  • Solution-Deposited Solid-State Electrochromic Windows

    摘要: Commercially available electrochromic (EC) windows are based on solid-state devices in which WO3 and NiOx films commonly serve as the EC and counter electrode layers, respectively. These metal oxide layers are typically physically deposited under vacuum, a time- and capital-intensive process when using rigid substrates. Herein we report a facile solution deposition method for producing amorphous WO3 and NiOx layers that prove to be effective materials for a solid-state EC device. The full device containing these solution-processed layers demonstrates performance metrics that meet or exceed the benchmark set by devices containing physically deposited layers of the same compositions. The superior EC performance measured for our devices is attributed to the amorphous nature of the NiOx produced by the solution-based photodeposition method, which yields a more effective ion storage counter electrode relative to the crystalline NiOx layers that are more widely used. This versatile method yields a distinctive approach for constructing EC windows.

  • Performance study of spectroscopic DEPFET arrays with a pixel-wise storage functionality

    摘要: To maintain a good spectral performance even at high readout speeds, active pixel sensors like the DEPFET need to be equipped with a storage functionality. Enhancing the frame rate to its limit — the readout time per pixel itself — the charge collection and the readout need to be separated spatially to avoid a signi?cant degradation of the spectral performance. One implementation of a storage concept is the In?nipix DEPFET. The most promising In?nipix variant was investigated in greater detail to study the spectral performance for an array of 32 × 32 pixels. This includes the characterization of the temperature dependence and the contributions of the di?erent noise components. With an optimal set of temperature and timing parameters, a spectrum taken with an iron-55 source was analyzed with high statistics and the energy response for di?erent X-ray photon energies was evaluated.

  • Compact four-layer Timepix-based particle tracker WidePIX 3D: the first applications in X-ray CT imaging

    摘要: WidePIX 3D is a compact Timepix-based particle tracking detector with 3D position sensitivity. The device consists of four Timepix chips with 300 μm silicon sensors tightly stacked together. The sensor volume is, therefore, divided into a 3D array of 256 × 256 × 4 voxels. Dual-energy X-ray imaging with sandwich detector is already known as single-shot dual-energy X-ray radiography utilizing a two-layer detector. In the case of WidePIX 3D, the detector can provide up to four sample images produced by di?erent photon spectra from a single exposure. Furthermore, the detection threshold of each layer can be individually adjusted to optimize the resolving performance for elements expected within the scanned sample. In this contribution we present the ?rst results of using the WidePIX 3D detector as an imaging camera for multi-channel energy-sensitive X-ray CT. The procedure of precise threshold-energy calibration of the detector using characteristic X-ray lines will be described and material-resolving CT data will be demonstrated.

  • Fluorescence Behavior of Bis(cyanostyryl)pyrrole Derivatives Depending on Substituent Position of Cyano Groups in Solution and in Solid State

    摘要: We synthesized a novel fluorophores of distyrylpyrrole derivatives possessing cyano groups at different position on olefin. Their fluorescence properties in solution and solid state were investigated by photoluminescence quantum yield and lifetime measurement, which provided radiative decay constant (kf) and nonradiative decay constant (knr). The derivative with cyano groups at inner position of molecule, inner isomer, shows high fluorescence quantum yield (Φf = 0.43) in solution while another derivative with cyano group at outer position, outer isomer, hardly shows fluorescence (Φf < 0.01) due to the large nonradiative decay (knr > 10 ns?1). Upon formation of single crystal or nanoparticles, these difference were inverted; the quantum yield of outer and inner isomer was enhanced and diminished, respectively. We explained these differences between in solution and solid state by means of analysis of single X-ray structure and computation study.

  • Influence of compositional ratio K/Na on structure and piezoelectric properties in [(Na1?xKx)0.5Bi0.5]Ti0.985Ta0.015O3 ceramics

    摘要: [(Na1-xKx)0.5Bi0.5]Ti0.985Ta0.015O3 (abbreviated as Ta-NK100x) lead-free ceramics with good piezoelectric properties were prepared using a solid-state reaction method. The structure and electrical properties of Ta-NK100x had been systemically investigated. The highest bipolar strain of 0.458% and the unipolar strain 0.448% are achieved at x = 0.18 at 60 kV/cm. Meanwhile, the corresponding normalized strain d*33 reaches 747 pm/V. In addition, the unipolar strain of the poled Ta-NK18 increases to 0.537%, and corresponding d*33 increases slightly to 894.5 pm/V at 60 kV/cm. The electric-field-induced phase transition between ferroelectric and relaxor is found to play a dominant role in the origin of the large strain. Moreover, the strain behavior remains stable within 105 switching cycles which indicating the prepared ceramics are promising candidates for actuators and stress sensors.

    摘要: Occupancy grid maps are by far the most used spatial representation of the environment for robot navigation. This paper proposes a simple and effective way to improve the occupancy grid accuracy by superimposing a small oscillation to the robot motion when a predefined path is given. The method is especially suited for range sensors with long range capabilities but poor angular resolution. The innovative solid state LiDAR technology is an example of such sensor configuration and is used in this work for the experimental evaluation of the presented dithering technique. Experimental results quantitatively demonstrated that the proposed oscillating motion is effective especially in speeding up the detection of corridor like clearances in the environment.

  • Entanglement, nonclassical properties, and geometric phase in circuit quantum electrodynamics with relativistic motion

    摘要: In this work, we study qualitatively the nonclassical properties, nonlocal correlation, and geometric phase in a superconducting qubit system connected to a transmission line resonator (TLR) within a circuit quantum electrodynamics setup, where the modulation of the coupling strength can imitate the harmonic motion of the superconducting system at relativistic speeds. We analyze the effects of the relativistic motion on these quantum quantifiers under the influence of the physical parameters implicated in the whole quantum system state. Furthermore, the relationship between the different quantifiers is explored. Our results may open new perspectives to understand and explore the relativistic phenomena on the comportment of the quantum quantifiers for new applications in superconducting quantum technologies.

  • Structure-Selective Synthesis of Wurtzite and Zincblende ZnS, CdS, and CuInS <sub/>2</sub> Using Nanoparticle Cation Exchange Reactions

    摘要: For polymorphic solid-state systems containing multiple distinct crystal structures of the same composition, identifying rational pathways to selectively target one particular structure is an important synthetic capability. Cation exchange reactions can transform a growing library of metal chalcogenide nanocrystals into different phases by replacing the cation sublattice, often while retaining morphology and crystal structure. However, only a few examples have been demonstrated where multiple distinct phases in a polymorphic system could be selectively accessed using nanocrystal cation exchange reactions. Here, we show that roxbyite (hexagonal) and digenite (cubic) Cu2?xS nanoparticles transform upon cation exchange with Cd2+, Zn2+, and In3+ to wurtzite (hexagonal) and zincblende (cubic) CdS, ZnS, and CuInS2, respectively. These products retain the anion and cation sublattice features programmed into the copper sulfide template, and each phase forms to the exclusion of other known crystal structures. These results significantly expand the scope of structure-selective cation exchange reactions in polymorphic systems.

  • Mg and N co-doped CuCrO <sub/>2</sub> : A record breaking p-type TCO

    摘要: We prepare CuCrO2 thin ?lms with magnesium and nitrogen dopants. The solid state reaction method is employed to produce CuCrO2 targets with three different concentrations of Mg (0%, 2.5%, and 5%). The targets are used in an RF sputtering system to prepare thin ?lms in the presence of N2 as the reactive gas. In this manner, Mg and N atoms, respectively, replace Cr and O sites in the CuCrO2 structure and enhance the electrical and optical properties of the host material. This cationic-anionic substitution yields a superior hole transport and results in an increased conductivity of (cid:2)278 S cm(cid:3)1 which is considered as a record for p-type conductivity in transparent conducting oxides. Moreover, the co-doped CuCrO2 demonstrates a bandgap of 3.52 eV and a transmittance of about 69% in the visible region.
