    摘要: LED lighting is found universal acceptance for being affordable and energy ef?cient. The next big step for LED lighting is enabling LED ?xtures to work in Internet-of- Things (IoT) infrastructure. Power-over-Ethernet(PoE) standard delivers power and data via a Ethernet cable from a power source such as a hub directly to the network port of a connected powered device, in the case of lighting the powered device can be a LED bulb.In this paper the concept of energy ef?cient LED lighting using PoE technology is discussed in brief.The bene?ts PoE technology provides and challenges that needs to be addressed are highlighted.

  • Thermal Assessment of Laminar Flow Liquid Cooling Blocks for LED Circuit Boards Used in Automotive Headlight Assemblies

    摘要: This research work presents a comparative thermal performance assessment of the laminar flow cooling blocks produced for automotive headlight assembly using a high power Light Emitting Diode (LED) chip. A three-dimensional numerical model with conjugate heat transfer in solid and fluid domains was used. Laminar flow was considered in the present analysis. The validation of the numerical model was realized by using the measured data from the test rig. It was observed that substantial temperature variations were occurred around the LED chip owing to volumetric heat generation. The cooling board with lower height performs better thermal performance but higher pressure drop for the same mass flow rates. The cooling board with the finned cover plate performs better thermal performance but results in an increased pressure drop for the same mass flow rates. Increasing the power of the LED results in higher temperature values for the same mass flow rates. The junction temperature is highly dependent on the mass flow rates and LED power. It can be controlled by means of the mass flow rate of the coolant fluid. New Nusselt number correlations are proposed for laminar flow mini-channel liquid cooling block applications.

    摘要: The three primary-color LED light source modules produce a color within the gamut space by the Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) duty cycle. In a host control multiple LED module system, due to the specificity of the three primary-color LED light sources, different light source modules cannot generate the same target color coordinates according to the same set of duty ratio data, thereby causing a color inconsistency in each light source. This paper proposes an algorithm for personalizing the Red-Green-Blue (RGB) values by using the three primary-color coordinates obtained by feedbacks. Through extensive experiments, the algorithm can effectively reduce the color difference produced by different LED lamp beads. The algorithm has a small amount of calculation and can be easily implemented in practical devices.

    摘要: We have proposed an information acquisition method with detecting the reflector code on roadside by using infrared laser radar. The infrared laser radar on vehicle scans the reflector code on roadside while traveling. However, we cannot change the code pattern according to the use case. Hence, we propose a code change method by switching infrared LED. Through some experiments, we show that the vehicle can obtain different information from roadside according to the use case.

  • Higha??efficiency quantum dot lighta??emitting diodes with blue cadmiuma??free quantum dots

    摘要: We report outstanding electroluminescence properties of high-efficiency blue cadmium-free quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QD-LED). External quantum efficiency (EQE) of 14.7% was achieved for QD-LED emitting at 428 nm. Furthermore, we developed high-efficiency and narrow wavelength emission zinc selenide (ZnSe) nanocrystals emitting at 445 nm and achieved QD-LED with an EQE of 10.7%. These new QDs have great potential to be used in next-generation QD-LED display with wide color gamut.

  • THE EFFECTS OF CONTINUOUS LIGHTING (CL) METHOD ON THE GROWTH DEVELOPMENT OF BRASSICA CHINENSIS FOR LED PLANT FACTORY IN WSN APPLICATION

    摘要: This study was performed to investigate the best practise on using LED light for optimum growth of Brassica Chinensis and reduce turn around time at different kind of photoperiod study utilizing Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technology as remote monitoring system. Growth performance of Brassica Chinensis under two different wavelengths (blue and red) 16:4 as light source has been used to determine plant growth performance and phytochemicals aspect of plant characteristics. Two experiments were conducted which is the pulse treatment (1 hour light and 1 hour dark) and continuous light (CL) photoperiod treatment in both trials. Observation such as leaves count, height, dry weight and chlorophy I & ll of both plants were analysed. It was noted that the CL photoperiod has significant effect on overall growth performance and remarkably lead to improve the efficiency of the plant factory. In order to reason on data and monitor the environmental parameters of the plant factory, an intelligent system using embedded system has been developed to automate the LED control and manipulation. The result shows that the system is stable and has referential significantly in the area of plant factory or indoor farming system.

  • Photobiomodulation of human osteoblasta??like cells <i>in vitro</i> by lowa??intensity pulsed LED light

    摘要: Visible light irradiation is an emerging area in regenerative medicine research. We hypothesized that low intensity pulsed LED light irradiance may exert photobiomodulatory effects on cultured osteoblast-like cells. To test this hypothesis, we investigated cell proliferation and markers of cell maturation and metabolic activity following pulsed LED irradiance. Monolayer explant cultures of human osteoblast-like cells were exposed four times in 24-hour intervals to 2 minutes of pulsed white LED irradiance of 2.4-2.5 mW/cm2 and its different spectra of 0.2-0.5 mW/cm2 (frequency range of 10-40 Hz). Cell proliferation was estimated from microscopic cell counting and cell death by lactate dehydrogenase activity in culture media (measured by a colorimetric method). The early markers of osteoblast maturation and metabolic activity, i.e. cellular alkaline phosphatase activity and osteocalcin content, were measured using a colorimetric method and ELISA, respectively. Irradiance of 40 Hz caused the highest increase in cell number (p<0.01). Osteocalcin content in cells decreased following 40 Hz and 10 Hz irradiance (p<0.05). The 40 Hz blue range irradiance (diffuse transmittance 420-580 nm, maximal cell irradiance 0.5 mW/cm2) caused a decrease in alkaline phosphatase cellular activity (p<0.001) and an increase in media osteocalcin content (p<0.05). The 40 Hz green range (diffuse transmittance 560-650 nm, maximal cell irradiance 0.4 mW/cm2) irradiance caused an increase in the number of cells and in cell death. In summary, pulsed (40 Hz) white light irradiance has photomodulatory effects, with its green range spectrum affecting cell proliferation and cell death, and its blue range spectrum affecting cellular maturation and metabolism. The results indicate a low intensity threshold of photobiomodulation of osteoblast-like cells in vitro.

  • A Novel Highly Efficient Hosta??Sensitized Red Emitting (Ba <sub/>2</sub> YV <sub/>3</sub> O <sub/>11</sub> a??:a??Eu <sup>3+</sup> ) Phosphor for Hybrid White LEDs

    摘要: The present investigation focused on the sequence of Eu3 + activated red-emitting vanadate phosphor for the high performance white LEDs. The blue emitting host lattice (Ba2YV3O11) and red emitting Ba2YV3O11 : Eu3 + phosphors were synthesized by the conventional solid-state method and studied their optical properties in details. The host lattice and Eu3 + activated red phosphors were crystallized in the monoclinic crystal system. The Ba2YV3O11 emission was found in the bluish-green region (444 and 512 nm, which corresponds to the 3T2!1A1 and 3T1!1A1 transitions), and the Eu3 + activated phosphors (Ba2Y1-xEuxV3O11, x = 0-1, insteps of 0.1) display intense red emission at 618 nm due to the 5D0!7F2 electric dipole (ED) transition. The concentration quenching was observed at x = 0.6, the detailed energy transfer mechanism was also explored. Thermal stability of the Ba2Y0.4Eu0.6V3O11 red phosphor retains the ~ 60 % emission intensity at 423 K, and the internal quantum efficiency (IQE) was found to be 30 %. The red and white LEDs were fabricated by using the synthesized red phosphor with the combination of near UV LED (n-UV), the white LED showed white emission with CIE is x = 0.359; y = 0.395; higher CRI (89) and low CCT (4693 K) values. These results prescribe that the presently synthesized phosphor can act as a suitable red-emitting component in hybrid white LEDs.

  • Perovskite Photovoltaics on Roll-To-Roll Coated Ultra-thin Glass as Flexible High-Efficiency Indoor Power Generators

    摘要: Indoor perovskite photovoltaics can help power the internet of things revolution, being highly ef?cient, low-cost, printable, and compatible with ?exible substrates. Castro-Hermosa et al. develop ?exible perovskite cells on roll-to-roll coated ultra-thin glass with excellent optoelectrical and mechanical properties, delivering ef?ciencies of 20.6%–22.6% under 200–400 lx LED illumination.
