摘要: Achieving truthful reproduction of color is a well-known problem for printing applications. In this paper, we evaluate different methods for camera color calibration, within the scope of a moving image acquisition system. The acquisition device consists of a RGB camera and two fixed tungsten lamps. Our goal is to determine the most robust end-to-end framework given the acquisition conditions. We tested some color mapping methods commonly mentioned in the literature and made modifications to our specific needs. Our modified 3D lookup table (LUT) based method performs the best in the given conditions with future possibilities of hybrid LUTs combining the best performing aspects of different types of LUTs.

Spectral Optimization to Minimize Light Absorbed by Artwork
摘要: Light is needed to appreciate artwork, but visible radiation causes damage by photochemical action. Photons trigger photochemical action only when they are absorbed by the object. Damage to sensitive materials can be reduced by optimizing the spectrum of a light source to the reflectance factor of a museum artifact. Absorption minimization approaches can be utilized to quantify and optimize typically conflicting parameters, such as damage due to light absorption, color quality of artwork, and energy consumption. In this project, seven narrowband light emitting diodes (LEDs) are optimized using a multi-objective genetic algorithm to reduce light absorption and energy consumption, while maintaining the color appearance of five paints (blue, green, yellow, orange, red). Results indicate that optimized test spectra can reduce light absorption between 18% and 48%, without causing perceptible color or hue shifts in the paintings. Parallel to absorption, energy consumption is almost halved for all of the paints (between 42% and 48%). Optimizing the light source spectrum can aid in conservation of art collections in museums by reducing damage caused by optical radiation while preserving color fidelity.

Image Color Conversion by Illumination
摘要: We developed a software program to imitate the color of an object within the range of sRGB on a PC display. The obtained colors were converted from the picture information taken under a white light source, such as D65. Other, arbitrary light sources such as natural sunlight or standard illuminants, could be used in addition to the test illumination. Judging from the sample of the converted pictures, the software functions quite well.

Complex Inverse Design of Meta-optics by Segmented Hierarchical Evolutionary Algorithm
摘要: With the recent burgeoning advances in nano-optics, ultracompact, miniaturized photonic devices with high-quality and spectacular functionalities are highly desired. Such devices’ design paradigms often call for the solution of a complex inverse nonanalytical/semianalytical problem. However, currently reported strategies dealing with amplitude-controlled meta-optics devices achieved limited functionalities mainly due to restricted search space and demanding computational schemes. Here, we established a segmented hierarchical evolutionary algorithm, aiming to solve large-pixelated, complex inverse meta-optics design and fully demonstrate the targeted performance. This paradigm allows significantly extended search space at a rapid converging speed. As typical complex proof-of-concept examples, large-pixelated meta-holograms are chosen to demonstrate the validity of our design paradigm. An improved fitness function is proposed to reinforce the performance balance among image pixels, so that the image quality is improved and computing speed is further accelerated. Broadband and full-color meta-holograms with high image fidelities using binary amplitude control are demonstrated experimentally. Our work may find important applications in the advanced design of future nanoscale high-quality optical devices.

Narrow-Band Green-Emitting Sr <sub/>2</sub> MgAl <sub/>22</sub> O <sub/>36</sub> :Mn <sup>2+</sup> Phosphors with Superior Thermal Stability and Wide Color Gamut for Backlighting Display Applications
摘要: The narrow-band emitting phosphors have been extensively investigated in recent years, with the expectation that a wide color gamut of phosphor-converted backlighting device could be fabricated. Due to the weak electric–phonon interaction and low structural relaxation caused by the high rigid crystal structure and symmetric coordination environment, Sr2MgAl22O36:Mn2+ (SMAO:Mn2+) shows a narrow full-width at half-maximum of 26 nm, a high color purity of 81.5%, and a low thermal quenching (82% at 473 K of the initial intensity at 298 K). Using K2SiF6:Mn4+ as the red phosphor, SMAO:Mn2+ as the green one, and GaN-based chip as the blue component, the white light-emitting diode exhibits a National Television Standard Committee value of 127%. All the results demonstrate that the SMAO:Mn2+ phosphor has a promising application in the field of advanced wide-color-gamut backlight display, and the establishment of the relationships between the narrow-band emission and crystal structure can also be applied to design other novel narrow-band phosphors for backlighting technologies.

摘要: In this paper, we propose a method to detect the direction of a specific color person and a signboard using an omnidirectional camera and a 3D-LiDAR. For the person searching, we used a combination of an omnidirectional camera and a 3D-LiDAR. The omnidirectional camera was used to detect the direction of the specific color person and the signboard. The 3D-LiDAR was used to detect the distance to the person and the signboard. We conducted experiments in indoor and outdoor environments. The experimental results show that the proposed method can detect the direction of the specific color person and the signboard.

Optical Properties of Nanohole Arrays with Various Depths
摘要: Studies to imitate structural colors have been conducted with various methods, most of which are disadvantageous for mechanical stability and economic feasibility because of complexity or lack of reproducibility. Numerous alternatives to overcome these shortcomings have been proposed. One such method is the anodic oxidation of aluminum, which requires relatively simple equipment and techniques. The present study used the aluminum anodic oxidation process to fabricate nanohole arrays of various sizes. Furthermore, using the finding that the structure color is the most strongly influenced by the nanohole depth based on the Bragg's Law, this study fabricated nanoholes of various depths to identify the structural colors arising from varied depths. This study further identified the colors from the same color series occurring periodically at each interval of 250 nm using the CIE 1931 color coordinate system. Moreover, nanohole arrays with two different depths were fabricated on a single substrate to confirm the coexistence of different colors and their capacity for deformation into various shapes.

Bioinspired Color Changing Molecular Sensor toward Early Fire Detection Based on Transformation of Phthalonitrile to Phthalocyanine
摘要: The fire detection plays a critical role in the maintenance of public security. Previous approaches of early fire warning, based on smoke or temperature response must be set in the proximity of a fire. They cannot provide the additional information of fire location or size and are susceptible to complicated situations. It is still a big challenge to make rapid and accurate early fire warning in precombustion because of the lack of reliable alarm signals. Herein, a precursor molecular sensor (PMS) is designed and synthesized that can present the chemical structure transformation to form phthalocyanines (Pcs) and release a color change signal at about 180 °C, learning from the plant chlorophyll metabolism. Further, the PMS is assembled to an early fire warning component (EWC) and an intelligent image recognition algorithm is introduced for unburned fire detection. The EWC generates a colorful alarm within 20 s at 275 °C. Therefore, the facile PMS provides a reliable real-time monitoring strategy to the early fire warning detection in precombustion.
