Polymer Based PCF with High Nonlinearity and Low Bend Loss: A New Modeling
摘要: The effect of ellipticity ratio on low bend loss, high nonlinearity, wideband high birefringence and low confinement loss in a hexagonal spiral thermoplastic polymer based PCF having air holes with Kerr nonlinearity is investigated. Moreover, the above all property are simulated initially with wide range of wavelength (for different value ellipticity ratio) and secondly with ellipticity ratio at an operating wavelength of 1.55 μm. Through the optimization of arrangement and diameter of elliptical air holes, the designed spiral PCF offers low bend loss, high nonlinearity depends on mode field area (As small as mode field area, increase the nonlinearity), high birefringence and nonzero dispersion for X/Y polarization within the wavelength range of 0.5 to 1.75 μm. These results seem to be most useful in optical communication.

Design and Analysis of a Dispersion-engineered and Highly Nonlinear Rib Waveguide for Generation of Broadband Supercontinuum Spectra
摘要: In this paper, a waveguide consisting of a core of As2Se3 chalcogenide glass and the upper and lower claddings of MgF2 with two zero-dispersion wavelengths (ZDW) has been proposed. By optimization of the dimensions of the core and the claddings, their effects on the dispersion curve have been investigated and a suitable structure with a flat dispersion curve, an effective mode area of 1.6 μm2 in a pump wavelength of 2.8 μm, and hence, a nonlinear coefficient greater than 34 w?1 m?1 has been obtained. A broadband supercontinuum in a wavelength range of 1.5 μm to 15 μm has been generated by applying an input pulse with duration of 100 fs and a maximum power of 2 kw to this waveguide. Due to the large width of the supercontinuum generated (SCG), the short length of the waveguide (maximum 5 mm), and a low input power, this structure is suitable for use in optical integrated circuits and its various applications.

Highly Nonlinear, Dispersion Flattened Equiangular Spiral Photonic Crystal Fiber in Telecommunications Window
摘要: This paper presents an equiangular spiral (ES) cladding photonic crystal fiber (PCF) made of lead silicate glass SF57. The proposed ES-PCF exhibits a flat dispersion at the telecommunications window with high nonlinearity and low confinement loss, showing an ultra-flattened dispersion at wavelengths ranging from 1.51 to 1.81 μm (300 nm band), with confinement losses of less than 0.0031 dB/km within this wavelength range, and two zero-dispersion wavelengths at 1.55 and 1.76 μm. Moreover, this fiber also has a high nonlinear coefficient of 1285 W-1km-1 at 1.55 μm.
