  • Electrodeposited MoS2 counter electrode for flexible dye sensitized solar cell module with ionic liquid assisted photoelectrode

    摘要: Dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) offers great advantages includes low cost materials, economic fabrication, suitable for low-light conversion, flexibility option, color design possibilities, etc. In the present study, a semi-transparent, molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) flexible counter electrode (CE) is realized through electrodeposition method. Low temperature processed TiO2 solution is used for photoelectrode (PE) preparation. Conductive ionic liquid (BVImI + LiI) is used to modify the surface of photoelectrode for alteration of conduction band level of PE, towards enriched electron injection rate into TiO2. Flexible dye-sensitized solar cell (f-DSSC) fabricated by sandwich the photoelectrode and counter electrodes, and an ionic liquid electrolyte is injected. The surface modified photoelectrode (SM-PE) assisted test cell (0.16 cm2 active area) witnessed an enhanced current density value 12.46 mA/cm2 and power conversion efficiency (PCE) 4.84% is higher than the normal PE based f-DSSC (11.56 mA/cm2 and 4.35%). For comparison, platinum-based f-DSSC with SM-PE is fabricated, is attained 6.08% of PCE. The f-DSSC sub-module with MoS2-CE gave 4.21% of PCE, the results are presented.

  • Solution-shearing-processed flexible polymer solar mini sub-modules fabricated on an embedded silver-grid substrate

    摘要: A flexible transparent electrode film is fabricated by coating the conductive polymer PEDOT:PSS using a solution-shearing process on PET film in which silver nanoparticles are embedded in intaglio grids patterned by a roll-to-roll thermal imprinting method. The composite electrode shows a sheet resistance of 20 Ω square?1 and a light transmittance of 82.9% at room temperature. An all-solution polymer solar mini sub-module is fabricated on the flexible electrode by further depositing ZnO and P3HT:PC61BM layers using the optimized solution-shearing process with subsequent printing of PEDOT:PSS and flat-screen printing of silver. The structure and morphology of the solution-shearing processed films examined by XRD and AFM show smoother surfaces and higher crystallinity than those of conventional spin-coated films. The solution-shearing-processed flexible polymer solar mini sub-module fabricated on an area of 36 cm2 shows a power conversion efficiency of 1.87% under an AM 1.5G solar simulator. Therefore, the solution-shearing process toward large-area flexible polymer solar module fabrication is successfully demonstrated.

The service information is enter into the information-recording module, and the user selects and records the information via the Web to exchange and share. Experiments display that the application system is convenient and interesting. The results display that the application of the proposed system can satisfy the daily needs of users.

    摘要: In this paper an overview of temperature sensors used for PV module temperature measurement is presented. Issues with contact temperature sensors, in the process of PV module temperature measurement, are explained in detail. Brief overview of related research is given, which includes analysis of measurement process and the presented results. Thorough research is conducted based on few commercially available temperature sensors, which include four contact and a single non-contact sensor. Measurement accuracy of all employed sensors was evaluated using a high-quality thermal imaging camera and the obtained measurement results are also presented.

    摘要: The opto-electronic oscillator (OEO), used as a high-frequency oscillator to produce millimeter-wave (mm-W) signals with a low phase noise, is a suitable candidate for fifth-generation (5G) networks in the mm-W range. Since a mm-W OEO is too expensive for every 5G base-station, another option is to employ the OEO at the central-office to feed the base-stations via a passive optical network (PON) infrastructure. The lengths of the PON branches introduce a large power penalty to the transmitted mm-W OEO signal due to the chromatic dispersion of the optical fiber. In this paper the idea of upgrading the PON branches with tunable dispersion-compensated modules to have power-penalty-free transmission is proposed. By overcoming the power-penalty problem in the mm-W range, the integrated optical dispersion-compensated modules are used to minimize the influence of the dispersion in the standard single-mode optical fiber used in the PON.

    摘要: In this paper, we proposed a decentralized cooperative lane-changing decision-making framework for connected autonomous vehicles, which is composed of three modules, i.e., state prediction, candidate decision generation, and coordination. In other words, each connected autonomous vehicle makes cooperative lane-changing decision independently. In the state prediction module, we employed existing cooperative car-following models to predict the vehicles’ future state. In the candidate decision generation module, we proposed incentive based model to generate a candidate decision. In the candidate decision coordination module, we proposed an algorithm to avoid candidate lane-changing decision that may lead to a vehicle collision or traf?c deterioration to be ?nal decision. Moreover, the effects of decentralized cooperative lane-changing decision-making framework on traf?c stability, ef?ciency, homogeneity, and safety are investigated in a numerical simulation experiment. Some stability, ef?ciency, homogeneity, and safety indicators are evaluated and show the high potential of our proposed framework in traf?c dynamics.

  • Photovoltaic Module Reliability || What does the Future Hold for PV and a Brief Summary

    摘要: The discussions in the previous chapters looked at both the history and present‐day status of photovoltaics (PV) module reliability and the accelerated stress testing associated with it. In this final chapter, the focus will shift to the future. PV is a dynamic industry so the technology and the testing standards are constantly evolving. The first section in this chapter will provide an update on the changes already in progress for some of the more important module qualification and safety standards. The second section will switch to a longer‐range view, discussing how PV module reliability is likely to change in the future and what sort of accelerated stress testing will be necessary to validate the quality of the huge volume of modules produced. The book will end with a brief summary of the status of PV module reliability today.

  • A transparent and Pt-free all-carbon nanocomposite counter electrode catalyst for efficient dye sensitized solar cells

    摘要: Recently, substantial focus has made in the development of cost effective Pt-free dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). In this article we report a potential, Pt-free, carbon based nanocomposite as counter electrode catalyst for dye sensitized solar cells. Graphene oxide (GO) was made into reduced graphene oxide (SSrGO) by irradiating with light (Xe source). Suspension of SSrGO in DMF was spray coated onto fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) coated glass substrate, followed by spray coat of single walled carbon nanohorns (SWCNH) suspension in DMF. SSrGO and SWCNH coated FTO glass substrate was investigated as an effective Pt-free composite counter electrode (CE) for DSSC and also showed the comparable catalytic activity with Pt. The test cell reveals power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 8.27%, whereas the DSSC module exhibited a PCE of 5.18%. By using the fabricated DSSC module, an electric motor (15 mW) was operated both in indoor and outdoor light conditions. The procedures followed in this work pave a way for the easy fabrication of composite CE towards transparent DSSC modules and further the integration of the DSSC module with the standard Si solar cell is of great potential for various real-time application.

    摘要: With the appearance of Global Navigation Satellite Systems spoofers, anti-spoofing has become a pressing issue. Intermediate spoofing is performed at a power only slightly higher than that of an authentic signal; therefore, it is quite difficult to detect counterfeit signals in real time via current detection methods. Multimodal detection is a well-known method for detecting counterfeit signals. However, it is often used in the acquisition stage, and thus, its effective time is very short. In this paper, we define the searching process as when the acquisition module does not need to find new signals. In addition, we utilize multimodal detection to detect intermediate spoofing in the acquisition module when performing the searching process, which is almost real time and can address the condition of arbitrary signal intervals. The acquisition module is used to monitor the signals that are being tracked; if we find at least two peaks above a threshold, we declare that counterfeit signals are detected. Then, we define an evaluation standard and provide a theoretical performance calculation method. An empirical formula is proposed to calculate the method’s performance. By analyzing the effect of five influencing factors, we better understand the empirical formula and obtain the conclusion that, by decreasing the code phase’s search step, we can obtain better detection results. The results are desirable for designing anti-spoofing receivers.

  • Online extraction of physical parameters of photovoltaic modules in a building-integrated photovoltaic system

    摘要: Building-integrated photovoltaic systems are solar photovoltaic modules that are used to replace traditional building construction materials to generate electrical energy. Photovoltaic modules are generally installed on the roofs or facades of buildings and cannot be monitored by conventional methods. This work presents a new online technique for analysing the current-voltage characteristics of photovoltaic modules installed on the facades of building-integrated photovoltaic systems. The proposed method, which is based on the modi?ed double-diode model, can extract six physical parameters of the photovoltaic module that rely on the current and voltage at the short-circuit and open-circuit points and at the maximum power point. Unlike the approaches from existing studies, the method proposed in this paper requires only the current at the maximum power point. By measuring the solar irradiance, wind speed and average temperature of the photovoltaic module, the current and voltage at the short-circuit and open-circuit points can be calculated. To study the accuracy of the proposed models, the absolute error and root mean square error of individual photovoltaic modules are examined. The results indicate that the minimum absolute error of the current appears near the maximum power point. Moreover, the proposed simulation of the current-voltage characteristic curves achieves a lower root mean square error value and exhibits a better ability to represent the current-voltage characteristics of the photovoltaic modules. In addition, methods are used to extract the six parameters of the photovoltaic module, which operates in the building-integrated photovoltaic system. The experimental results show that the prediction of the current-voltage characteristic curves achieves the lowest root mean square error values at the short-circuit and open-circuit points and at the maximum power point. Furthermore, regardless of whether operating in the building-integrated photovoltaic system, the six parameters of the photovoltaic modules with the same initial characteristics extracted via the proposed methods have similar numerical ranges under standard test conditions. Based on these conclusions, the six parameters based on the modi?ed double-diode model are useful and practical for the simulation and evaluation of the current-voltage characteristics of the photovoltaic module in the building-integrated photovoltaic system.
