摘要: We use L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar data to reveal crustal deformation associated with the eruption of Sierra Negra volcano, Galápagos Island, on June 26, 2018. Intensity analysis revealed the area of lava flowing out from the northside of the mountain. Interferograms resulted in large surface displacement in the crater as well as the northwestern slope of the summit. Using the offset fields from ascending and descending orbit data, we calculated 3D deformation, showing about 8 m subsidence in the crater. The amount of the deformation was greater than that in the previous eruptions, which implies the volume of magma accumulation and flowing out can be larger than that in the past events.
