Coupled Plasmon Oscillations in a Cluster Consisting of Three Silver Nanocylinders with Different Diameters
摘要: 2D problem of the diffraction of the TM plane electromagnetic wave by a cluster consisting of three self-similar silver nanocylinders with different sizes is considered. Rigorous numerical procedures are used to study quasi-static plasmon resonances in such a cluster. Frequency characteristics of the scattering cross section and spatial structure of the field in the vicinity of the cylinders are calculated for different angles of incidence of the plane wave, self-similarity coefficients, and diameters of cylinders. It is shown that an increase in the distance between the cylinders is accompanied by degeneration of the resonances of scattering cross section. When real loss of silver is taken into account, electric field at the exit of the cluster cannot be amplified by a factor of greater than 10.

Sensitive Detection of Prostate Specific Antigen Based on Copper Ions Doped Ag-Au Nanospheres Labeled Immunosensor
摘要: A sandwich-type electrochemical immunosensor was designed for quantitative detection of prostate speci?c antigen (PSA). Gold-platinum bimetallic functionalized tin oxide graphene (GS-SnO2-Au@Pt) has a large speci?c surface area, good conductivity and biocompatibility, which was used as the sensing interface to capture PSA coating antibody (Ab1). The copper ions doped Ag-Au nanospheres (Cu2+@Ag-Au) was prepared and used as a label of PSA labeling antibody (Ab2), which generated high intensive electrochemical redox signal based on the reduction reaction of Cu2+. The L-cysteine was applied as a bridge to connect Au nanoparticles (NPs) and Ag NPs, and to keep the nanosized gap between Au nuclear and Ag shell. This structure not only makes full advantage of space effect to load more Ag NPs but also increases the speci?c surface area for loaded more Cu2+. The proposed immunosensor with a wide range (10 pg mL?1 to 100 ng mL?1) and a low detection limit (3.84 pg mL?1) shows excellent performance in the detection of PSA. The results indicate that proposed immunosensor provides a promising application for the quantitative detection of biomolecules in serum samples.

Numerical Study of Amplification of Subnanosecond Radiation Pulses in the Gas Amplifier of the THL-100 Laser System
摘要: Methods for increasing the energy characteristics of the THL-100 hybrid laser system are investigated by numerical modeling. The influence of the input laser radiation energy and system of mirrors on the energy and maximal laser radiation intensity in the amplifier is investigated. The systems of amplifier mirrors in which the number of passes of the active medium changed from Nm = 27 to 39 are considered. It is shown that at Nm =27, an increase in the pump energy of the amplifier from 270 to 400 J allows the output radiation energy to be increased by a factor of 2.6 (to 8.34 J) with a maximal radiation intensity in the amplifier no more than 7 GW?cm–2. Pulse compression to an initial duration of 50 fs will allow the average output power of the THL-100 system to be increased up to 160 TW.

摘要: Structure that consists of glass prism, with successively applied two dielectric layers with small and high refractive indices has been analyzed using matrix method. Moreover, the second waveguide layer has complex refraction index. In the case of absorbing layer, for optical waves with certain wavelengths and angles of incidence, the reflection coefficient is equal to zero. In the other case, where the dielectric layer with complex refractive index has amplifying properties, the reflection coefficient at certain wavelengths and angles of incidence becomes significantly high.

74.38 Tb/s Transmission Over 6300 km Single Mode Fibre Enabled by C+L Amplification and Geometrically Shaped PDM-64QAM
摘要: Ultrawide-bandwidth optical amplification over almost 90 nm, covering the C+L bands, is described. Complemented by system-tailored geometrical constellation shaping and nonlinearity compensation, it enabled a record capacity transmission of 74.38 Tb/s over 6,300 km of G.654 single-mode fibre. The hybrid scheme, combining backward Raman pre-amplification with EDFA, significantly improves the average effective noise figure across the entire bandwidth, allowing the use of span lengths of 70 km. The system-tailored GS-64QAM constellation was optimised to both linear link impairments and transceiver nonlinearities, improving the gap to the AWGN channel capacity relative to square 64QAM from 0.6 bit/symbol to 0.35 bit/symbol. We experimentally evaluated the system performance using the bit-wise achievable information rate (AIR) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the end of transmission, as well as post SD-FEC BER.

Amplified Split Aptamer Sensor Delivered Using Block Copolymer Nanoparticles for Small Molecule Imaging in Living Cells
摘要: We develop a novel amplified split aptamer sensor for highly sensitive detection and imaging of small molecules in living cells by using cationic block copolymer nanoparticles (BCNs) with entrapped fluorescent conjugated polymer as a delivery agent. The design of split aptamer as the initiator of hybridization chain reaction (HCR) affords the possibility of enhancing the signal-to-background ratio and thus allows high-contrast imaging for small molecules with relatively weak interactions with their aptamers. The novel design of using fluorescent cationic BCNs as the nanocarrier enables efficient and self-tracking transfection of DNA probes. Results reveal that BCNs exhibit high fluorescence brightness allowing direct tracking of the delivery location. The developed amplified split aptamer sensor is shown to have high sensitivity and selectivity for in vitro quantitative detection of ATP with a detection limit of 30 nM. Live cell studies show that the sensor provides a "signal on" approach for specific, high-contrast imaging of ATP. The DNA sensor based HCR system may provide a new generally applicable platform for detection and imaging of low-abundance biomarkers.

A Sample-to-Targeted Gene Analysis Biochip for Nanofluidic Manipulation of Solid-Phase Circulating Tumor Nucleic Acid Amplification in Liquid Biopsies
摘要: The use of circulating tumor nucleic acids (ctNA) in patient liquid biopsies for targeted genetic analysis is rapidly increasing in clinical oncology. Still, the call for an integrated methodology that is both rapid and sensitive for analyzing trace ctNA amount in liquid biopsies, has unfortunately not been fully realized. Herein, we performed complex liquid biopsy sample-to-targeted genetic analysis on a biochip with 50 copies-detection limit within 30 min. Our biochip uniquely integrated: 1) electrical lysis and release of cellular targets with minimal processing; 2) nanofluidic manipulation to accelerate molecular kinetics of solid-phase isothermal amplification; 3) single-step capture and amplification of multiple NA targets prior to nanozyme-mediated electrochemical detection. Using prostate cancer liquid biopsies, we successfully demonstrated multifunctionality for cancer risk prediction; correlation of serum and urine analyses; and cancer relapse monitoring.

Gram Scale Synthesis of Isolated Monodisperse Gold Nanorods
摘要: While the gold nanorods (AuNRs) possess a strong potential application in nanotechnology, plasmonics and sensing, the scale-up synthesis of isolated AuNRs in gram quantity remains a challenge. Nearly all previously reported methods produce aqueous solutions of CTAB-coated AuNRs in milligram quantities with the yield of ~20-30 % in terms of Au (I) to Au (0) conversion. In addition, it is difficult to remove CTAB bilayer from the surface of AuNRs and yet make them soluble and functionalized for further processing and chemical modification. This report describes the synthesis of monodisperse functionalized AuNRs (σ~5%) in gram quantities. Our approach is to increase the concentration of HAuCl4.3H20 in the growth solution to produce larger quantities of starting AuNRs and further reduce the remaining Au (I) ions onto the surface of AuNRs. The slow and controlled addition of reducing agent ascorbic acid (AA) continues to Au (0) (via disproportionation reaction) onto the surface of nanorods maintaining their uniform morphology without creating any unwanted impurities of various shapes. In addition, this approach significantly narrows the size distribution due to the continuous growth of partially grown AuNRs during the initial stage of the synthesis. To isolate one-gram quantity of AuNRs and make them functionalized for further chemical reactions, a ligand exchange approach was utilized where surfactant CTAB was replaced with 4-mercaptophenol. The thiol group from 4-mercaptophenol forms a covalent bond to the surface of AuNRs leaving free functional OH groups available for further chemical coupling reactions. For the ligand exchange process, a concentrated solution of 4-mercaptophenol in tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution was introduced into the AuNRs solution. Pure AuNRs, functionalized with 4-mercaptophenol were isolated by dispersion and rinsing with excess of THF, followed by centrifugation.

Electromagnetic field amplification in Al/Ag spherical nanostructures
摘要: The localized electromagnetic field of multilayered nanoshells is studied using quasi-static approach and plasmon hybridization theory. The absorption spectrum of concentric metal–dielectric–metal nanostructures shows three plasmon resonance peaks which are optimized by tuning the geometrical parameters. It has been found that the three-layered nanoshells present different surface plasmon mode when the metal type of inner core and outer shell is exchanged. Silver and aluminum metals have stronger and sharper plasmon modes than that of gold and the outer silver shell has a greater effect on the total plasmonic properties of nanoshell. Three separated plasmon peaks of absorption spectrum of Al–Dielectric–Ag nanoshell cover a wide range from UV to NIR region. In addition, the optimal geometry is discussed to obtain the highest electromagnetic field enhancement in Al–dielectric–Ag nanoshell with special properties.
