Super compact and ultra-wideband bandpass filter with a wide upper stopband based on a SCRLH transmission-line unit-cell and two lumped capacitors
摘要: This paper presents a simplified composite right/left-handed transmission-line (SCRLH-TL) unit-cell, which is primarily consisted of a rectangular ring with two grounded vias. Superposing this unit-cell onto a high–low–high step-impedance resonator (SIR) leads to a novel SCRLH-TL multiple-mode resonator (SCRLH-TL MMR). By combining the SCRLH-TL MMR with a cross-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) and using a broadside coupling approach with two lumped capacitors, a highly compact and ultra-wideband bandpass filter was carefully designed and fully investigated. The filter was fabricated by using a conventional PCB process with the substrate of FR4. The measured 3-dB passband ranges from 2.55 through 11.75 GHz with the fractional bandwidth (FBW) of about 129%. The filter exhibits a high selectivity with steep skirt property, and has a wide upper stopband. Its total dimension, including the rectangular substrate with feed lines, occupies only 13.5 mm × 6.0 mm, which is found with the smallest size in comparison to those recently published in the literature.

ULTRA-WIDEBAND FOUR-WAY IN-PHASE MULTILAYER POWER DIVIDER WITH HIGH ISOLATION
摘要: A novel ultra-wideband four-way in-phase multilayer power divider based on the microstrip-to-slotline transition is proposed in this paper as a complemental slotline power divider with high isolation. Due to the introduction of three lumped isolation resistors, the isolations between output ports in the new structure have been improved. The design expressions have been derived by making use of odd-mode and even-mode method. Both simulated and measured results have proved that the proposed power divider has good impedance matching at all ports, high isolations between output ports, excellent amplitude and phase balance, as well as ?at group delay over the wide frequency range from 3.8 GHz to 11 GHz.

SUPER COMPACT MICROSTRIP UWB BPF WITH TRIPLE-NOTCHED BANDS
摘要: A new super compact ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass ?lter (BPF) with triple-notched bands is presented in this paper. Firstly, a new square ring quad-mode resonator (SRQMR) is employed to obtain the initial UWB BPF. Then, a triple-mode stepped impedance resonator (SIR) is inserted into the initial UWB BPF to achieve three desired notched bands. The proposed triple-mode SIR is found to have the advantages of introducing triple-notched bands and provide a higher degree of freedom to adjust the resonant frequencies. To validate the design concept, a new super compact UWB BPF with triple-notched bands respectively centered at frequencies of 3.7 GHz, 5.2 GHz and 7.8 GHz is designed and measured. The predicted results are compared with measured data, and good agreement is reported.

摘要: Ultra-wideband harmonic rejection bandpass and bandstop frequency-selective surfaces (FSS) based on L-C lumped elements are proposed. The bandpass response is achieved by parallel combination of LC resonant circuit. While is accomplished by series combination. Detailed analysis with the aid of an equivalent circuit models is provided to explain the operating principles and parasitic effects for both FSSs. Bandwidths of 19:1 and 24.5:1 harmonic rejection are achieved between the fundamental frequency and the first harmonic for bandpass and bandstop FSSs, respectively. Controllable resonant frequency and bandwidth are possible by controlling the lumped element’s value. To validate the simulated results, a bandpass FSS prototype is fabricated and measured. It is shown that this methodology is suitable for low frequencies due to the parasitic capacitor associated with the lumped inductor at high frequencies and the change of the component’s value with frequency.

摘要: A novel circular-polarization (CP) ultra-wideband dielectric rod antenna design has been developed for operating from X to Ka band. The radiation tip design was based on the previous dual linear-polarization 3-layer dielectric rod design. A novel CP wave-launcher composed of conical spiral arms was developed. This launcher does not require balun or quadrature-phase hybrid. In addition, a novel quadrifilar conducting enclosure was introduced to minimize overall antenna diameter while maintaining good axial ratio at the low frequency end. The simulated antenna performance exhibits an axial ratio (AR) of less than 3 dB, stable gain, stable beamwidth, and stable phase center from 10 to 40 GHz.

摘要: In this paper, a novel uneven-layered metamaterial tile is proposed for ultra-wideband radar cross section (RCS) reduction. The metamaterial tile is composed of two kinds of square ring unit cells with different layer thickness. The reflection phase difference of 180° (±37°) between two unit cells covers an ultra-wide frequency range. The metamaterial tile can achieve -10 dB RCS reduction from 6.2 GHz to 25.7 GHz with the ratio bandwidth of 4.15:1 at normal incidence. The measured and simulated results are in good agreement and validate the proposed uneven-layered metamaterial tile can greatly expanding the bandwidth for RCS reduction.

摘要: This paper presents a monopole ultra-wideband (UWB) patch antenna with enhanced bandwidth performance. The reference antenna has a square radiator and fed by a microstrip feed line. The other side of the substrate has a partial ground plane. A trapezoidal slot configuration with proper dimension has been inserted to upper edge of the partial ground plane under the feed line to modify the reference antenna bandwidth characteristics. Additionally, two rectangular shapes have been cut from the edge of the square patch to add another bandwidth improvement. The simulation results prove that the antenna fractional bandwidth of the reference antenna is 122.49 % while for the final antenna model is 147.28 %. The antenna maximum gain, radiation characteristics, radiation efficiency, and group delay characteristics are also investigated.

摘要: Recently, impulse radio-ultra wideband is widely used for highly accurate location estimation of robots and objects in indoor space for building automation. For their accurate positioning, calibration must be performed after the positioning system is installed, and a compensation technique of the multipath signals should be performed in real-time. In this paper, a real-time calibration and error compensation method is proposed. A filter that estimates channel common error and channel-specific error sequentially is designed based on cubature Kalman filter and the fast and accurate estimation performance of this filter is verified experimentally.

摘要: A CPW-fed ultra-wideband multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) antenna with T-shape slot ground having the overall size of 23.73 mm × 50.53 mm only, is presented in this paper. The proposed MIMO antenna consists of two orthogonally placed elliptic antenna elements excited by coplanar waveguide structures. The proposed MIMO antenna have 17dB high isolation for the whole operating band. The antenna operates from 3.2GHz to 8GHz. Furthermore, the T-shape slot has etched at ground of antenna. The T-shape slot not only further reduces the minimum operating frequency of the antenna but also expand the bandwidth about 8GHz.In this arrangement, the antenna operates from 3.1GHz to 15GHz. By inserting the parasitic strip between the two grounds, the antenna bandwidth expands from 3.1GHz to 16.8GHz.The observed isolation is from 17.3dB to the 20dB.

摘要: This paper presents a compact design of UWB antenna with reconfigurable dual notch bands is proposed. The UWB antenna with a notch filter consists of a circular antenna and two-pairs of L-shaped resonators. To realize the notch characteristics in WLAN at 5.2 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands, a half wavelength of L-resonator is introduced in the radiating patch. A small T-shaped notch is etched in the partial ground plane to enhance the UWB bandwidth up to 7.513 GHz, which covers the frequency range from 3.048 - 10.561 GHz. An experimental proposed structure shows a good agreement with the simulated results. Furthermore, the proposed UWB antenna with notch filter has a compact size of 37.6 x 28 mm2. This proposed design can give an alternative solution for eliminating WLAN interferes in the UWB bands by designing the notch filter with a good tuning capability.
