  • Organic semiconducting polymer amphiphile for near-infrared-II light-triggered phototheranostics

    摘要: Development of near-infrared-II (NIR-II) light responsive nano-agents with high photothermal stability, high photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE), and excellent biocompatibility for photoacoustic (PA) imaging-guided photothermal therapy (PTT) is of tremendous significance. In spite of the superiority of organic semiconducting polymer nanoparticles (OSPNs) in PA imaging-guided PTT, the limited absorption in the first NIR (NIR-I) window and metastable nanostructure of OSPNs resulting from commonly used preparation methods based on nanoprecipitation or reprecipitation compromise their in vivo phototheranostic performance. Herein we design and synthesize a novel NIR-II absorbing organic semiconducting polymer amphiphile (OSPA) to enhance the structural stability of OSPNs. With prominent optical properties, low toxicity, and a suitable size, OSPA not only efficiently labels and kills cancer cells under NIR-II irradiation but also accumulates at the tumor of living mice upon intravenous injection, allowing efficient NIR-II light-triggered phototheranostics toward tumor. The developed OSPA has promising potential for fabricating multifunctional nanoplatforms to enable multimodal theranostics.

  • Unsaturation‐dependent Nanostructures Self‐assembled from Oligopeptide Amphiphile Capable of Generating Singlet Oxygen

    摘要: We report here on three oligopeptide amphiphiles (OPA1-3) with different unsaturated double bonds, which self-assemble into shape-specific nanostructures. It was found that OPA1 with saturated hydrophobic tail self-assembled into conventional cylindrical nanofibers, while the unsaturated OPA2-3 molecules self-organized into helical nanoarchitectures. Due to the different double bond numbers in hydrophobic tails of OPA2-3, the helical pitch and width of their self-assemblies varied. Specially, linoleic acid-bearing OPA3 could be oxidized by lipoxidase to create hydroperoxide-containing OPA4, which further generated singlet oxygen (1O2) in the presence of catalytic iron (II) ion. The established system may provide a self-deliverable nanoplatform for 1O2-mediated cancer treatment.

  • 39.4: <i>Invited Paper:</i> Self-alignment of liquid crystal for multi-domain liquid-crystal display

    摘要: By introducing photopolymerizable amphiphile organic monomers(PAOM) into nematic liquid crystals (NLC) with controlled amount of UV-curable reactive mesogen (RM), a multi-domain vertical-alignment LC device was successfully demonstrated. The device, possessing a vertically aligned LC director in four different azimuthal directions, exhibited a fast response time, wide-viewing-angle characteristics and high voltage holding ratio(VHR), in the absence of conventional polyimides vertical-alignment layers. The formation of automatic and robust vertical alignment layer was analyzed by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).
