    摘要: This paper describes improved calibration method for measuring the scattering parameters of an embedded planar transmission line on multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) substrate from 100 MHz to 40 GHz. When using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to measure the scattering parameters (S-parameters) of printed circuit board (PCB) interconnects, it can be advantageous to include the calibration and verification standards on the same PCB as the interconnects under test. Both designs of on-PCB standards and calibrated results of verification standards are presented.

    摘要: Tone mapping operators and multi-exposure fusion methods allow us to enjoy the informative contents of high dynamic range (HDR) images with standard dynamic range devices, but also introduce distortions into HDR contents. Therefore methods are needed to evaluate tone-mapped image quality. Due to the complexity of possible distortions in a tone-mapped image, information from different scales and different levels should be considered when predicting tone-mapped image quality. So we propose a new no-reference method of tone-mapped image quality assessment based on multi-scale and multi-layer features that are extracted from a pre-trained deep convolutional neural network model. After being aggregated, the extracted features are mapped to quality predictions by regression. The proposed method is tested on the largest public database for TMIQA and compared to existing no-reference methods. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better performance.

  • DESIGN OF COMPACT RECONFIGURABLE BROADBAND BAND-STOP FILTER BASED ON A LOW-PASS FILTER USING HALF CIRCLE DGS RESONATOR AND MULTI-LAYER TECHNIQUE

    摘要: This paper describes the design of a two-pole low-pass and band-stop ?lters. The low-pass structure is designed at the cuto? frequency of 2 GHz for the L-Band applications. This architecture uses half circle defected ground structure HCDGS instead full circle DGS resonator. Both the HCDGS shapes are etched in the ground plane and coupled via a substrate with a compensated capacitor. The rejection bandwidth of the LPF covers a large wideband spectrum. Therefore, the band suppression reaches more than 3f c. The ?lter is simulated and fabricated. The measured results are in good agreement with the full-wave simulated ones, showing the merits of compact size and sharp roll-o?. The multi-layer technique has been used in order to realize a transformation from low-pass behaviours to band-stop characteristics, keeping the same passband features. The new extracted band-stop topology is simulated and optimized using an RO4003 substrate with relative permittivity of 3.38 and thickness of h = 0.813 mm. The structure has a wide stopband with over 20 dB rejection from 3.5 GHz to 8.5 GHz. Such ?lters can be used for L-band and military applications.

  • Predicting the water production of a solar seawater greenhouse desalination unit using multi-layer perceptron model

    摘要: A solar seawater greenhouse is a type of desalination plant that uses solar energy and seawater to humidify the interior of the greenhouse and produce fresh water from the humid air (humidification-dehumidification process). The produced water is used both for irrigating agricultural crops and for drinking. Many parameters affect the performance of seawater greenhouses. The present study employed an artificial neural network to examine the effective parameters of the greenhouse on the fresh water production such as width, length, the height of the front evaporator, and roof transparency. A suitable structure was obtained for the multi-layer perceptron (MLP) method and the mathematical statistics % AARE, RMSE, and R2, were used to evaluate network performance. The method showed good agreement with the experimental data. Using the optimized created network, the effect of each parameter on the produced fresh water was assessed. Finally, a 125 m wide and 200 m long of greenhouse with a 4 m height of front evaporator and roof transparency of 0.6 that produced 161.6 m3/day of fresh water was introduced as the optimal seawater greenhouse.
