  • Investigation on Solar PV generation and design of switched reluctance motor for Smart Agriculture actuation system

    摘要: This paper presents standalone solar photovoltaic (PV) powered fed actuation system employing a switched reluctance motor (SRM) particularly used in remote and rural areas. The converter efficiency is achieved by changing ON and OFF state of solar PV drive. An electronic commutation drives SRM drive with achieved by position hall sensor and encoder. The modified boost converter is proposed in single stage to conversion of PV fed power and inverter with reduced switching losses. Further proposed system is designed to reduce cost of system using simple design and control. This paper also proposes the speed control strategy of SRM motor with an artificial intelligent based Adaptive neuro fuzzy inference (ANFIS) system to achieve desired motor velocity as stated in reference velocity in farm lands. The system proposed is subjected to analysis the performance of drive and controller in both load and no-load conditions. Initially, a simulation model is modeled in MATLAB-SIMULINK with corresponding environments. The experimental setup for proposed system is developed using FPGA based SPEEDGOAT real time target machine. The simulation and hardware results suggest feasibility of proposed system in real time.

    摘要: At present, renewable energy has many sources, most important of which are PV systems. It is therefore necessary to contribute to the diagnosis of the state of the photovoltaic system and the detection and diagnosis of malfunction. And identify and resolve failures in photovoltaic systems as quickly as possible, so that the system will operate at the expected levels of performance and reliability, thereby ensuring the expected return on investment. This article proposes modeling, detection and classification of photovoltaic system faults by Artificial neural network: ANN using measured values of the PV system voltage (v) and the current of the PV system (I). The method allows the classification of the PV state into several possible situations: normal operation and some different faults, modeling or simulations of MatLab. This method has proved to be able to detect and identify the faults in the PV array accurately and efficiently.

  • Observation of P-V And I-V Characteristics Before and After Partial Shadow Effect on Photovoltaic Array Using Boost Converter

    摘要: The fundamental power generation unit for photovoltaic is solar PV module. The staging of PV array pivot on environmental conditions like operating temperature, solar heatstroke, array layout. PV line-up get partial shadow effect due to shadow of trees, poles, buildings…etc. Under such conditions the array gets more complicated and it will have spare than one alp. It is very dominant to forecast the attributes of PV array under partial shadow effect to procure maximal power. More distant hotspots, discrepancy losses will occur as well as these lead to certainty and constancy problems. It is still more extortionate and difficult to get control pivot of P-V and I-V under partial shadow effect. Sun Power SPR-305-WHT-U solar panel is taken as reference and the learning cornerstone on output power peak at different solar irradiation levels.     摘要: This paper deals with the design, simulation and construction of a switching mode power supply. The power supply is especially intended for one photovoltaic panel with 24 V output voltage and 250 W peak power. The supply is based on a flyback topology with nontraditional passive non-dissipative snubber circuit. The entire converter was simulated in the MATLAB Simulink. The converter is fully digital controlled by a STM32F334 microcontroller with a cascade control loop. The selected topology, fundamental simulation of the converter, snubber circuit and strategy of control and constructed converter are included in this paper. The converter can be used with another same converter for creating a small off grid photovoltaic system.

    摘要: This paper manages with the modelling of quadruple junction solar cell (qjsc) constructed by using the semiconductor material of AlGaInP-GaAs-GaInAs-Ge at a particular value solar irradiance, temperature. Comparison of output I-V and P-V curve of quadruple junction solar cell is done with triple junction solar cell made up of InGaP-InGaAs-Ge semiconductor material and also single junction solar cell (sjsc) made of a Ge semiconductor by using MATLAB/SIMULINK. It has been found higher value of output voltage and power in quadruple junction solar cell as compared to single, dual or triple junction solar cell. The above described quadruple junction solar cell is made by using the material having a same lattice structure which helps to ease the flow of current in all the four junctions and analysis is done at solar irradiance (1000-800-500) W/cm2. The whole analysis is done through pessimistic approach on the basis of the single exponential model.

  • Development of a simulation tool for predicting energy consumption of selective laser melting by using MATLAB/Simulink

    摘要: Additive manufacturing (AM) is the umbrella term for manufacturing processes that apply materials layer by layer to create 3D-parts. This technology implies many revolutionary benefits. Selective laser melting (SLM) is one promising metal AM technology which uses a laser beam to melt material on the selective area of a powder bed for creating parts. In order to ensure the sustainable value of SLM, the energy consumption for manufacturing parts with SLM should be analyzed in the design phase. Addressing this issue, this paper introduces the development of a simulation tool for energy consumption prediction with SLM by using MATLAB?/Simulink?. The development approach includes 5 phases: data acquisition, definition of system parameters, modeling using bond graphs, creation of Simulink? models, and creation of data structure and GUI. The result of this work shows that the simulation tool is a useful tool for analyzing and evaluating the energy consumption of SLM in the design phase.

    摘要: In the recent decades, Photovoltaic (PV) power generation has become one of the primary power source due to the advantages such as less maintenance and environmental benefits. Moreover, the generation source is ultimately free and abundant. However, the major barriers related to PV power generation are low power conversion efficiency, high cost of PV modules and nonlinearity in output power. Because of low power conversion efficiency, PV systems should work always at its Maximum Power Point (MPP). A power conditioning unit with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique is employed in the PV systems to harvest maximum power. The main function of MPPT is to detect the MPP for the given conditions and operate the system at that point. In this paper Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) based variable step size MPPT for a standalone solar PV system is presented. Solar PV system with Fuzzy based MPPT controller in Matlab /Simulink. The performance of proposed variable step size fuzzy MPPT algorithm is studied for different input conditions and analyzed in terms of performance parameters such as tracking speed, steady state oscillations, response under variations in irradiance and temparature, average output power and output power ripple. The results are compared with Variable Step Size Incremental Conductance (VSS InC) MPPT algorithm and conventional InC based PV system.

  • Proof of concept for a novel and smart shade resilient photovoltaic module

    摘要: In this study, the performance of a shade resilient smart module is studied under a dynamic shading pattern. A smart module architecture is developed to mitigate the non-linear shading effect on the module performance. Partial shading decreases the output current of the shaded cells and affects the unshaded cells’ output power. After distributing the module cells into small groups, based on a least square support vector machine optimisation method, DC–DC buck converters compensate the decreased current levels, by adjusting the output current and voltage level from any individual group of cells. The system is simulated in the MATLAB Simulink environment, and the output results are presented. Results show that the module performs efficiently and output power of the unshaded groups of cells never decreased because of the effect of shading on the other groups. Additionally, the maximum output power is harvested from all groups simultaneously. Prototype hardware is designed and built to implement the proof of concept. The real-time results of hardware testing show that the smart module performs as expected and mitigates partially shaded conditions by extracting maximum power from each group, regardless of other groups shading condition.

  • The Design of Nonlinear Chirp Based on the DSP Builder Technique

    摘要: This paper, by analyzing the function Chirp, studies the software design and realization of the function. It offers a design plan based on the nonlinear Chirp signal of DSP Builder technique and designs the signal generator of the nonlinear Chirp based on the design flow of Matlab/Simulink/DSP Builder/QuartusⅡ. It also conducts simulation verification using the development software Matlab/Simulink and QuartusII, proving that the design can well realize the signal source Chirp. The experiment proves that the DSP Builder technique can modify the starting frequency, bandwidth and the frequency resolution of linear frequency modulation signals by changing the programming parameters. The method is proved to be simple in designing, convenient in modification, low in cost and it doesn’t involve any programming; therefore, it is easy to realize.

    摘要: The photovoltaic system is able to provide a maximum power to the load to a point of particular operation which is usually called as the maximum point of power (MPP); thus, it is important to use a maximum power point trackers (MPPT) to achieve the photovoltaic maximum power nevertheless the unsteady environmental conditions. The (P&O) algorithm has used to be a classical solution for the purpose of tracking the maximum power, however, there are several drawbacks in this technique such as it causes an oscillation nearby the maximum power point. To overcome the existing problems in the classical method a lot of researches have been done. This article provides an intelligent method to improve and optimize the performance of the maximum power point tracker associated with the PV array with the help of fuzzy logic technology, as well as compare its behavior by report has other techniques (P&O) used in the photovoltaic systems controls. The simulation results are developed under MATLAB/Simulink software. An extensive simulation have been done and compared with the traditional (P&O) technique under various climatic conditions to provide the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
