, the uncertainty associated with energy prices. In addition, this work introduces smart curtailment of renewable resources, which can maximize the penetration and minimize the overall investment. Simulation results on a typical distribution network are provided, which prove the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed resource allocation approach.
