  • Electrochemiluminescence sensor based on upconversion nanoparticles and oligoaniline-crosslinked gold nanoparticles imprinting recognition sites for the determination of dopamine

    摘要: For the determination of dopamine (DA) in serum samples, a quenching-type electrochemiluminescence sensor was constructed in this study. Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) enhanced by covalent organic frameworks (COFs)-based hybrid and oligoaniline-crosslinked gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) imprinting recognition sites were introduced in electrochemiluminescence (ECL) system at first time. The porous COFs-based hybrid with large specific surface area was modified on the electrode firstly to hold more UCNPs and imprinting recognition sites. AuNPs, here, was employed in developed sensor for two objectives: 1) AuNPs on COFs-based hybrid enabled the hybrid to tunnel the electrons, which helped to improve the ECL intensity; 2) AuNPs-based thioaniline units (PATP@AuNPs) electropolymerized on the electrode in the presence of template to form oligoaniline-crosslinked AuNPs matrix. Then the exclusion of template from matrix yielded molecularly three-dimensional imprinted contours with conductivity, conducive to specific recognition and further amplify the ECL. The double recognition mode in this work involves the recognition effect of imprinted contours and quenching effect of o-benzoquinone species. The quantum chemical calculation was performed to analyzing the possible recognition and binding mechanisms of molecularly three-dimensional imprinted contours. The results showed imprinted contours could bind the target by complementary spatial cavities and weak interactions. The proposed approach yields a wide detection range (10-14-10-6 M), low limit of detection (LOD=2×10-15 M) and acceptable recoveries (93.25%-112.97%) in rat serum sample, demonstrating that the developed method holds great promise to be applied to DA detection in practical samples.

  • Indocyanine green–encapsulated nanoscale metal–organic frameworks for highly effective chemo-photothermal combination?cancer therapy

    摘要: Indocyanine green (ICG), as the only U.S. Food and Drug Administrationeapproved near-infrared (NIR) clinical agent, has been considered as an ideal light absorber for laser-mediated photothermal therapy (PTT) in cancer treatment. However, the practical applications of ICG are severely hampered by its poor aqueous stability, rapid body clearance, and low cellular uptake. To overcome these limitations, we herein report the successful example of integrating ICG into a zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-8) to fabricate a novel nanoscale ICG@ZIF-8 hybrid material. Through a simple one-pot synthesis method, a high loading content of 20.6% can be achieved in the resultant ICG@ZIF-8. The photostability and tumor accumulation of ICG are notably promoted due to the protection of the framework, leading to enhanced photothermal conversion ef?ciency. Furthermore, we also discover, for the ?rst time, that the pH-triggered release of large amount of Zn2t from ZIF-8 in tumor acidic microenvironment also signi?cantly contributes to targeted killing of cancer cells. As a result of the combined PTT and chemotherapy, ICG@ZIF-8 exhibits greatly improved diagnostic ef?cacy for both in vitro and in vivo cancer therapy, leading to 91% tumor eradication in all the mice treated with ICG@ZIF-8 and NIR irradiation. Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E)estained slices show that no noticeable tissue damage is observed in major organs, indicating the safety of ICG@ZIF-8.

  • Flexible all-organic photorefractive devices

    摘要: The objective of the present study is to demonstrate and evaluate the photorefractive (PR) performance of an all-organic PR device with a self-assembled monolayer (SAM)-modified organic conductive electrode of PEDOT:PSS coated on polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The PR composite consisted of a triphenylamine-based photoconductive polymer: poly(4-(diphenylamino)benzylacrylate) (PDAA), triphenylamine photoconductive plasticizer: (4-(diphenylamino)phenyl)methanol (TPAOH), nonlinear optical dye based on aminocyanostyrene: (4-asacycloheptylbenzylidenemalononitrile) (7-DCST), and soluble fullerene: [6, 6]-phenyl C61 butyric acid-methyl ester (PCBM). For comparison with the all-organic PR device, the PR performances using PET/ITO, glass/ITO, and glass/PEDOT:PSS substrates were also evaluated. The PR performance at an applied electric field of 40 V μm-1: diffraction efficiency and the response time of the PR device using PET/PEDOT:PSS-SAM substrate were 21.9%, and 390 ms, respectively. As a result of repeating bending test on this all-organic PR device, we found that the flexible PR device with PET/PEDOT:PSS-SAM substrate had a potential to withstand bending 10,000 times and revealed that the change in the haze value strongly influenced the degradation of PR performance.

  • Mechanism of photoluminescence intermittency in organic-inorganic perovskite nanocrystals

    摘要: Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals have demonstrated their potential as active materials for optoelectronic applications over the past few years. Nevertheless one issue which hampers their applicability has to do with the observation of photoluminescence intermittency, commonly referred to as blinking, as in their inorganic counterparts. Such behavior, reported for structures well above the quantum confinement regime, has been discussed to be strongly related with the presence of charge carrier traps. In this work we analyze the characteristics of this intermittency and explore the dependence with the surrounding atmosphere, showing evidence for the critical role played by the presence of oxygen. We discuss a possible mechanism in which a constant creation/annihilation of halide-related carrier traps takes place under light irradiation, the dominant rate being determined by the atmosphere.

  • Concentration effects on the thermally-activated transport of polarons in conducting polymers

    摘要: The impact of the polaron concentration on the temperature-mediated charge transport in one-dimensional organic materials is studied. Within the scope of a tight-binding description, our findings reveal that high-temperature diffusivity tends to increase as polaron concentration increases. Moreover, the activation energy for the polaron transport also increases with polaron concentration. Importantly, the polaron diffusivity follows an Arrhenius-like behavior with low activation energy.

  • Nitrogen-embedded small-molecule semiconducting materials: Effect of chlorine atoms on their electrochemical, self-assembly, and carrier transport properties

    摘要: We reported three novel nitrogen-embedded small molecules 4a, 4b, and 4c, which were synthesized from the condensation reactions of benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b']difuran-2,6(3H,7H)-dione with 1-(2-ethylhexyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2,3-dione, 6-chloro-1-(2-ethylhexyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2,3-dione, or 4,6-dichloro-1-(2-ethylhexyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2,3-dione, respectively. Their optical, electrochemical properties, self-assembly behavior, and carrier transport properties were studied by a range of experimental and theoretical methods, and the effect of chlorine atoms were well discussed. Energy levels of the highest occupied molecular orbitals and the lowest unoccupied ones for these molecular materials locate at ?5.92~?6.02 and ?4.25~?4.37 eV, respectively. Bottom gate/bottom contact field-effect transistors based on 4a, 4b, and 4c exhibited n-channel transport characteristics with the highest electron mobility of 7.57 × 10?3 cm2 V?1 s?1. Thin film microstructure investigations revealed 4a and 4c perform lamellar molecular packing with random orientations to the OTS-treated SiO2 substrate, while 4b conducts a highly crystalline, edge-on, lamellar packing though large grain boundaries exist in its thin film.

  • New blue phosphorescence from trifluorosulfonyl-substituted iridium complexes

    摘要: For color-pure phosphorescence organic light emitting diodes (PHOLEDs), we synthesized the trifluoromethyl sulfonyl substituted ligand and two new blue Iridium complexes with perfluoro-sulfonyl group (SOCF3pic and SOCF3mpic). The both iridium complexes showed similar photophysical and thermal properties while the HOMO energy leves of two Iridium complexes slightly differnet to be -5.84 eV for SOCF3pic and -5.74 eV for SOCF3mpic, respectively. The device with the SOCF3mpic dopant exhibited higher device efficiencies of 7.17 cd/A and 3.7 % compared to that with the SOCF3pic dopant (4.03 cd/A and 2.78 %). Two-dimensional GIXD images of scattered X-ray intensity from surface to full depth for SOCF3pic-doped and SOCF3mpic-doped TCTA:4PTPS films were characterized for preferential orientation along the out-of-plane direction.

  • Coating of 2D Flexible Metal–Organic Frameworks on Metal Nanocrystals

    摘要: We report, for the first time, metal (Pd) nanocrystals (NCs) covered with a 2D flexible metal–organic framework (MOF) of [Zn(NO2-ip)(bpy)]n (NO2-ip: 5-nitro-isophthalate, bpy: 4,4′-bipyridine). The hybrid materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction measurements and transmission electron microscope techniques. The CO2 sorption and hydrogen storage properties revealed that both the flexible porous character of the MOF and the hydrogen absorption ability of Pd NCs were compatible in the hybrid.

  • UV luminescence characterisation of organics in Mars-analogue substrates

    摘要: Detection of organic matter is one of the core objectives of future Mars exploration. The ability to probe rocks, soils, and other geological substrates for organic targets is a high priority for in situ investigation, sample caching, and sample return. UV luminescence—the emission of visible light following UV irradiation—is a tool that is beginning to be harnessed for planetary exploration. We conducted UV photoluminescence analyses of (i) Mars analogue sediments doped with polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs; <15 ppm), (ii) carbonaceous CM chondrites and terrestrial kerogen (Type IV), and (iii) synthetic salt crystals doped with PAHs (2 ppm). We show that detection of PAHs is possible within synthetic and natural gypsum, and synthetic halite. These substrates show the most apparent spectral modifications, suggesting that the most transparent minerals are more conducive to UV photoluminescence detection of trapped organic matter. Iron oxide, ubiquitously present on Mars surface, hampers but does not completely quench the UV luminescence emission. Finally, the maturity of organic carbonaceous material influences the luminescence response, resulting in a reduced signal for UV excitation wavelengths down to 225 nm. This study demonstrates the utility of UV luminescence spectroscopy for the analysis of mixed organic-inorganic materials applicable to Mars exploration.

  • Heat-Assisted Photoacidic Oxidation Method for Tailoring the Surface Chemistry of Polymer Dielectrics for Low-Power Organic Soft Electronics

    摘要: The use in low-power soft electronics of the appropriate insulating polymer materials with a high dielectric constant (k) is considered a practical alternative to that of inorganic dielectric materials, which are brittle and have high processing temperatures. However, the polar surfaces of typical high-k polymer insulators are problematic. Further, it is a huge challenge to control their surface properties without damage because of their soft and chemically fragile nature. Here, a heat-assisted photoacidic oxidation method that can be used to effectively oxidize the outermost surfaces of high-k rubbery polymer films without degradation is presented. The oxidized surfaces prepared with the developed method contain large numbers of hydroxyl groups that enable the subsequent growth of dense and ordered self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) consisting of organosilanes. The whole process modifies the surface characteristics of polymer dielectrics effectively. The mechanisms of the oxidation of polymer surfaces and the subsequent SAM growth process are investigated. The resulting surface-tailored rubbery dielectrics exhibit superior electrical characteristics when used in organic transistors. These results demonstrate that this method can be used to realize practical soft organic electronics based on high-k polymer dielectrics.
