  • Design and Simulation of Novel Gated Integrator for the Heavy ion Beam Monitors System

    摘要: In this study, the objective is to realize a Gated Integrator (GI) circuit for silicon strip, Si(Li), CdZnTe and CsI detectors etc. With the development of radioactive ion beam physics, heavy-charged particles like carbon ions have been applied to the treatment of deep-seated inoperable tumors in the therapy terminal of the Heavy ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL) located at the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). A high resolution current measurement circuit was developed to monitor the beam current at 1pA range. The circuit consisted of a low current high sensitivity I/V converter and gated integrator in an energy spectroscopy. A low offset voltage precision amplifier and new guarding and shielding techniques were used in the I/V converter circuit which allowed to measure low current. This paper will show a MOS switch configuration which is used to prevent leakage current and novel technique to compensate a charge injection in the reset switch.

  • Research progress about the effect and prevention of blue light on eyes

    摘要: ● In recent years, people have become increasingly attentive to light pollution influences on their eyes. In the visible spectrum, short-wave blue light with wavelength between 415 nm and 455 nm is closely related to eye light damage. This high energy blue light passes through the cornea and lens to the retina causing diseases such as dry eye, cataract, age-related macular degeneration, even stimulating the brain, inhibiting melatonin secretion, and enhancing adrenocortical hormone production, which will destroy the hormonal balance and directly affect sleep quality. Therefore, the effect of Blu-rays on ocular is becoming an important concern for the future. We describe blue light’s effects on eye tissues, summarize the research on eye injury and its physical prevention and medical treatment.

  • Photobiomodulation therapy as a tool to prevent hamstring strain injuries by reducing soccer-induced fatigue on hamstring muscles

    摘要: Muscle fatigue is a potential risk factor for hamstring strain injuries in soccer players. The aim of this study was to verify the effect of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) on the hamstrings’ muscle fatigue of soccer players during a simulated match. Twelve male amateur soccer players (~ 25 years) participated in this randomized, crossover, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial. The volunteers were evaluated in two sessions, with a minimum 7-day interval. At each session, volunteers received either PBMT (300 J per thigh) or placebo treatment on the hamstrings prior to the simulated soccer match. Muscle strength and functional capacity were evaluated through isokinetic dynamometry and countermovement jump (CMJ) tests, respectively, before and immediately after the simulated soccer match. Players had lower reductions on hamstring eccentric peak torque [4.85% (ES = 0.31) vs. 8.72% (ES = 0.50)], hamstring-to-quadriceps torque ratio [3.60% (ES = 0.24) vs. 7.75% (ES = 0.50)], and CMJ height [1.77% (ES = 0.09) vs. 5.47% (ES = 0.32)] when treated with PBMT compared to placebo. Magnitude-based inference supports that PBMT promoted 75%, 69%, and 53% chances for beneficial effects on hamstring eccentric peak torque, hamstring-to-quadriceps torque ratio, and CMJ height, respectively, compared to placebo treatment. In conclusion, PBMT applied before a simulated soccer match proved to be effective in attenuating the hamstrings’ muscle fatigue. These findings support PBMT as a promising tool to prevent hamstring strain injury in soccer players.

  • Determination of Effective Dose of Ultraviolet Irradiation to Influent Water for Prevention of <i>Kudoa yasunagai</i> Infection

    摘要: We determined the minimum ultraviolet (UV) irradiation dose to influent water to prevent Kudoa yasunagai infection, using microscopy and qPCR. The infection prevalence in Seriola lalandi reared in untreated water reached 45% while that in fish reared in UV-treated water at 5 mJ/cm2 remained below 10%. Additionally, 5 mJ/cm2 UV irradiation significantly reduced spore formation in the brain. No infection was detected when the water was treated with UV at the doses 15 and 30 mJ/cm2. These results indicate that K. yasunagai actinospores are relatively vulnerable to UV irradiation and the minimum effective dose lies between 5 and 15 mJ/cm2.

  • Visible Light TiO <sub/>2</sub> Photocatalyst Composite Based on Carbon Microfiber Derived from Human Hair

    摘要: The present work reports titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalyst composite based on human hair that can operate efficiently under visible light. The human hair melanin structure contains active sites, which can be described as a carbon compound derived from a Quinone where one of two oxygen atoms is bonded to a hydrogen radical and that can be reversibly photogenerated under visible or ultraviolet irradiation. The human hair-derived microfibers (HHDMs) were created by the pyrolyzing hair at 850 °C, resulting in a rod-like hollow structure. TiO2 was immobilized on the pyrolyzed hair by a simple self-template method. The resulting composite was calcined at five different temperatures (150 to 350 °C). The HHDM and HHDM-TiO2 morphologies and the chemical compositions were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The HHDM-TiO2 photocatalytic efficiency in degrading methylene blue was investigated and compared to that of a conventional TiO2 catalyst (P25). HHDM-TiO2 was more effective for methylene blue degradation under visible light than the conventional P25 catalyst suspension due to the unique photosensitivity and porous structure of the composite. The catalyst calcined at 300 °C showed the best performance, which was 71% higher than that of the P25 catalyst.

    摘要: The purpose of body controls is to improve aspects of vehicle performance, such as comfort, usability, safety, theft prevention, serviceability, and the like. This is accomplished by controlling the output of motors, lamps, and the like, based on inputs mainly from switches and sensors. Table 1 lists some examples of products and functions that aim to improve these aspects of performance. Many of these body control products are designed to enhance the perceived value of the vehicle and to create an appealing impression to the user. For this reason, these controls were conventionally installed mainly in luxury vehicles. In recent years, however, technological innovations have reduced costs to the level where more and more have become available in mass-market vehicles.

  • Investigation on solidification cracks in pulsed laser spot welding of an AZ31 magnesium alloy

    摘要: A direction-dependent model of solidification crack initiation and propagation is established to analyze the influence of the melt pool shape on the distribution of solidification cracks in pulsed laser spot welding. The formation direction of the initial crack is related to the variation of the solidification parameters. When the aspect ratio of the spot welds with a default Rectangular pulse is greater than 0.3 and less than 0.8, an initial crack is formed in the 45° direction of the mushy zone, and then the crack propagates along the grain boundary. That is, the solidification cracks are distributed in the direction of 45° on both sides of the surface center of the welding cross-section. When the aspect ratio of the spot welds is less than 0.3 or greater than 0.8, an initial crack is formed in the 90° direction of the mushy zone, and then the solidification crack is vertically distributed at the center of the welding cross-section. The Step-Down-10ms-0.3P pulse can significantly reduce the solidification rate of the melt pool interface, preventing the formation of initial cracks in the sensitive directions of the spot welds with an aspect ratio less than 0.8, thereby eliminating solidification cracks.

    摘要: Stress-induced psychological and somatic diseases are virtually endemic nowadays. Written self-report anxiety measures are available; however, these indices tend to be time consuming to acquire. For medical patients, completing written reports can be burdensome if they are weak, in pain, or in acute anxiety states. Consequently, simple and fast non-invasive methods for assessing stress response from neurophysiological data are essential. In this paper, we report on a study that makes predictions of the state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI) index from oxyhemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin concentration changes of the prefrontal cortex using a two-channel portable near-infrared spectroscopy device. Predictions are achieved by constructing machine learning algorithms within a Bayesian framework with nonlinear basis function together with Markov Chain Monte Carlo implementation. In this paper, prediction experiments were performed against four different data sets, i.e., two comprising young subjects, and the remaining two comprising elderly subjects. The number of subjects in each data set varied between 17 and 20 and each subject participated only once. They were not asked to perform any task; instead, they were at rest. The root mean square errors for the four groups were 6.20, 6.62, 4.50, and 6.38, respectively. There appeared to be no significant distinctions of prediction accuracies between age groups and since the STAI are defined between 20 and 80, the predictions appeared reasonably accurate. The results indicate potential applications to practical situations such as stress management and medical practice.

    摘要: Incidents involving data breaches are ever-present in the media since several years. In order to overcome this threat, organizations apply enterprise content-aware data leakage prevention (DLP) solutions to monitor and control data access and usage. However, this paper argues that current solutions are not able to reliably protect information assets. The analyses of data breaches reported in 2014 reveal a significant number of data leakage incidents that are not within the focus of the DLP solutions. Furthermore, these analyses indicate that the classification of the provided data breach records is not qualified for detailed investigations. Therefore, advanced criteria for characterizing data leakage incidents are introduced, and the reported records are extended. The resulting analyses illustrate that DLP and information leakage prevention (ILP) demand various information security (IS) measures to be established in order to reduce the risk of technologically based data breaches. Furthermore, the effectiveness of DLP and information leakage prevention (ILP) measures is significantly influenced by non-technological aspects, such as the human factor. Therefore, this paper presents a concept for establishing DLP and ILP within the scope of IS.
