摘要: In recent years, photovoltaic (PV) systems have been installed in Japan at an accelerated rate. The application of PV generation forecasts and the utilization of energy storage devices in power system operation are essential to reduce supply–demand imbalances and enable the use of more PV energy without curtailment. In this paper, assuming extremely high PV generation after 2030, we focus on the coordinated operation of a battery energy storage system (BESS) and conventional power plants. We propose a method of determining and updating the BESS charging/discharging schedule and generator unit commitment based on the day-ahead and intraday PV generation forecasts. We present an evaluation of this method based on the results of numerical simulations conducted for one year on a bulk power system model to demonstrate the effectiveness with which it reduces energy shortfall and PV power curtailment.

Analysis of power efficient compressor with fuzzy logic MPPT-based PV/FC system
摘要: In this paper, a hybrid photovoltaic (PV)/fuel cell (FC) power generation system is considered, where the hydrogen generated by the electrolysis process is used for subsequent FC operation. A novel induction motor-based compressor is proposed to boost up the pressure of hydrogen, and hence to improve the performance of the FC system. A fuzzy logic-based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) system is designed for the considered PV system. Finally, a coordinated control scheme is applied for controlling the power supplied to the load by integrating both the sources. The complete model is realised in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. Extensive simulation studies are conducted to verify the developed model. The performance of the complete system is found satisfactory under different conditions.

摘要: The solar array output model under arbitrary damage condition is established and a semi-physical simulation platform is built, which are used to study the influence of solar array damage on satellite power system. The experimental results show that the solar array damage range, damage degree, and satellite working mode influence the remaining service life of satellite power system. When the solar array damage range and satellite working mode are determined, the rule between remaining service life of satellite power system and solar array damage degree can be summarized as 'three areas, two key points'.

摘要: This paper presents a multi-antenna approach of the phase-based SARFID method to locate static tags by employing two UHF-RFID reader antennas installed on an Unmanned Grounded Vehicle (UGV). The UGV is remote-controlled and equipped with Laser Range Finder sensors to move inside an indoor environment, and the knowledge of its trajectory is achieved through a Simultaneous Localization And Mapping procedure. By processing the phase data collected from each reader antenna, different matching functions can be obtained and combined to improve the estimation of the bi-dimensional tag position. Differently from other localization techniques, neither reference tags (anchor tags), nor large phased array antennas are required.

摘要: The rapid development in face detection study has been greatly supported by the availability of large image datasets, which provide detailed annotations of faces on images. However, among a number of publicly accessible datasets, to our best knowledge, none of them are specifically created for academic applications. In this paper, we propose a systematic method in forming an image dataset tailored for classroom environment. We also made our dataset and its exploratory analyses publicly available. Studies in computer vision for academic application, such as an automated student attendance system, would benefit from our dataset.

摘要: High demand of photovoltaic (PV) energy presents a challenge to operation and control of a power system. A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is an effective way to shave the peaks and to smooth the load during energy production changes with dynamic power demand. This paper introduces a novel peak shaving method with a PV-battery storage system. The method is tested on a system in Ulm, Germany. The PV-battery system has 31 kWp from a PV array, which is connected to a 76 kWh Li-Ion battery with a peak power of 60 kW. The system has been in operation since May 2015. The threshold on load and State of Charge (SOC) of the battery is applied in the peak shaving method. The average of SOC and actual state of energy of the battery are used for the determination of the change in the threshold value on load.

System Design for High-Capacity Unrepeatered Optical Transmission
摘要: By basing the figure of merit on the joint evaluation of signal BER and OSNR, the design of single-carrier 400G unrepeatered optical systems using remote optically-pumped amplifiers (ROPAs) with dedicated delivery fiber is discussed and analyzed in this work. Simulation results show very good agreement with experimental measurements, proving the effectiveness of the proposed approach in critical transmission situations.

摘要: Smart Microgrid (SMG), integrated with renewable energy, energy storage system and advanced bidirectional communication network, has been envisioned to improve efficiency and reliability of power delivery. However, the stochastic nature of renewable energy and privacy concerns due to intensive bidirectional data exchange make the traditional energy management system (EMS) perform poorly. In order to improve operational efficiency and customers’ satisfaction, we propose a distributed cooperative energy management system (DCEMS). We adopt recurrent neural network with long short-term memory to predict the solar energy generation with high accuracy. We then solve the underlying economic dispatch problem with distributed scalable Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) algorithm to avoid single point of failure problem and preserve customers’ privacy. In the first stage, each SMG optimizes its operation decision vector in a centralized manner based on one-day ahead solar energy generation prediction. In the second stage, all SMGs share their energy exchange information with directly connected neighboring SMGs to cooperatively optimize the global operation cost. The proposed DCEMS is deployed in our distributed SMGs emulation platform and its performance is compared with other approaches. The results show that the proposed DCEMS outperforms heuristic rule-based EMS by more than 30%. It can also protect customers’ privacy and avoid single point of failure without degrading performance too much compared to centralized EMS.

Physical Layer Security of Hybrid Satellite-FSO Cooperative Systems
摘要: In this paper, we study the physical layer secrecy performance of a hybrid satellite and free-space optical (FSO) cooperative system. The satellite links are assumed to follow the Shadowed-Rician fading distribution; and the channel of the terrestrial link between the relay and destination is assumed to experience the Gamma-Gamma fading. For the FSO communications, the effects of different types of detection techniques (i.e., heterodyne detection and intensity modulation with direct detection) as well as the pointing error are considered. We derive exact analytical expressions for the average secrecy capacity (ASC) and secrecy outage probability (SOP) for both cases of Amplify-and-Forward (AF) and Decode-and-Forward (DF) relaying. The asymptotic analysis for the SOP is also conducted to provide more insights on the impact of FSO and satellite channels on secrecy performance. It is found that with the AF with fixed gain scheme, the secrecy diversity order of the investigated system is only dependent on the channel characteristics of the FSO link and the FSO detection type, whereas the secrecy diversity is zero when the relay node employs DF or AF with variable-gain schemes.
