Method for Measuring the Absolute Spectral Response of Infrared Photodetector Arrays
摘要: Physical and technical aspects of the implementation of an alternative method for measuring the absolute spectral response of infrared photodetector arrays (IR PDA) (current sensitivity spectrum, voltage sensitivity, and quantum efficiency) without the use of spectral instruments are considered. The method is based on multiple measurements of the output signal of all IR array’s photosensitive elements (PSEs) generated by modulated black-body radiation at different temperatures of the black body (BB). The signal is measured against the sum of constant signals from the background radiation, the detector input optical window, the BB radiation modulator, the PSE dark current, and the constant signal of the LSI multiplexer. A system of Fredholm integral equations of the first kind is constructed based on the measured PSE signals. Its left side includes measured BB signals and, the right side, analytical expressions describing these signals. The solution of the system are the absolute values of the above-mentioned spectral components of all PSEs of PDAs. The block diagram of the measurement setup is considered, functional features of its operation are analyzed, and requirements for its blocks are substantiated. Additional advantages of the new method in comparison with the existing methods are presented.

A Particle Strength Exchange Method for Metal Removal in Laser Drilling
摘要: A meshfree Particle Strength Exchange (PSE) method is developed for metal removal in a simplified laser drilling problem. To this end, the problem of transient state heat transfer is solved by exerting a static laser beam with a Gaussian intensity distribution, as the external heat source. The proposed PSE scheme is a fully Lagrangian approach, which is straightforward to implement as compared to alternative meshfree methods currently adopted in the state of the art. The performance of the PSE method in solving the heat transfer problem at hand is assessed through a case-study on single-pulse laser heating of a metal workpiece. The simulation results are finally verified against both numerical and experimental data available in the literature, demonstrating the suitability of the proposed approach in addressing the thermal issues of complex manufacturing processes.

摘要: This paper presents a microwave gas sensor based on interdigital resonator structure coating with gas sensing material of poly (styrene-co-maleic acid) partial isobutyl/methyl mixed ester (PSE). This sensor was designed on the center of coplanar waveguide (CPW) to operate at 4 GHz with rejection characteristic. The measured results for five samples of ammonia hydroxide concentration (50, 200, 500, 1000, and 2000 ppm) under a static system in the closed chamber at room temperature were obtained. The levels of gas concentration can be impressively detected by measuring the transmission coefficient changes. The proposed sensor can be employed for several applications such as sensing the gas generating from agricultural products.
