Terbium Oxalatophosphonate as Efficient Multiresponsive Luminescent Sensors for Chromate Anions and Tryptophan Molecules
摘要: A stable 2D terbium oxalatophosphonate with green luminescence, namely, [Tb2(H3L)(C2O4)3(H2O)4]·2H2O (1), has been hydrothermally obtained by using (4-carboxypiperidyl)-N-methylenephosphonic acid (H3L) and oxalate ligand. The luminescent investigation indicates that the emission behavior of compound 1 shows high water and pH stabilities. It can be applied as a multiresponsive luminescent probe with high selectivity, high sensitivity, recycling capability, and fast sensing of CrO42?, Cr2O72? anions and tryptophan (Trp) molecules in aqueous solution through the luminescence quenching effect. Moreover, the sensing results can be distinguished by the naked eye under the irradiation of UV light of 254 nm. In addition, the probable mechanisms for the quenching behavior are also discussed, which can be mainly attributed to the competitive absorption of excitation energy between compound 1 and the analytes.

Enhanced Quenching Effect of Neonicotinoid Pesticides on Time-Resolved Terbium Luminescence in Presence of Surfactants
摘要: A luminescence analytical method for the quantification of neonicotinoid pesticides (acetamiprid, clothianidin, dinotefuran, imidacloprid, nitenpyram, thiacloprid, and thiamethoxam) in water samples is proposed. The method is based on the quenching effect that these analytes produce on the time-resolved luminescence signal of terbium ions (excitation/emission wavelengths of 256/545 nm/nm). An enhancement on the analytical signal is observed when surfactants are used in the system. The use of a 0.01 mol·L?1 sodium dodecyl sulfate produced approximately a 30% increase in the sensitivity of the method. Under the optimum conditions, the method presented detection limits between 0.03 and 0.23 μg·mL?1. Interference studies were performed for ions commonly present in waters, observing no interferences. In addition, recovery experiments were performed in different waters, well, spring, and swamp, observing recovery yields close to 100%, with relative standard deviations lower than 4% in all cases. No sample treatment except a filtration step was required. Hence, this method may represent an alternative to other existing methods for the quick and simple analysis of these ubiquitous insecticides in environmental waters.

Effects of Al3+ substitution on the luminescence properties of LuNbO4 doped with Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions
摘要: The effect of Al3+ substitution on the enhancement of the luminescence of Lu1–xAlxNbO4:Eu3+ and Lu1–xAlxNbO4:Tb3+ was investigated. X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed that the Eu3+, Tb3+, and Al3+ ions were fully incorporated into the Lu3+ sites. In the case of Lu1–xAlxNbO4:Eu3+, the predominant red emission (614 nm) was assigned to the 5D0 → 7F2 transition of Eu3+ and for x = 0–0.05, its intensity increased up to ~125 and 108% under 395 nm (7F0 → 5L6) and a charge transfer band excitation, respectively. For Lu1–xAlxNbO4:Tb3+, the strongest emission band peaking at 551 nm was attained in the green region among multiple emission bands corresponding to the 5D4 → 7FJ transitions of Tb3+. Increasing the x values from 0 to 0.05 increased the green emission significantly by ~137%. These phenomena were explained by the local structural distortions and crystal field asymmetry surrounding Eu3+ and Tb3+, which were attributed to a large difference in the ionic radii of Al3+ and Lu3+.
