A Novel Faraday-Cage Inspired FSS Shield for Stable Resonance Performance Characteristics
摘要: In this latter, a novel Faraday cage inspired frequency selective surface (FSS) array is illustrated to patch-type periodic element. A metallic via has been used to stow the two patch conducting arrays printed on either side of the substrate. The intended application of the proposed electromagnetic (EM) structure is at microwave frequencies for improved bandwidth characteristics and stable resonance response. The structure shows a very stable resonance performance up to 60o oblique incident angle and 11.52% improvement in its fractional bandwidth. In addition, the simulation results of proposed design prove the validity of proposed structure for high microwave powers. Finally, the fabricated prototype along with experimental results of the Faraday cage array show the efficacy of proposed structural design.

摘要: In this paper, a lotus-shaped slot antenna with SIW for dual-band applications those are 60 and 79 GHz frequencies is introduced and designed with the help of Rogers substrate (5880) with εr (cid:2) 2.2 and substrate thickness is 0.381 mm. This antenna will produce two resonant frequencies that are 60 GHz (covers bandwidth of 2.25 GHz, i.e., 58.868–61.122 GHz) and 79 GHz (covers a bandwidth of 3.05 GHz, i.e., 77.475–80.518 GHz). The simulation results of the proposed structure like re?ection coef?cient, radiation pattern, gain, radiation ef?ciency, VSWR, and surface current are observed.

A Dual Linearly Polarized End-Fire Antenna Array for The 5G Applications
摘要: A dual linearly polarized antenna array with end-fire radiation at the 60-GHz band is proposed by combining two types of magneto-electric dipoles (ME-dipole) which operate in vertical polarization (V-pol) and horizontal polarization (H-pol) respectively. Based on the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) structure, two kinds of ME-dipole are placed closely by sharing the same metallic post wall between them, achieving an element space of 0.77λ0. Besides, mutual coupling between the close elements is numerically analyzed and then suppressed by making modifications to the antenna structure. The proposed dual-polarized element achieves bandwidths of 26% and 32% (|S11| < -14 dB) for the V-pol and H-pol respectively. A 1×8 element array is designed, fabricated and measured. Good agreement is achieved between the measurement and simulation. For the V-pol excitation, a bandwidth of 21% is obtained and gain is up to 16.1 dB. For the H-pol excitation, the bandwidth is 18% and peak gain is 15.1 dB. Radiation patterns are stable over the operating frequencies with cross polarizations below -30 dB for both polarizations. The port isolation is very high above 45 dB. With all these advantages of dual polarization, end-fire radiation, stable gain and high port isolation, the proposed array is a potential candidate for the future 5G applications.

摘要: This paper presents a novel dual-port dual-band (28/38GHz) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna with stepped long slots (SLS) for base stations in fifth generation (5G) communication systems. A stepped long slot on the top side of an SIW waveguide with a changing width creates a wide and rotated beam, which is desired in some specific 5G applications. One of the unique advantages of the design is its embedded duplexer separating the 28 GHz and 38 GHz ports at opposite sides of the antenna. A wide impedance bandwidth in both bands is obtained. The realized gain of the antenna is around 11.56 dBi and 12.08 dBi in both bands, respectively. The 6 dB beamwidths are 23o and 16o at 28 GHz and 38 GHz. The structure has good frequency scanning properties and is suitable for sectored base station topologies.

摘要: This work presents a novel compact and broadband electronically controllable substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) phase shifter intended for beamsteering applications in antenna arrays for 5G wireless communication. The proposed phase shifter is designed to operate over a large bandwidth (26 GHz – 32 GHz) with a simulated maximum insertion loss of less than 3 dB and a maximum phase difference of more than 1000+50 over the entire band. The phase shift is provided via metal posts which are switched between capacitive and inductive loading through beam-lead PIN diodes.

LDS Realization of High-Q SIW Millimeter Wave Filters with Cyclo-Olefin Polymers
摘要: In this paper, we present narrow-band substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) millimeter wave band-pass ?lters, designed using cyclo-ole?n polymers (COP). The structures were molded, drilled, and metalized with a laser direct structuring (LDS) process. COP are a type of thermoplastic with low dielectric losses in the millimeter waveband, typically 7.5 × 10?4 at 40 GHz for the COP RS420-LDS from Zeon?. The body of the ?lter was realized using a molding process that facilitates the combination of thin 50 ? microstrip access lines with high thickness microwave cavities through 3D transitions, thus making high quality factors attainable. The simulations and experimental results are presented and discussed.

摘要: This paper introduces a planar orthomode transducer (OMT) using substrate integrated waveguides (SIWs) and substrate integrated coaxial lines (SICLs) that is entirely contained within two substrate layers. SICLs form a quadruplet of probes inside the metal waveguide with fully symmetrical geometry. Such a structure is smaller and lighter than a waveguide OMT, its construction is simpler than of a coaxial OMT, however, isolation and loss properties are less degraded compared to the use of planar unshielded technologies such as microstrip. A new wideband inline SICL to SIW transition has been developed to allow grade separation of SIWs belonging to opposite polarizations through different integrated substrate layers. The designed substrate probe-based OMT on RO4003CTM substrate covers the frequency band from 8.1 GHz to 12.5 GHz with return loss higher than 19 dB, insertion loss less than 1.2 dB, inter-port isolation higher than 62 dB and cross-polarization discrimination higher than 65 dB.

摘要: A 140 GHz linear to circular polarization converter based on a frequency selective surface (FSS) with high selectivity is proposed and designed in this paper. The periodic element of the converter includes a square substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity and two cross slots with stubs etched on the top and bottom conductor claddings of the cavity. Based on the SIW cavity, a transmission pole is provided to improve passband characteristics and sideband selectivity. Besides, this THz converter can be easily fabricated using normal PCB process instead of compacted and high-cost technologies.

COMPACT INLINE TRIPLET SIW FILTER WITH EMBEDDED SHORT-ENDED MICROSTRIP LINE
摘要: A compact triplet inline substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) bandpass ?lter is presented with sharp lower skirt and deep lower-stopband performance. The ?lter is composed of two SIW rectangular cavities and an embedded short-ended strip line on the top surface of two adjacent SIW cavities. A transmission zero can be generated by the cross coupling near the lower passband edge, which allows the ?lter implementation in inline with sharp lower skirt. Deep lower stopband performance is inherited from SIW. To validate the concept, a ?lter prototype with fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 4% at 5.75 GHz is designed, fabricated and measured. Good agreement can be obtained between the measured and simulated results.
