摘要: A novel modelling technique to design microwave 3D-printable ?lters based on arbitrarily height-modulated substrate integrated waveguides (SIW) is presented in this paper. In the literature, different topologies have been already employed to design ?lters based on SIW. Nevertheless, none of these solutions have analyzed the behavior of the modulation of the height of the ?lters. This is due to the dif?culty of manufacturing the prototypes with conventional procedures. In this paper, the techniques to design and manufacture these ?lters, provided with microstrip transitions for their validation, are presented.

摘要: This paper reports on a new type of substrate-integrated-waveguide (SIW) bandpass filters (BPFs) with multiple levels of transfer function adaptivity. They are based on series-cascaded in-line coaxial resonators and a coaxial-resonator-based transmission-zero (TZ) generation section. The proposed architecture allows the realization of the following reconfigurable characteristics: i) tunable center frequency with either constant absolute bandwidth (BW) or constant fractional bandwidth (FBW), ii) tunable BW, and iii) an intrinsically switched-off response. Alternative realization schemes using parallel and series resonators are discussed with the purpose of improving the stopband performance. For proof-of-concept demonstration purposes an L-band SIW-based BPF prototype was designed, manufactured and measured. It exhibited the following RF performance characteristics. Center frequency tuning between 1.24 and 1.8 GHz (1.5: tuning ratio), BW tuning between 190 and 78 MHz (2.44:1 tuning ratio) and intrinsic switching-off with > 30 dB of isolation in the range between 0.75 and 2.25 GHz.

摘要: In this paper, the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot array antenna using metasurface for cube satellite is operating sandwiched structure arranging a 2 × 5 periodic square conductor patch on the substrate integrated waveguide. As the surface wave excited in the SIW slot array propagates on the metasurface, additional resonance occurred and the impedance matching was better than the conventional antenna. The overall size of the final antenna was 6.75cm × 2.35cm × 0.37cm (1.07λ × 0.37λ × 0.06λ) at 4.74GHz. The simulated results have a bandwidth of 4.73-4.87 GHz (3.38%) satisfying the condition of |S11| < -10 dB. The maximum realization gain is 6.58 dB at 4.76 GHz.

An Effective Mixed Extracting Method for Electromagnetic Parameters of Periodically Loaded Substrate Integrated Waveguide Units and Its Applications
摘要: In this article, we propose an effective mixed extracting method for anisotropic constitutive parameters of periodically loaded substrate integrated waveguide (SIW). This method takes the advantage of both scattering parameters retrieval theory and the equivalent homogeneous medium dispersion analysis, which could accurately and effectively extract the equivalent constitutive parameters of the periodically loaded SIW. With this method, the corresponding constitutive parameters of the six typical patterns of periodically loaded SIW schemes are accurately extracted, veri?ed, explained, and compared for their performance. It can be used to quantitatively predict the miniaturization potential of each unit cell and sequentially evaluate the performance as an integrated component. In addition, in terms of application, with the aid of equivalent parameters extracted by the proposed method, a slow-wave SIW evanescent mode ?lter centered at 12.64 GHz with a frequency bandwidth of 300 MHz is synthesized, fabricated, and measured. In the meanwhile, the theory of slow-wave evanescent mode ?lter is further consummated, by introducing the dual factors of enhanced permittivity and permeability, as well as analyzing respective advantages in ?lter synthesis. Measurements and simulation results show good agreement, which embodies the role of the method in guiding the design of actual microwave devices.

摘要: This paper introduces and studies a new approach to enhance the gain of Microstrip Antenna Array using the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) in (Ku/K) band applications. The integration of SIW is first implemented in a single microstrip antenna and then in a 1x2 antenna array. This development is based on two designs, one for the 1x2 antenna array with microstrip feed-line with SIW and the other for the inset feed-line with SIW. All these structures are designed and simulated using the Rogers Duro?d TM5880substrate (εr= 2.2 and h = 0.5mm) by means of the High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The proposed design improved gain and sufficient bandwidth. Therefore, the maximum bandwidth and gain obtained from the 1x2 SIW sawtooth antenna array is 410 MHz and 9.27dBi respectively. In the end, the validation of the design 1x2 SIW antenna array is done by simulating the same antenna with another software CST. The results obtained from the both simulation software show a good agreement.

Substrate integrated waveguide based cavitya??backed selfa??triplexing slot antenna for Xa??Ku band applications
摘要: A planar substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based cavity-backed self-triplexing slot antenna is proposed for X-Ku band applications. The antenna comprises of the SIW cavity, radiating slots, and feeding networks. The radiating slots; that are etched on the upper metallic plane of the SIW, are backed up by the three radiated quarter cavities (QCs). The radiating slots in the respective QCs are of different lengths, excited by three separated orthogonal feed lines to resonate at three different frequencies as 11.01, 12.15, and 13.1 GHz. By fine-tuning the antenna parameters, an intrinsic input port isolation of better than 26 dB is realized which helps in achieving the self-triplexing property. The behaviors of individual cavity modes at three resonant frequencies are explained with the help of Z-parameter. The proposed antenna layout is easy to integrate with the planar circuit. The proposed antenna is fabricated and measured results display a close concern with the simulated results. Moreover, a unidirectional radiation pattern and gain of 5.1, 5.54, and 6.12 dBi at resonant frequencies are realized.

摘要: In this paper, ultra-wide-band SIW antenna technology is presented. The proposed antenna applies for 50 - 60 GHz applications such as 5 G and feature WLAN. The proposed antennas designed with two different slot configurations including the shape of F - C slots and circular slot shape. The simulated results show that the designed antennas resonates in the entire 50 to 60 GHz bands, making this new antenna cover all applications within this range. The reflection coefficients in all ranges from 50 to 60 GHz are below 10 dB. The antenna achieves good efficiency and gain.

摘要: A compact substrate integrated waveguide bandpass filter (SIW-BPF) with back-to-back dual-G-shaped stepped impedance resonator (DGS-SIR) pair is proposed. The DGS-SIR is etched on the top layer of the SIW. As a result, the proposed SIW-BPF loaded by DGS-SIR supports forward-wave propagation below the cutoff frequency of the SIW. Moreover, two transmission zeros (TZs) are generated in both sides of the passband. Consequently high selectivity, sharp roll-off, and compact size have been achieved. To validate the proposed design concept a compact SIW-BPF with DGS-SIR operating at 3 GHz has been designed and fabricated using microstrip and printed circuit board (PCB) technology. The measured results are in good agreement with the full-wave simulated results.

摘要: This paper presents a compact and low-profile bandpass filter (BPF) built of silica-based post-wall waveguide. The BPF adopts direct-coupled resonator filters based on cylindrical resonators. The filter is highly configurable in shape and allows flexible and compact design. A compact E-band hybrid-coupled diplexer is presented as an application. The dimensions of the BPF and diplexer are 4.0×4.0 mm2 and 9.4×9.9 mm2, respectively. The insertion loss of the lower passband of the diplexer is 1.52 dB at 72.9 GHz and that of the higher passband is 2.0 dB at 82.8 GHz
