Dressing the boundary: On soliton solutions of the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation on the half-line
摘要: Based on the theory of integrable boundary conditions (BCs) developed by Sklyanin, we provide a direct method for computing soliton solutions of the focusing nonlinear Schr?dinger equation on the half-line. The integrable BCs at the origin are represented by constraints of the Lax pair, and our method lies on dressing the Lax pair by preserving those constraints in the Darboux-dressing process. The method is applied to two classes of solutions: solitons vanishing at infinity and self-modulated solitons on a constant background. Half-line solitons in both cases are explicitly computed. In particular, the boundary-bound solitons, which are static solitons bounded at the origin, are also constructed. We give a natural inverse scattering transform interpretation of the method as evolution of the scattering data determined by the integrable BCs in space.

Chitosan-based hydrogels prepared by UV polymerization for wound dressing
摘要: Chitosan-based hydrogels were prepared by grafting with poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) and poly(hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (pHEMA) through ultraviolet polymerization to further improve its hydrophilic nature and enhance its mechanical properties. The epidermal growth factor (EGF) was incorporated inside the hydrogels to stimulate the wound healing. The physical characterization of chitosan-PAA-pHEMA hydrogel indicates that it is highly hydrophilic with adequate properties for wound dressing purpose. The biological characterization shows that chitosan-based hydrogel retains its thrombogenic and antibacterial properties. The in vivo wound healing experiment demonstrates that the hydrogel-incorporated EGF has better wound healing rate than other dressings.

Aloe-Emodin/Carbon Nanoparticles Hybrid Gels with Light-Induced and Long-Term Antibacterial Activity
摘要: Development of effective antimicrobial wound dressings has drawn wide attention in the wound care market. Here, we synthesized a natural antibiotic (aloe-emodin, AE) and carbon nanoparticles co-embedded polymer hybrid hydrogel as a novel wound dressing in the fight against skin infections potently. We systematically evaluated the properties of the obtained hydrogels, including physic-chemical characteristics, photothermal conversion efficiency, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, AE-released profile, antibacterial activity and wound-healing capability. The hybrid gels can initially deduct the number of bacteria rapidly in a short time through the near-infrared-light (NIR)-triggered photothermal/ROS route, and continuously kill the remaining live cells by released-AE from gels after turning off NIR source with the long-term antibacterial effect. These two antibacterial manners that complement each other lead to the excellent antibacterial performances towards various bacterial strains including multidrug-resistant bacteria. Moreover, in vivo Staphylcoccus aureus-infected animal experiments indicate that the hybrid gels upon NIR irradiation have a striking ability towards wound infection. These studies demonstrate that the AE and carbon nanoparticles co-embedded hybrid polymer hydrogels with NIR exposure may have applications in the wound combined care for bacterial infections.

Multi-contact switch using double-dressing regularity of probe, fluorescence, and six-wave mixing in a Rydberg atom
摘要: In this paper, we study the realization of a multi-contact switch using the double-dressing regularity of probe, fluorescence, and six-wave mixing signals in a five-level 85Rb atomic system. For the first time, we compare the dressing regularity of Rydberg states by observing electromagnetically induced transparency and signals. With the scanning probe and dressing fields, both large and small line shifts in signals are observed. The small line shifts are induced by double-dressed line shifts. Also, the big line shifts result from the Rydberg dressing. In addition, with an increase in the principal quantum number n of the Rydberg state, all the signals become weaker, while the line shifts of the signals become enhanced. Using the regularity in line shifts of the signals and an acoustic optical modulator to modulate the frequency detuning, we can realize a multi-contact switch action and fast conversion between different contacts.

Lax pair, Darboux-dressing transformation and localized waves of the coupled mixed derivative nonlinear Schr??dinger equation in a birefringent optical fiber
摘要: Under investigation in this paper is a coupled mixed derivative nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation, which can describe the pulse propagation in the femtosecond or picosecond regime of a birefringent optical fiber. Based on a Lax pair, we provide a Darboux transformation, and obtain the breather wave solutions. Then, a novel vector rogue wave solution is constructed by using Darboux-dressing transformation and asymptotic expansion. Those solutions exhibit some elastic and collision behaviors between a localized wave and a bright-dark soliton. Our works can be of importance in the theoretical experiments of the rogue wave generation mechanism and propagation trajectory.

Flexible organic lighta??emittinga??diodea??based photonic skin for attachable phototherapeutics
摘要: Phototherapeutics is both safely noninvasive and can be employed to treat a light variety of sites and diseases. Current rigid and bulky conventional light sources, such as LED or laser-based phototherapy devices, are difficult to transport and use for regular irradiation treatments. To solve this problem, flexible organic light-emitting diode (OLED) light sources are the best candidates, and if applied very thinly as a skin-like platform, the ultimate attachable phototherapeutics can be realized. We demonstrated a very thin flexible OLED-based photonic skin with a total thickness of 6 μm for application in attachable phototherapeutics. It was optimized by controlling the peak wavelengths (600–700 nm) and irradiation interval of the flexible OLED thus improving the regeneration effect of the artificial skin by up to 70%. In addition, when the flexible OLED-based photonic skin was attached to a dressing film before being applied to the skin, it delivered the same electro-optical properties, while protecting against external contamination. The OLED skin on the dressing film had an operating lifetime of more than 100 h. These results confirmed the applicability of flexible OLED-based photonic skin to various light treatment areas, such as surgical wounds that require periodic irradiation.

Tunable hybrid spectral filter and time-division multiplexing of second-order fluorescence controlled by phonon and dressing on Pr <sup>3+</sup> :YSO
摘要: Atom-like nonlinear responses of rare earth doped crystal Pr3+:Y2SiO5 (Pr3+: YSO) exhibit unique features compared with other nonlinear crystals. The responses become more interesting, while Pr3+: YSO is modulated simultaneously by temperature and multi-parameters related to dressed state. The generations of Stokes and fluorescence (FL) signals are demonstrated in both time and spectral domains. Here, we are presenting a new controlling strategy by interaction between dressing and phonon on Pr3+: YSO to manipulate the intensity of Stokes and FL signals. Interaction between dressing and phonon leads to more stable nonlinear response of the YSO crystal, which is very important for integrated quantum photonic device stability and multi-functionality. Also, we have realized tunable hybrid spectral filter (narrow-band pass notch filter (NBPNF), narrow-band stop notch filter (NBSNF)) and time-division multiplexing router on Pr3+: YSO by controlling the interaction between dressing and phonons. Tunable hybrid spectral filter and pure NBPNF are realized from dressing dip of Autler-Townes (AT) splitting and spectral intensity Stokes emission peak. Also, time-division multiplexing router is realized by time-domain adiabatic expansion. Furthermore, optical switch between tunable hybrid spectral filter to pure NBPNF is realized from dressing dip (AT splitting) to spectral intensity Stokes emission peak. Our experimental results suggests advanced technique for realizing tunable hybrid spectral filter with a contrast of about 98%, and optical time-division multiplexing router with channel equalization is about 85%.

Breather waves, high-order rogue waves and their dynamics in the coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger equations with alternate signs of nonlinearities
摘要: We consider the analytic vector breather and high-order rogue wave solutions for the coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger (NLS) equations with alternate signs of nonlinearities via Darboux dressing transformation. By adjusting spectral parameters, we indicate that the breather wave solutions contain temporally periodic nonlinear waves and spatially periodic nonlinear waves, respectively. The vector rogue wave solutions include the bright one-peak-two-valleys rogue wave and the bright rogue wave without valleys. Additionally, we successfully show different types of the distributions for the second-order vector rogue waves. The existence condition for the rogue waves is discussed. For the coupled NLS equations with alternate signs of nonlinearities, the rogue wave solutions exist if the baseband modulation instability (MI) is present.

A Model for Predicting the Geometry of Crater on Grinding Wheel Surface Ablated with a Single Pulsed Laser
摘要: In this paper, a three dimensional transient heat transfer model for predicting the 3D geometry of crater and its cross sectional profile on grinding wheel surface ablated by a single pulsed Nd: YAG laser is covered. The model considers the heterogeneity of wheel structure, the variation of energy in a pulsed laser input to the wheel, heat transfer by conduction, convection, radiation and the thermo-physical and optical properties of bond and grit while predicting the temperature distribution in the irradiated region using COMSOL Multiphysics? 5.2 package. From this temperature distribution, the shape of crater was predicted. Crater depth predicted was validated with the published results confirming the suitability of this model for predicting the shape of crater in single pulsed laser ablation of wheel surface. Post modeling analysis gives insights of the process mechanism of laser dressing and the parameters affecting the crater geometry. Future scope and implementation of this model is discussed in detail.

Quantum radiation from a shaken two-level atom in vacuum
摘要: We present a nonrelativistic theory of quantum radiation generated by shaking a two-level atom in vacuum. Such radiation has the same origin of photon emission in dynamical Casimir effect. By performing a time-dependent “dressing” transformation to the Hamiltonian, we derive an interaction term that governs the radiation. In particular, we show that photon pairs can be generated, not only by shaking the position of the atom, but also by changing the internal states of the atom. As applications of our theory, we calculate the emission rate from an oscillating atom and the multiphoton state generated in a single-photon scattering process.
