  • A bipolar deep blue-emitting fluorescent material based on imidazole and triphenylamine for efficient non-doped OLEDs

    摘要: A bipolar deep blue-emitting fluorescent material, 1-(4-tert-butyl phenyl)-2-[4-(N,N- diphenyl)phenyl]-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole (TPA-PIM) has been designed and synthesized for efficient blue organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The photophysical, thermal and electrochemical properties of TPA-PIM are investigated. TPA-PIM possesses high thermal stabilities with decomposition temperature of 396 °C and shows a strong deep-blue emission at 407 nm in N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) solution. Single-carrier devices are fabricated to show that TPA-PIM has good bipolar characteristics. The non-doped fluorescent OLEDs using TPA-PIM as emitter exhibited stable and efficient deep-blue emissions with the CIE coordinates of (0.16, 0.09), the maximum luminance of 1392 cd m?2 and the maximum current efficiency of 2.60 cd A?1.

  • Metallacycle-Cored Supramolecular Polymers: Fluorescence Tuning by Variation of Substituents

    摘要: Herein, we present a method for the preparation of supramolecular polymers with tunable fluorescence via the combination of metal-ligand coordination and phenanthrene-21-crown-7(P21C7)-based host-guest interaction. A suite of rhomboidal metallacycles with different substituents were prepared via the coordination-driven self-assembly of a P21C7-based 60° diplatinum (II) acceptor and 120° dipyridyl donors. By the variation of the substituents on the dipyridyl donors, the metallacycles exhibit emission wavelengths spanning the visible region (λmax = 427-593 nm). Metallacycle-cored supramolecular polymers were obtained via host-guest interactions between bis-ammonium salts and P21C7. The supramolecular polymers exhibit similar emission wavelengths of the individual metallacycles and higher fluorescent efficiency in solution and thin films. Utilizing a yellow-emitting supramolecular polymer thin film with high quantum yield (0.22), a white-light-emitting LED was fabricated by painting the thin film onto an ultra violet-LED. This study presents an efficient approach for tuning the properties of fluorescent supramolecular polymers and potential of metallacycle-cored supramolecular polymers as a platform for the fabrication of light-emitting materials with good processability and tunability.

  • Synthesis of Novel Donor-Acceptor Type Molecule Based on Phenothiazine Unit for Organic Light-Emitting Materials

    摘要: A novel conjugated organic molecule based on central phenothiazine unit as an electronic donor and aldehyde group termini as an electronic acceptor has been designed and constructed. Optical spectra show that, the absorption and fluorescence spectra of M2 are large red-shifted relative to M1 in both states, however, from solution to the solid state, the absorption maxima and emission maxima of M1 and M2 are in the opposite trends (blue-shift). The fluorescence spectra exhibit that the emission maxima of M1 and M2 which range from 485 nm to 588 nm belong to green light region. As expected, the target compounds should be a promising green light-emitting material for applications in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs).
