Digital Modeling and Display of Ancient Architecture Based on Multi-Station Laser Scanning
摘要: In order to better display and protect ancient Chinese architecture, a three-dimensional model reconstruction method based on multi-station laser scanning is proposed. This method mainly includes several steps, such as point cloud data collection, preconditioning, multi-site cloud data fusion, point cloud data compression, 3D model reconstruction and texture mapping, environment rendering, video processing, and 3D roaming. According to the requirement of video rendering and virtual roaming, we focus on cloud processing, 3D modeling and 3D model display in this paper. Experimental results show that an famous building named Enshi Dong Drum Tower is well digitally reconstructed, so as to result in ethnic characteristics and cultural heritage protection in practical application.

摘要: Future and current high-performance computing applications will have to change and adapt as node architectures evolve. The application of advanced architecture simulators will play a crucial role for the design and optimization of future data intensive applications. In this paper, we present our simulation-based framework for analyzing the scalability and performance of a number of critical optimizations of a massively parallel genomic search application, mpiBLAST, using an advanced macroscale simulator (SST/macro). We report the use of our framework for the evaluation of three potential improvements of mpiBLAST: 1) enabling high-performance parallel output; 2) an approach for caching database fragments in memory; and 3) a methodology for pre-distributing database segments. In our experimental setup, we performed query sequence matching on the genome of the yellow fever mosquito, Aedes aegypti.

Near-Infrared Electron Acceptors with Unfused Architecture for Efficient Organic Solar Cells
摘要: Nonfullerene acceptor (NFA) with near-infrared (NIR) region absorption is crucial for obtaining high current densities in organic solar cells (OSCs). Herein, two narrow bandgap NFAs with unfused backbones possessing broad (600-900 nm) and strong absorption are developed by the conjugation of a benzothiadiazole (BT) core to halogenated end-groups through cyclopentadithiophene (CPDT) bridge. Compared with the fluorinated counterpart BCDT-4F, the chlorinated NFA BCDT-4Cl appears stronger J-aggregation and closer molecular packing, leading to the optimized blend morphology when paired with polymer donor, PBDB-T. Thus, an obvious improvement of external quantum efficiency response was obtained for BCDT-4Cl based OSCs, presenting a higher efficiency of 12.10% than that (9.65%) based on BCDT-4F. This work provides a design strategy for NIR acceptors in the combination of electron deficient core and halogenated terminal in unfused backbone, which results in not only fine-tuning of optoelectronic properties, but also the simplified synthetic complexities of molecule.

摘要: The Offshore Simulator Centre AS (OSC) is the world's most advanced provider of simulators for demanding offshore operations. However, even though the OSC provides very powerful simulation tools, it is mainly designed for training purposes and it does not inherently offer any flexible methods concerning the control methodology. In fact, each crane model is controlled with a dedicated control algorithm that cannot be modified, accessed, or replaced at runtime. As a result, it is not possible to dynamically switch between different control methods, nor is it possible to easily investigate alternative control approaches. To overcome these problems, a flexible and general control system architecture that allows for modeling flexible control algorithms of maritime cranes and more generally, robotic arms, was previously presented by our research group. However, in the previous work, a generic game engine was used to visualize the different models. In this work, the flexible and general control system architecture is integrated with a crane simulator developed by the OSC taking full advantage of the provided domain-consistent simulation tools. The Google Protocol Buffers protocol is adopted to realize the communication protocol. This integration establishes the base for the research of alternative control algorithms, which can be efficiently tested in a realistic maritime simulation environment. As a validating case study, an alternative control method based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is also presented. Related simulations are carried out to validate the efficiency of the proposed integration.

摘要: A very-large-scale integration capable of extracting motion features from moving images in real time has been developed employing row-parallel and pixel-parallel architectures based on the digital pixel sensor technology. Directional edge filtering of input images is carried out in row-parallel processing to minimize the chip real estate. To achieve a real-time response of the system, a fully pixel-parallel architecture has been explored in adaptive binarization of filtered images for essential feature extraction as well as in their temporal integration and derivative operations. As a result, self-speed-adaptive motion feature extraction has been established. The chip was designed and fabricated in a 65-nm CMOS technology and used to build an object detection system. Motion-sensitive target image localization was demonstrated as an illustrative example.

摘要: Optical communication network plays a predominant role in the life of the user(s) system by providing high demand i.e. digital signal levels, fair queuing and channel reuse for high capacity links. In optical communications, Optical Component and Parameter (OCP) are becoming more accurate in order to provide the significance of the optical devices. Optical networks are enhanced in order to afford the optical technologies connectivities to provide high end communication in terms of sustainability and survivability. In survivability concept, two layers plays a significant/vital role between source to destination i.e. end to end connectivities is much reliable in terms of node connectivities, flow connectivities hence local to global fair queuing is achieved with the lower bound to upper bound and vice versa. Further the path propagation determines the range of path propagation determines the range of packets and its estimation is measured by using the concept of node mobility and scalability. It achieves the global range of optical packet transmission reception and design issues in network architecture analysis.

Quantifying 3D structure and occlusion in dense tropical and temperate forests using close-range LiDAR
摘要: Terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) has emerged as a reference for three-dimensional measurements of forest structure as well as forest reconstruction and modeling. Ground-based measurements can be complemented by new light-weight sensors on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or laser scans from canopy cranes or towers. However, it is still largely unknown how much of the forest canopy volume can be sampled and how occlusion is spatially distributed. We present an approach for highly detailed 3D structure measurements based on TLS on the ground and above canopy measurements from a canopy crane or UAV platform, and assess their spatial sampling in terms of occlusion. Comparing the application in a dense tropical and temperate forest, we demonstrate the ability to sample the complete canopy volume with < 2% occlusion at very high spatial resolution when combining ground and above canopy measurements. This is necessary for a full canopy reconstruction. Ground-based TLS can provide sufficient coverage when no sampling of leaves and branches at top of canopy is required, whereas UAV or tower-based measurements show considerable occlusion in the mid- and understory. We therefore recommend to perform above canopy measurements under leaf off conditions, in sparse forests, or as an addition to ground measurements if a full representation of the whole canopy is required at very high spatial resolution. The latter can pave the way for studies on light availability, micrometeorology, sensor simulations and algorithm testing and development.

摘要: Networking resilience is the ability to provide and maintain an acceptable level of service, albeit potentially degraded from nominal, in the face of faults and challenges to normal, including adversarial attacks. This paper explores the concept of resilient optical networks and scopes the important issues to be addressed in a sensible architecture. The solution includes monitoring and probing to determine the states of potentially unreliable network substrates, assessment of resilient network operating regimes, isolation of compromised assets, deployment of mitigation measures that may require communication over unreliable substrates and suggestions for resilient architecture design and improvement. The architecture construct evolves around a robust control plane that uses cognitive techniques to assess network states and automatically reacts to the on-set of impairments and attacks involving all the network layers from the Physical Layer to the Application Layer.
