Green Higha??Power Disk Lasers and Industrial Applications
摘要: In the publicly-funded ProLasKu project, the laser manufacturer Trumpf has developed a high-power laser with a wavelength of 515 nm. Substantial progress in the industrial applications of green lasers has been achieved in a cooperation between the Technical University of Munich and the companies Siemens and Continental. In addition, a camera-based system for process monitoring and quality assurance in real-time based on image processing methods has been developed.

Special Issue on Optical Communications and Networking: Prospects in Industrial Applications
摘要: In the past two decades, Internet traffic has increased by over 10,000 times by taking advantage of both efficient information processing technology in the electronic domain and efficient transmission technology in the optical domain, which are the foundation of today’s Internet infrastructure [1,2]. The advancement of electronics processing circuits has followed Moore’s law, and perhaps will continue this exponential growth for years to come. This may make the electrical systems significantly outpace the advancement of optical systems in information and communications technologies. To support the ever-growing Internet traffic, optical communication systems face a great challenge in transporting information processed by electronic systems for sustained exponential growth. The industry has explored multiple degrees of freedom of the photon (time, wavelength, amplitude, phase, polarization, and space) to significantly reduce the cost/bit for data transmission by increasing the capacity/fiber through multiplexing and reducing the size and power through integration.

摘要: Laser is one of the most important technologies invented in the 20th century. Nowadays, the applications of laser have stretched over a vast spectrum including information technology, optoelectronics, quantum computing, materials characterization, materials processing, advanced three-dimensional (3D) printing, biology, biomedical, etc. In the nanotechnology domain, laser can be used for synthesis, processing, and characterization. In this chapter, we will focus on applying laser for synthesis and processing of nanomaterials as well as nanofabrication.

Chemical Colour Imaging and its Advantages by Deploying Hyperspectral Cameras for Industrial Applications
摘要: Chemical colour imaging (CCI) represents a new processing technology, which combines the essential advantages of basic technologies of chemical imaging and colour imaging (colour image processing) and makes chemical material properties accessible to a completely new range of users through new approaches to data processing. A dramatic simplification in handling, as well as the opportunity for real-time processing of highly complex camera data, are the keys to an extensive industrial use of this chemical camera technology. The abstraction of highly complex spectral information through chemical features makes handling of the cameras on a deep level accessible to the user and interpretable, even without a profound knowledge of the basic technologies. New aspects of dealing with chemical information arise and these accelerate continuous further development of chemical colour imaging technology.
