Electrochromism in Electropolymerized Films of Pyrene-Triphenylamine Derivatives
摘要: Two star-shaped multi-triphenylamine derivatives 1 and 2 were prepared, where 2 has an additional phenyl unit between a pyrene core and surrounding triphenylamine units. The oxidative electropolymerization of 1 and 2 occurred smoothly to give thin films of polymers P1 and P2. The electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry of P1 and P2 were examined, showing two-step absorption spectral changes in the near-infrared region. The electrochromic properties, including contrast ratio, response time, and cyclic stability of P1 and P2 were investigated and compared. Thin film of P2 displays slightly better electrochromic performance than P1, with a contrast ratio of 45% at 1475 nm being achieved.

One-step electrosynthesized molecularly imprinted polymer on laser scribed graphene bisphenol a sensor
摘要: Bisphenol A (BPA) is a toxic chemical used by industries for production of containers for storage of food and beverages leading to possible health risks. In this work, we present a simple, mask-free, low-cost imprinted sensor based on laser scribed graphene (LSG) technology combined to molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for BPA determination. CO2 laser was used in production of LSG electrodes with high resistivity 58 Ω/square on flexible polyimide sheet leading to the high active surface area of the sensor. LSG device was functionalized with imprinted polypyrrole with a known amount of BPA as template molecule to develop the sensor. The bare LSG, LSG-MIP, LSG-NIP sensors were characterized using Raman spectroscopy, SEM, XRD, AFM. The electrochemical measurements were carried out using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. Experimental conditions were optimized, including the concentration of pyrrole monomer, the number of polymerization cycles, the concentration of BPA as template and the incubation time. We evaluated the sensitivity of the LSG-MIP sensor in the concentration range between 0.05 μM and 20 μM with a limit of detection of 8 nM. The proposed sensor exhibits high selectivity towards BPA compared to its structural analogs and good reusability. The developed sensor was successfully applied for the detection of BPA in tap, mineral water and in plastic samples. The developed sensor was integrated into a PMMA case connected to the potentiostat to achieve complete isolation and a practical measurement system.

Electrochemical and optical characterization of a multielectrochromic copolymer based on 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene and functionalized dithienylpyrrole derivative
摘要: A novel conjugated copolymer, namely poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene-co-1-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrole) (P(EDOT-co-1)) was synthesized via electropolymerization method from a mixture of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene and 1-(3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrole comonomers. The corresponding copolymer has an optical band gap of 1.7 eV and 41% optical contrast at 525 nm with a coloration efficiency of 258 cm2/C and 1.4 s switching time. The copolymer has a multi-electrochromic behavior: It has dark purple, purple, gray, green and cyan colors at different oxidation states. Electrochemical stability of P(EDOT-co-1) copolymer was also investigated and it was observed that the copolymer retained 86% of its stability under ambient conditions in the presence of oxygen (without purging the electrolyte solution with any inert gas) according to the current density and 83% according to the deposited charge even after 1000 redox cycles.

Synthesis and Electropolymerization of Furan End?capped Dibenzothiophene/Dibenzofuran and Electrochromic Properties of Their Polymers
摘要: Two furan end?capped dibenzothiophene/dibenzofuran five?membered ring monomers, 2,8?bis?(furan?2?yl)?dibenzothiophene (DBT?Fu) and 2,8?bis?(furan?2?yl)?dibenzofuran (DBF?Fu) were successfully synthesized via Stille couple reaction. Corresponding polymers, P(DBT?Fu) and P(DBF?Fu), were obtained by employed the electropolymerization. The surface morphology, electrochemical and optical properties of monomers and polymers were researched by cyclic voltammetry (CV), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV?via spectra method. Both polymers exhibited obvious color changes from neutral state to oxidation state (from green?yellow to dark grey for P(DBT?Fu) and from beige to celadon for P(DBF?Fu)).

Medium Effect on the Electropolymerization and Electro-optical Properties of PEDOS
摘要: 3,4-Ethylenedioxyselenophene (EDOS), an important derivative of 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT), has better optoelectronic properties including lower band gap, better interchain charge transfer, lower oxidation and reduction potentials. In this work, the electropolymerization behavior of EDOS, and the electrochemistry, surface morphology, optical and electrochromic properties of the resultant PEDOS films are comparatively investigated in different solvent-electrolyte systems (CH2Cl2-Bu4NPF6, CH2Cl2-BmimPF6, and pure BmimPF6). We find that solvent-electrolyte systems exert influence on the electropolymerization behavior of EDOS monomer. EDOS displays lower onset oxidation potentials in CH2Cl2-BmimPF6 and pure BmimPF6 than commonly employed CH2Cl2-Bu4NPF6. PEDOS can be facilely electrodeposited in all these systems. Electrochromic results suggest that PEDOS film resulted from CH2Cl2-Bu4NPF6 medium exhibit relatively good transmittance changes (△T%) of 26.5%, high coloration efficiency of 80 cm2 C-1. However, the addition of BmimPF6 reveal a compact morphology, and enhanced the electrochemical stability and open circuit memory for PEDOS film. From these results, PEDOS can be further explored as electrochromic materials towards indoor electrochromic products and flexible displays.

Pulsed electropolymerization of PEDOT enabling controlled branching
摘要: Controlling the growth of conductive polymers via electrolysis enables defined surface modifications and can be used as a rapid prototyping process. In this study, the controlled dendritic growth of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) in a two-electrode setup was investigated by pulsed voltage-driven electropolymerization of the precursor EDOT and a low concentration of tetrabutylammonium perchlorate dissolved in acetonitrile. Rapid growth of different polymeric shapes was reliably achieved by varying the reduction voltage and duty factor. The obtained structures were optically examined and quantified using fractal dimensions. Their shapes ranged from solid coatings over branched fractals to straight fibers without requiring any template. These rapid and controllable electropolymerization processes were further combined to increase conductor complexity.

Improvement of electrochemical and structural properties of polycarbazole by simultaneous electrodeposition of chitosan
摘要: Polycarbazole/chitosan composite materials were synthesized electrochemically at various loadings of chitosan (Chi). Their electrochemical, structural, thermal, and morphological characterizations were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermal gravimetry, and scanning electron microscopy. Further electrical conductivity was measured using a four-point probe technique. The electrochemical results showed that the electrical conductivity of the polymeric composite (cid:12)lm was increased by increasing the amount of Chi in the electrolyte medium. The as-prepared composite (cid:12)lms exhibited enhanced electrical conductivity and structural properties of polycarbazole due to the presence of Chi in the composite (cid:12)lms.

Porous Multilayered Films Based on poly(3,4- ethylenedioxythiophene) and poly(indole-5-carboxylic acid) and Their Capacitance Performance
摘要: Layer-by-layer (LBL) technique is a prevalent way to construct multilayered films. Herein, using high conducting poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and good stable redox-active poly(indole-5-carboxylic acid) (5-PICA), an alternately multilayered porous films has been prepared by the electrochemical LBL method. The alternately multilayered films were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge-discharge (CD) and electrochemical impedance spectroscope (EIS) techniques. Compared with monolayered PEDOT (147.8 F g-1) and 5-PICA(198.3 F g-1), the PEDOT/5-PICA/PEDOT/5-PICA 4-layered film exhibited a higher specific capacitance which reached 281.7 F g-1 at 20 A g-1 in 1.0 M H2SO4 solution. Furthermore, the specific capacitance of 4-layered film still had good stability, viz., 73% retention after 1000 cycles at the range of potential -0.15 to 1.0 V and even reached 95% if the potential range was from -0.15 to 0.8 V. Therefore, these results indicated that the PEDOT/5-PICA/PEDOT/5-PICA was a potential electrode material for supercapacitors.

Electrodeposition of catalytically active polyporphyrin films of metal complexes of amino-substituted tetraphenylporphyrins
摘要: The process of electrodeposition of polyporphyrin films based on amino-substituted tetraphenylporphyrins and their metal complexes (CuT(p-NH2Ph)P, FeClT(m-NH2Ph)P, MnClT(m-NH2Ph)P) has been studied by the quartz crystal microbalance method. The surfaces of the films have been characterized by the scanning electron microscopy method and the number of electrons taking part in porphyrin electropolymerization has been determined. It has been established that the most intensive film growth is observed for the metal-free porphyrin ligand. The obtained polyporphyrin films have been analyzed for the catalytic ability in oxygen electroreduction reactions.
