  • Direct and photon-assisted tunneling in resonant-cavity quantum-well light-emitting transistors

    摘要: Tunneling in a transistor is a critical quantum process toward the next-generation, energy-efficient, high-speed data transfer for both electrical and optical communications. In this work, resonant-cavity quantum-well light-emitting transistors with tunneling collector junctions are designed and fabricated. Three distinctive tunneling mechanisms are clearly identified by the transistor optical output family curves, namely, electron direct tunneling (DT) from collector to base, electron DT from base to collector, and intra-cavity photon-assisted electron tunneling from base to collector. The device operations under both direct and photon-assisted tunneling are explained in detail by the intra-cavity quantum transition of electron-hole pair to photon dynamics. The tunnel junction and the corresponding carrier tunneling injection suggest the possibility of utilizing tunneling to achieve high-speed optoelectronics operations.

  • Fabrication of ternary visible-light-driven semiconductor photocatalyst and its effective photocatalytic performance

    摘要: Heterogeneous semiconductor photocatalysis has been considered as a cost-effective alternative for the eliminating hazardous pollutants and generating sustainable energy. Graphene, a 2D allotrope of carbon, has received significant attentions due to its outstanding properties. In this work, a highly efficient visible-light-driven ternary heterostructure semiconductor RGO/Ag2O/Ag2WO4 (RGAAW) Ag-based photocatalyst was prepared and its photocatalytic activity was evaluated by photodegradation of methylene orange (MO). The morphology, structure and optical absorption properties of the as-prepared RGAAW were characterized by SEM, XRD, XPS, FT-IR and UV?vis DRS, respectively. The obtained result was found that the as-prepared RGAAW exhibited the excellent photocatalytic activity, which was almost 11.5 and 7 times as high as those of individual Ag2O and Ag2WO4, respectively. The enhancement of photocatalytic performance could be attributed to the reduced graphene oxide sheets can function as an electron collector and transporter to lengthen the lifetime of the charge carriers. Moreover, the as-prepared RGAAW showed excellent stability toward the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO). The possible mechanism of photocatalytic activity enhancement was proposed.

  • Piezo-phototronic effect on optoelectronic nanodevices

    摘要: Optoelectronic nanoscale devices have wide applications in chemical, biological, and medical technologies. Improving the performance efficiency of these devices remains a challenge. Performance is mainly dictated by the structure and characteristics of the semiconductor materials. Once a nanodevice is fabricated, its efficiency is determined. The key to improving efficiency is to control the interfaces in the device. In this article, we describe how the piezo-phototronic effect can be effectively utilized to modulate the band at the interface of a metal/semiconductor contact or a p–n junction to enhance the external efficiency of many optoelectronic nanoscale devices such as photodetectors, solar cells, and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The piezo-phototronic effect can be highly effective at enhancing the efficiency of energy conversion in today’s green and renewable energy technology without using the sophisticated nanofabrication procedures that have high cost and complexity.

  • Co <sub/>3</sub> O <sub/>4</sub> nanoparticles decorated Ag <sub/>3</sub> PO <sub/>4</sub> as heterostructure for improving solar-light-driven photocatalysis

    摘要: As a common photocatalytic material, Ag3PO4 still faces the challenge including the fast recombination of photo-generated electron-hole (e--h+) pairs. In this work, we prepared Co3O4/Ag3PO4 heterojunction with good optical properties by an in-situ precipitation method. Compared to pure Ag3PO4, the Co3O4/Ag3PO4 exhibited greatly improved photocatalytic activities for degradation methylene blue (MB) and bisphenol A (BPA) under the visible light irradiation. Here, the degradation rate of MB could reach up to 12% which is about 35% higher than that of pure Ag3PO4, after 18 min irradiation. The degradation rate of BPA could reach up to 33% which is about 45% higher than the pure Ag3PO4. This work may provide insight for finding a new Ag3PO4 photocatalyst for promoting the photocatalytic performance

  • Influence of Light Emitting Diode on Bone Marrow and Healing of Dermatome Wounds

    摘要: The irradiation of large surfaces or whole body with light emitting diode LED λ-470 nm and λ-940 nm (LED shower) causes structural changes in bone marrow and stimulates healing of experimental dermatome wounds. The increase of migration of the bone marrow cells in derma and epithelial layers of skin indicates that LED-shower intensifies intercellular interactions and cells migration between tissues.

  • Effet de l’interaction lumiere-salinite sur l’activite du photosysteme ii des feuilles excisees de ma?s

    摘要: The decline in growth observed in many plants, subjected to salt stress and exposed to sunlight conditions, is often associated with a decrease in their photosynthetic activity. No clear mechanisms of the inhibited photosynthesis have emerged since photosystem II (PS II) is considered to play a key role in the response of leaf photosynthesis to environmental perturbations. The combination of light and salt stress appears to have synergistic effects on the photochemical activity of PSII driving, and to photoinhibition. The objective of this study was to evaluate the reversible effect of salinity and light interaction on maximal quantum efficiency of photosystem II (Fv/Fm.). In this experiment, detached leaves of two forage maize (Zea mays L.) varieties, Aristo and Arper were placed during 6 hours in solutions of different concentrations of NaCl (0, 100, 200 and 300 mM) and subjected to light (1000 μmol m-2 s-1) or obscurity. Then, their contents of sodium were determined. In order to verify the photo-inhibition reversibility, other leaves which were incubated in a solution of 300 Mm NaCl, during 4 hours were transferred in distilled water and also subjected to light or to obscurity. Results indicate that leaves which had been put to absorb NaCl in obscurity showed no change in maximal efficiency of PSII (Fv/Fm). Nevertheless, light treatment associated with salinity generates a photo-inhibition of PSII manifested by a significant decrease in maximal efficiency of PSII. This photo-inhibition, due to an excessive accumulation of sodium in leaves, is reversible. It is quite sufficient to eliminate only one factor of the association light-salinity for the PSII activity resume.

    摘要: The development of radioelectronics and informative–and–communicative technologies of the XXI century is associated with the transmission of ever increasing volume of data and is oriented to use of subTHz and THz bands – SHF, EHF, and HHF (0.1 – 10 THz). Elements and devices of these bands can be conditionally divided into 2 levels: up to 1THz electronic equipments are effectively uses, over 1 THz –are photonic devices. The development of photonic technologies is of increasing importance both in the telecommunicative and in the space communication systems. In this report the physical phenomena and processes occurring in magnetooptical (magnetophotonic) composite material media capable of optimally ensuring their efficiency have been investigated to create new element baseline for domestic radioelectronics. The creation of new–generation functional devices capable of operating in subTHz and THz frequency bands will entail the rapid development of telecommunications.

    摘要: The human-luminous environment interaction is a topic of interest to the scientific community from the perspectives of comfort and health. The widespread introduction of innovative lighting sources, often justified by energy-saving reasons, poses new challenges for evaluating their emissions and estimating their photobiological effects. In this paper, the results of a measurement campaign to characterize the artificial optical radiation emitted by LED sources suitable for replacing traditional sources used in general lighting are discussed and compared with similar results obtained for fluorescent tubes. The evaluation methods described and the measurement results shown in this paper can be useful for those who regularly perform risk assessments of work environments.

  • Light Emitting Diodes Based on Inorganic Composite Halide Perovskites

    摘要: CsPbBr3 is a promising type of light-emitting halide perovskite with inorganic composition and desirable thermal stability. The luminescence efficiency of pristine CsPbBr3 thin films, however, appears to be limited. In this work, light emitting diodes based on CsPbBr3|Cs4PbBr6 composites are demonstrated. Both quantum efficiency and emission brightness are improved significantly compared with similar devices constructed using pure CsPbBr3. The high brightness can be attributed to the enhanced radiative recombination from CsPbBr3 crystallites confined in the Cs4PbBr6 host matrix. The unfavorable charge transport property of Cs4PbBr6 can be circumvented by optimizing the ratio between the host and the guest components and the total thickness of the composite thin films. The inorganic composition of the emitting layer also leads to improved device stability under the condition of continuous operation.

    摘要: Dynamic recognition of objects labeled by visible light IDs is numerically investigated for obtaining a high optical signal-to-noise ratio in received optical signals when a relative motion between the objects and observer considerably alters. An averaging effect of pixel values in an image sensor shows a trade-off between reductions in accumulated image sensor noises and spatially varying noises originating from the relative motion. Our results suggest that a real-time optimization of the averaging process is suitable for an efficient recognition of visible light IDs toward applications for the disaster risk reduction.
