  • Effect of exciton diffusion on the triplet-triplet annihilation rate in organic semiconductor host-guest systems

    摘要: We study the contribution of triplet exciton diffusion to the efficiency loss resulting from F?rster-type triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) in organic phosphorescent semiconductor host-guest systems, using kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) simulations. Our study focusses on diffusion due to F?rster-type guest-guest transfer, but includes also a comparison with simulation results for the case of Dexter-type guest-guest transfer. The simulations are carried out for a wide range of F?rster radii, and for guest concentrations up to 100 mol%, with the purpose to support analyses of time-resolved photoluminescence experiments probing TTA. We find that the relative contribution of diffusion to the TTA-induced efficiency loss may be deduced quite accurately from a quantitative experimental measure for the shape of the time-dependent photoluminescence intensity, the so-called r ratio. For small guest concentrations and F?rster radii that are most relevant to organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), the diffusion contribution is in general quite small. Under these weak-diffusion conditions, the absolute diffusion contribution to the TTA-induced efficiency loss can be understood quantitatively using a capture radius formalism. The effective guest-guest diffusion coefficient that follows from the TTA simulations, using the capture radius formalism, agrees well with the diffusion coefficient that follows from direct KMC diffusion simulations. The simulations reveal that the diffusion coefficient is strongly affected by the randomness of the distribution of guest molecule locations.

  • Preparation of Bi<sub>2</sub>Gd<sub>1</sub>Fe<sub>5</sub>O<sub>12</sub> magnetic garnet films showing Faraday rotation of 36.3 deg./μm on glass substrates by metal organic decomposition method

    摘要: We fabricated the Bi2Gd1Fe5O12 thin films on glass substrates with the Gd3Fe5O12 buffer layer by the metal organic decomposition (MOD) method. We found an optimum thickness of the Gd3Fe5O12 buffer layer and annealing temperature for crystallization giving the maximum Faraday rotation. The optimum sample showed Faraday rotation of as high as 36.3 deg./μm at the wavelength λ = 500 nm, which is 23 times larger than the sample without the Gd3Fe5O12 buffer layer, and as high as 90.1% of the single crystalline Bi2Gd1Fe5O12 thin films on an (111) SGGG single crystal substrate. These results are promising for applications in optical waveguide isolators and magneto-optic spatial light modulators.

  • Synthesis, In Vitro and In Vivo Behaviour of TiO2 Containing Inorganic/Organic Hybrids

    摘要: In the present study inorganic/organic hybrids reinforced by introducing titanium (TiO2) in the form of Ti-n-butoxide were prepared. The phase composition, microstructure and mechanical properties of the prepared hybrids were investigated. Increasing the titanium content gradually enhanced the mechanical data of the prepared hybrids. The formation of apatite on the surface of the prepared hybrids was examined in SBF (simulated body fluid). In vivo studies revealed the ability of the hybrids to regenerate bone tissue in femur defects of adult male rabbits five months after surgery. The prepared hybrids are considered to be promising materials for bone substitutes or bone filler.

  • Paintable Room Temperature Phosphorescent Liquid Formulations of Alkylated Bromonaphthalimide

    摘要: Organic phosphors have been widely explored with an understanding that crystalline molecular ordering is a requisite for enhanced intersystem crossing. In this context, we explore the room temperature phosphorescence features of a solvent-free organic liquid phosphor in air. Given alkyl chain substitution varied the physical states of bromonaphthalimides, phosphorescence remained unaltered for the solvent-free liquid in air. As the first report, a solvent-free liquid of a long swallow tailed bromonaphthalimide exhibits room temperature phosphorescence in air. Doping of the phosphor with carbonyl guests resulted in enhanced phosphorescence and hence a large area paintable phosphorescent liquid composite with improved lifetime and quantum yield is developed.

  • 49.1: <i>Invited Paper:</i> Optical Sensitive Organic Memory Transistors

    摘要: This work discusses the electrical properties of the 2,9-di-decyl-dinaphtho-[2,3-b:20,30-f]-thieno-[3,2-b]-thiophene (C10-DNTT) organic field effect transistors under different programming conditions. We noticed that the shifting of threshold voltage (Vth) can last for more than 20000 seconds which allows these devices to store information as a memory buffer. These devices can be further integrated into an array form for large area optical signal sensing.

  • Efficient photo-Fenton activity in mesoporous MIL-100(Fe) decorated with ZnO nanosphere for pollutants degradation

    摘要: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received significant interest as a promising photocatalyst for environmental remediation due to its high surface area and porous nature. The small pores (<2 nm) in microporous MOFs help the adsorption of small molecules but limits diffusion and accessing of bigger molecules from MOF cavities, thus preventing their applications in some situation. The aim of this work is to fabricate mesoporous MOF composite with larger pore sizes (>2 nm) and open pore cavities that can provide right pathways for ingoing and outgoing of molecules during catalysis. Herein, we successfully report stable mesoporous MIL-100(Fe) loaded with ZnO NS by an in situ self-assembly method. The prepared samples were characterized by Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm to study their surface area and porosity. The catalytic performance of mesoporous MIL-100(Fe) was approximately 2-3 order of magnitude more than that of microporous MIL-100(Fe). Such higher catalytic activity in mesoporous MIL-100(Fe) can be ascribed to its mesocellular structure which can improve the molecular diffusion and accessibility inside MOF channels. The charge separation efficiency and photo-Fenton activity of mesoporous MIL-100(Fe) can further be increased by introduction of certain amount of ZnO NS and H2O2. Moreover, the as synthesized sample shows higher photo-Fenton degradation efficiency at lower pH value with certain amount of H2O2. Lastly, the possible catalytic mechanism has been tentatively proposed. This study not only used for the pollutants degradation but also provide useful platform for the application of mesoporous MOFs as an efficient photo-Fenton activity to various other fields.

  • Dithienobenzothiadiazole-Based Donor-Acceptor Polymer: Synthesis and Characterization for Organic Field-Effect Transistor

    摘要: Conjugated polymers with coplanar conformation backbones can form a closer π-π stacking self-assembly in solid films, producing high charge-carrier mobility in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). In this work, a new donor-acceptor (D-A) copolymer (PDTFBT-TVT) including (E)-2-(2-(thiophen-2-yl)vinyl)thiophene and dithienobenzothiadiazole conjugated units is synthesized via Stille copolymerization. It is found that PDTFBT-TVT has a good planar backbone structure with an optical band gap of 1.89 eV. Spun-cast film contains preferentially edge-on orientated polymer chains with respect to a polymer-treated SiO2 dielectric, yielding a hole mobility (μh) of 0.06 cm2 V-1 s-1 in OFET. Thermal annealing enhanced the π-conjugated ordering and orientation of PDTFBT-TVT chains in the spun-cast films. The annealed film-based OFETs show a considerable enhancement in μh up to 0.22 cm2 V-1 s-1, as well as high on/off current ratio of > 106.

  • Subtle structure tailoring of metal-free triazine luminogens for highly efficient ultralong organic phosphorescence

    摘要: Highly efficient ultralong organic phosphorescence (UOP) based on a series of metal-free triazine luminogens was achieved via subtly structural tailoring of bromine substituted positions. Impressively, p-BrAT in solid state displayed high phosphorescence efficiency up to 9.7% with a long lifetime of 386 ms, which was one of the highest efficient UOP materials reported so far in metal-free compounds.

  • Covalent organic framework as an efficient, metal-free, heterogeneous photocatalyst for organic transformations under visible light

    摘要: Visible-light active, heterogeneous, and organic photocatalysts exhibit a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to classical metal-based catalysts. Two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks (2D-COFs) with permanent porosity, columnar π-arrays and excellent stability, that can become an excellent platform for heterogeneous photocatalysis of organic transformations. Here we report a predesigned imine-based COF with electron donor and acceptor structure. And new framework possesses large surface area, high crystallinity, outstanding stability and broad absorption range in the visible-light region as well as good photoelectric response characteristics. Importantly, it was found to be a highly effective heterogeneous photocatalyst for reductive dehalogenation of phenacyl bromide derivatives and α-alkylation of aldehydes under irradiation of visible-light. In addition, the COF gave good recyclability and could be reused after a simple separation manipulation. The current present still reveals a great prospect for 2D-COFs as metal-free, heterogeneous photocatalysts for organic transformations.

  • Encapsulated Textile Organic Solar Cells Fabricated by Spray Coating

    摘要: Solution based processes such as screen printing and spray coating are established processes for fabricating organic solar cells (OSCs) on flexible polymer substrates. However, realizing a flexible solar cell on a textile substrate remains a significant challenge due to the properties of the textile itself, which can present an absorbent, rough and fibrous surface. The textile also limits processing temperatures which can reduce functional materials performance. In this work, we demonstrate an optimized fabrication approach using entirely spray coating to fabricate textile OSCs with a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 0.4 %. An interface layer is first deposited on the standard woven textile that forms a smooth supporting layer for the subsequent spray coated functional layers. A top encapsulation layer is deposited on top of the fabricated textile OSCs, which improves the durability and life time of the OSCs is evidenced by cyclic bending test.
