  • Comprehensive Understanding and Controlling the Defect Structures: An Effective Approach for Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Perovskite-Based Solar-Cell Application

    摘要: Understanding the defect structure in organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite material (OHP) is a crucial role to explain several physical properties such as material stability, energy band, carrier mobility, and so on. In the solar-cell applications using OHP, finding, understanding, and controlling defects is essential to making a more advanced device with high efficiency and stability. Naturally, we need to find, understand, and control the possible defects in OHP. However, the defect research field in OHP material is just beginning now. In this short review, we will explore the kinds of defects and their effects on OHP.

  • SparseCast: Hybrid Digital-Analog Wireless Image Transmission Exploiting Frequency Domain Sparsity

    摘要: A hybrid digital-analog wireless image transmission scheme, called SparseCast, is introduced, which provides graceful degradation with channel quality. SparseCast achieves improved end-to-end reconstruction quality while reducing the bandwidth requirement by exploiting frequency domain sparsity through compressed sensing. The proposed algorithm produces a linear relationship between the channel signal-to-noise ratio (CSNR) and peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), without requiring the channel state knowledge at the transmitter. This is particularly attractive when transmitting to multiple receivers or over unknown time-varying channels, as the receiver PSNR depends on the experienced channel quality, and is not bottlenecked by the worst channel. SparseCast is benchmarked against two alternative algorithms: SoftCast and BCS-SPL. Our findings show that the proposed algorithm outperforms SoftCast by approximately 3.1 dB and BCS-SPL by 14.8 dB.

  • One-step Series Production of Hybrid Components with Visible Surfaces

    摘要: Using a center armrest as an example, Krauss Maffei is presenting the first series application of the Fiberform process synchronized with a swivel plate injection molding machine. Processing organo sheets and over-molding a thermoplastic elastomer in one production step reduces the costs and weight of the component and is ideal for visible components.

  • Soluble and insoluble polymer-inorganic systems based on poly(methyl methacrylate), modified with ZrO2-LnO1.5 (Ln = Eu, Tb) nanoparticles: Comparison of their photoluminescence

    摘要: The study of the lanthanide ion luminescence as a function of their environment in polymer-inorganic composites is necessary for better understanding of the electron energy transfer processes in a condensed state. From a practical point of view, these materials are promising for optics and medicine. The nanoparticles of ZrO2-LnO1.5 (Ln = Eu, Tb) solid solutions were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The surface functionalization of the obtained nanoparticles by vinyl groups was carried out using 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate. Soluble and cross-linked composites based on poly(methyl methacrylate) with ZrO2-LnO1.5 nanoparticles were synthesized using radical polymerization in solution and bulk. Molecular weight, thermal stability, and microhardness of the obtained composite materials were determined. The influence of both the polymerization conditions and the forming composite structure on the lanthanide ion photoluminescence in ZrO2 nanoparticles covalently bonded to the polymer matrix was studied. The combination of ZrO2-EuO1.5 and ZrO2-TbO1.5 nanoparticles in the poly(methyl methacrylate) resulted in the production of composites with photoluminescence spectra overlapping the red and green regions of the visible range. It was shown that the structure of the composite affects the absorbing capacity of luminescent centers and allows shifting the excitation spectrum in the longer wavelength region.

  • Preparation and Comparison of Hybridized WO3-V2O5 Nanocomposites Electrochemical Supercapacitor performance in KOH and H2SO4 Electrolyte

    摘要: The rod shape WO3-V2O5 hybrid nanocomposites were prepared by microwave assisted wet chemical route. The electrochemical investigations of as-prepared composites were carried in two electrolytes such as KOH and H2SO4 for comparison. Their maximum capacitance was calculated as 44 F/g for WO3 and 173 F/g for WO3-V2O5 composites in KOH electrolyte and its efficiency is 100 % up to 5000 cycles and its capacitance retention is 126% in KOH electrolyte. In H2SO4 electrolyte, the specific capacitance of WO3 was recorded as 246 F/g and WO3-V2O5 showed poor performance such as less than 12 F/g.

  • 3D graphene aerogels/Sb2WO6 hybrid with enhanced photocatalytic activity under UV- and visible-light irradiation

    摘要: A novel ultraviolet (UV)- and visible-light-active 3D graphene aerogels (3DGA)/Sb2WO6 hybrid photocatalyst was prepared by electrostatic self-assembly (ESSA) method. The photocatalytic activity of the 3DGA/Sb2WO6 hybrid was studied by monitoring the change in the concentration of methyl orange (MO) under UV-light and visible-light irradiation. The results demonstrated that the as-prepared hybrid exhibited significantly enhanced efficiency for the photodegradation of MO in comparison with pure Sb2WO6. This was ascribed to the efficient separation of the photogenerated electrons (e–) and holes (h+) with the aid of 3DGA as well as the generated reactive superoxide radical anions (O2(cid:129)–). Moreover, the 3DGA/Sb2WO6 hybrid exhibited high recyclability, because the highly hydrophobic 3DGA in the hybrid was very advantageous to the separation of the hybrid photocatalyst from the MO solutions.

  • Blue-emitting Photostable Hybrid Films for High-efficiency Large-area Light Converter and Photonic Applications

    摘要: A blue fluorophore of Schiff base zinc complex is prepared by a hydrolysis-free solution-based synthetic method. Under UV excitation, the complex produces blue emission with a quantum yield (Q) of 42.6% in methylene chloride and 24.0% in standalone powder form. Quantum mechanical calculations show that the blue emission is generated by the change in the chemical state of the ligand associated with the complexation with Zn cations. Thin films of Zn complexes incorporated in polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) polymers are also prepared by dispersing the complexes into the polymer matrices. These hybrid polymer films exhibit several notable features, particularly enhanced luminescence efficiency (with maximum Q of 85.8% for PMMA and 30.0% for CAB) and scalability for fabrication over a large area while retaining the original properties of the host polymers. Light-emitting diodes are also fabricated using the CAB hybrid thin films, and they show a Q of 43.2% with excellent photostability. The complex and its hybrid films demonstrate their great potential for such applications as UV-to-blue conversion devices in photoelectronics, solar-cell concentrators, solid-state lighting and display, and green-house agriculture.

  • Outage and BER performances of indoor relay-assisted hybrid RF/VLC systems

    摘要: In this study, the authors analyse the outage performance of the indoor relay-assisted hybrid radio frequency (RF)/visible light communication (VLC) systems. They derive closed-form expressions for the outage probability of the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio. Then they obtain the optimal approximation parameter with optimising the outage probability using the differential evolution algorithm. Moreover, they analysed the average bit error rate (BER) performance of the hybrid RF/optical system using pulse position modulation method while assuming the timing error in synchronisation. Finally, they present some numerical results utilising the newly derived exact closed-form expressions.

  • The optical response of self-organized Ag-CdTe metal-semiconductor hybrid nanostructures: Change in interaction vs number density variation

    摘要: Using experimental results and a theoretical model, we establish a relation for the optical response of a mixed nanocolloid. We show that colloids prepared by mixing metal and semiconductor nanocolloids in various ratios result in a mixture composed of a particular metal-semiconductor hybrid nanostructure and unattached original particles. Thus, the properties of hybrid samples prepared by such self-organized growth are decided by the variation in number density of the hybrid and the unattached particles and not due to a continuous change in the interaction between metal nanoparticles and semiconductor quantum dots as was assumed earlier. Using these results, a method to prepare a single type of hybrid nanostructure by measuring only its optical response is presented.

  • Optimization of synthesis condition of water-resistant and thin titanium oxide layer-coated Ni-rich layered cathode materials and their cathode performance

    摘要: In this study, in order to develop water-resistant LiNiaCobAl1?a?bO2 (a > 0.85, NCA) cathode materials which exhibit high-rate performance, the surface coating of NCA with titanium oxide (TiOx) was examined. The synthesis conditions for the TiOx-coated NCA cathode materials were investigated, by taking into account some essential factors in the surface coating of NCA by TiOx, with a view to improving the rate performance. We successfully prepared the TiOx-coated NCA cathode material, the rate performance of which is superior to that of the conventionally prepared NCA cathode materials, typically using a polyvinylidene difluoride (PVdF) binder and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) solvent. Their surface analysis suggested that the specific surface structure of TiOx layer coated on the NCA particle leads to both a water-resistant property and a high permeability of Li+ ions through it in the charging/discharging process.
