    摘要: We use strain redistribution to locally enhance strain in GeSn layers. We demonstrate uniaxial tensile strain in microbridges with lasing cavities tuned over the 3.1 to 4.6μm range, and thresholds lower than 10 kW.cm-2 at 25K, in pulsed excitation mode. Laser operation vanishes around 273K.

  • Flexible and Highly Sensitive Strain Sensor Based on Laser-Induced Graphene Pattern Fabricated by 355 nm Pulsed Laser

    摘要: A laser-induced-graphene (LIG) pattern fabricated using a 355 nm pulsed laser was applied to a strain sensor. Structural analysis and functional evaluation of the LIG strain sensor were performed by Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging, and electrical–mechanical coupled testing. The electrical characteristics of the sensor with respect to laser fluence and focal length were evaluated. The sensor responded sensitively to small deformations, had a high gauge factor of ~160, and underwent mechanical fracture at 30% tensile strain. In addition, we have applied the LIG sensor, which has high sensitivity, a simple manufacturing process, and good durability, to human finger motion monitoring.

  • Development of Smart Structure for Satellite Using Optical Fiber Sensors

    摘要: 本開発では,はじめに,宇宙熱環境における太陽電池パネルの熱構造設計を地上試験で検証するため,光ファイバセンサを活用した健全性評価手法を開発した.本手法により,低温環境でのサブストレートのディンプル変形に起因するパネル内部の損傷発生を光ファイバセンサで検知できることを示した.次に,その開発技術を応用し,センサの着脱工程を削減して試験工期を短縮するため,光ファイバセンサ一体型衛星構造「スマート熱構造」の開発に取り組んだ.光ファイバ温度センサを開発し,数十点規模の温度センサとひずみセンサを備えた実験モデルを試作し,その製造性を確認した.また,その実験モデルを用いて,熱真空試験や四点曲げ試験を実施し,従来センサとほぼ同等の精度にて温度やひずみが計測できることを示した.さらに,スマート熱構造に搭載した電子機器内の部品にも温度センサを取り付けて動作試験を行い,従来では取得できなかった狭小部の温度も計測した.これらの結果から,スマート熱構造が実現可能であることを示した.

    摘要: This paper reports a novel method to modulate the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) by isotropically straining a polymeric substrate to induce reconfigurations of photonic nanostructures above the substrate. By macroscopic straining the substrate, the microscopic stress was transferred to the metallic nanostructures, which in turn induced different SPRs, as the operating principle. Studies indicated that although the substrate was anisotropically strained in limited directions, the SPR was modulated isotropically at the geometric center of the substrate. Demonstrative isotropic SPR modulation was achieved with a single and fundamental configuration of the nanostructures for the first time, and the tunable operation was proven by a color switched from blue to green. Comprehensive theoretical optical and mechanical designs, numerical mechanical evaluations, device fabrication, experimental verification, and analysis were conducted in this work.

  • Dislocation Mass-Transfer and Electrical Phenomena in Metals under Pulsed Laser Influence

    摘要: The influence of moving dislocations on mass-transfer and the phenomena, accompanying it in pulse-deformed metals is studied in a real-time. Transport of self-interstitial atoms (SIAs) by mobile edge dislocations in crystal with FCC lattice is investigated by molecular dynamics. A strain rate (106 s-1) and dislocation density (1010 – 1012 cm-2) in simulated crystal corresponds to a laser effect in a Q-factor mode. The experimental investigations in a real-time are performed by recording of electrical signal induced by the laser pulse irradiation of metal foils of different crystal structures.

  • Incorporating Statistical Test and Machine Intelligence Into Strain Typing of Staphylococcus haemolyticus Based on Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry

    摘要: Staphylococcus haemolyticus is one of the most significant coagulase-negative staphylococci, and it often causes severe infections. Rapid strain typing of pathogenic S. haemolyticus is indispensable in modern public health infectious disease control, infections to prevent further infectious facilitating the identification of the origin of outbreak. Rapid identification enables the effective control of pathogenic infections, which is tremendously beneficial to critically ill patients. However, the existing strain typing methods, such as multi-locus sequencing, are of relatively high cost and comparatively time-consuming. A practical method for the rapid strain typing of pathogens, suitable for routine use in clinics and hospitals, is still not available. Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry combined with machine learning approaches is a promising method to carry out rapid strain typing. In this study, we developed a statistical test-based method to determine the reference spectrum when dealing with alignment of mass spectra datasets, and constructed machine learning-based classifiers for categorizing different strains of S. haemolyticus. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and accuracy of multi-class predictions were 0.848 and 0.866, respectively. Additionally, we employed a variety of statistical tests and feature-selection strategies to identify the discriminative peaks that can substantially contribute to strain typing. This study not only incorporates statistical test-based methods to manage the alignment of mass spectra datasets but also provides a practical means to accomplish rapid strain typing of S. haemolyticus.

  • Conversion efficiency of strained type-II core/shell quantum dot solar cell

    摘要: In this study, the conversion efficiency (CE) of a core/shell quantum dot (QD) with type-II structure is studied by the detailed balance model. In particular, a size dependent strain effect caused by the lattice mismatch is considered since the CE under the detailed balance model is strongly dependent on the band gap of materials. The results show that the strain effect has a very important influence on the CE, and the multiple exction generation (MEG) can significantly increase the CE, so it must be considered in such a low-dimensional system.

    摘要: Optical fiber sensors based on waist-enlarged structure and spherical structure were proposed for strain measurement. Their fabrication process and experimental results were compared. The strain sensitivities of the sensors based on the waist-enlarged structure and the spherical structure are -0.66pm/με and -1.28pm/με, respectively.   • Classification of the factors causing the change of the optical fiber strain by using the Brillouin reflectograms

    摘要: A classification of the factors causing the change of the optical fiber strain by using the Brillouin reflectograms is considered. The differences of Brillouin reflectograms with strain along the optical waveguide are discussed under various impacts: temperature and mechanical longitudinal stretching. Reference Brillouin reflectograms for different kinds of optical fibers from the database are capable of improving a process of classification of potentially hazardous sections (sections of optical fibers with high mechanical strain or changed temperature) in the optical fiber. The results presented in this paper allow us on the basis of the analysis of Brillouin multi-reflectograms to identify a factor that has a predominant impact on the fiber strain in the investigated sections of the optical fibers in fiber optical communication lines.

  • Improved algorithms for determining the strain of optical fibers using Brillouin reflectometers

    摘要: The issues of improved algorithms for determining the strain of optical fibers using Brillouin reflectometers are investigated. Structure charts of devices for early diagnostics of optical fibers are presented. Adaptive algorithms for construction of Brillouin reflectograms: patterns of Brillouin frequency shift and strain distribution along the optical waveguide are considered. Reference Brillouin reflectograms for different optical fibers from the database are required to correctly detect the “problem” segments (segments of optical fibers with increased mechanical strain or with transformed temperature) in the optical waveguide.
