    摘要: 1.5 kV DC link voltage has been a trend for the solar industry. Moving from 1 kV to 1.5 kV DC voltage can increase string length, enhance inverter conversion ability, increase array block sizes, and improve performance. Multilevel converters are the natural choices while the control becomes more complicated. If a simple two-level converter is adopted, the 1.7 kV device may not be applicable considering the voltage derating for certain failure rate. Therefore, devices with higher blocking voltage should be considered. This paper reports for the first time the performance characterization of 2.5 kV Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFET. The potential application of this device for 1.5 kV solar inverter is also evaluated.

    摘要: In every field of human development, electricity usage is increasing promptly. Utilization of solar energy is a way to meet the energy demand. The solar inverter is one such device, which makes the solar energy to usable form. In this paper, three major inverters are presented. The voltage source and current source inverters, stand-alone and grid-connected inverters and, square, modified square and sine wave inverters come under the classification. An open loop strategy is considered for the MATLAB Simulation of the three main types of PWM inverters available in the market. A brief description of PV array, charge controller and battery is also presented in this paper.

    摘要: In this study a control strategy of two-level Three-phase grid connected PV system by using SVPWM method is proposed for distribution and generation system. Traditional grid rectifier brings a lots of harmonics pollution, to decrease these harmonics, in this control system technique a double closed loop control based on. (ISMC). Integral. Sliding. Mode. Control.internal current loop and voltage control external loop is presented. The main objective of this controller is, low error (SS) steady state, enhanced voltage regulation, unity power factor, little (THD) total harmonic pollution distortion and into consideration. By using small disturbance Matlab/Simulink software simulation results shows the proposed control system is effective, good dynamics and fast response which open new insights in distribution systems taken

  • $${\mathscr{P}}{\mathscr{T}}$$PT-symmetric interference transistor

    摘要: We present a model of the molecular transistor, operation of which is based on the interplay between two physical mechanisms, peculiar to open quantum systems that act in concert: PT-symmetry breaking corresponding to coalescence of resonances at the exceptional point of the molecule, connected to the leads, and Fano-Feshbach antiresonance. This switching mechanism can be realised in particular in a special class of molecules with degenerate energy levels, e.g. diradicals, which possess mirror symmetry. At zero gate voltage infinitesimally small interaction of the molecule with the leads breaks the PT-symmetry of the system that, however, can be restored by application of the gate voltage preserving the mirror symmetry. PT-symmetry broken state at zero gate voltage with minimal transmission corresponds to the “off” state while the PT-symmetric state at non-zero gate voltage with maximum transmission – to the “on” state. At zero gate voltage energy of the antiresonance coincides with exceptional point. We construct a model of an all-electrical molecular switch based on such transistors acting as a conventional CMOS inverter and show that essentially lower power consumption and switching energy can be achieved, compared to the CMOS analogues.

  • Model Predictive Voltage Control Based on Finite Control Set with Computation Time Delay Compensation for PV Systems

    摘要: For the conservativeness and computational delay of the traditional finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC), a multi-step model predictive voltage control method based on finite control set (FCS-MMPVC) with delay compensation method is proposed in this paper, and the proposed method is validated on a three-level three-phase voltage source PV inverter. In each control cycle, the twenty-seven voltage vectors for inverters are evaluated on line based on predictive model to obtain the optimal and suboptimal switching state. The selected switching state is optimal in two control cycle with the proposed method. Considering that the time spent in the actual sampling and calculation process cannot be ignored, the delay compensation is added in FCS-MMPVC algorithm. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method has good stability and reliability. Compared with the traditional FCS-MPC algorithm, the proposed method can reduce the difference significantly between the output voltage and the reference under the unbalanced and non-linear load, and the output voltage quality of the inverter is improved.

    摘要: A family of integrated set-up micro-inverter was proposed for the application of photovoltaic power generation system. The proposed inverters have the advantages of less power devices, simpler topology and higher integration and they can achieve voltage pump and invert at the same time. These topologies are suitable for the photovoltaic AC module which has low input voltage, small size and high integration. According to the existing integrated inverters, constructing the switch-diode (SD) unit through the traditional boost or buck-boost DC/DC converters, then proposing the switch-switch (SS) unit with bi-directional flow of the energy. At last, a family of integrated sep-up micro-inverter was derived by combining the SS unit. One of the proposed topologies was given as an example and verified by simulation prototype, which indicates that the topology can achieve the functions of voltage pump and inverting.

    摘要: A single-phase switched-boost inverter for photovoltaic (PV) application is introduced in this paper. Shoot-through immunity, buck/boost voltages, continuous input current and single-stage conversion are the benefits of the proposed inverter. PV panel output voltage depends upon the weather conditions. Sometimes the output voltage of the PV panel is less. Therefore, we need boost inverter to get the desired voltage to the load. In addition, the proposed inverter has acceptance for wide range of supply voltage variations. In comparison with quasi Z-source inverter (qZSI), the proposed inverter requires one less inductor. The operating principles, control strategy, comparison with qZSI and simulation results are discussed. The simulation results match the theoretical analysis.

Grid-connected Solar Photovoltaic System

    摘要: In this paper, a step-up transformerless inverter topology is investigated for the grid-connected solar PV system. This proposed topology combines the features of the DC-DC step-up converter and two-level inverter. The important features of this topology are: First, the proposed topology keeps the negative terminal of the PV source directly connected with the neutral of the grid. Therefore, there is no variation in the CMV, which appears across the PV parasitic capacitance, resulting in negligible leakage current and higher efficiency. Negligible leakage current makes this topology highly suitable for transformerless grid-connected solar PV application; second, due to the step-up feature of the proposed topology, the inverter output voltage can be greater than the input DC voltage of solar PV which makes the proposed topology suitable for connecting lower voltage solar PV modules. The topology works with a simple and dedicated PWM scheme, which consists of certain logic operations as explained in the text. The modes of operation, design of the converter, PWM strategy, and analysis are presented in detail. The MATLAB/Simulink environment is used to simulate the proposed grid-connected system for 300W power rating and all the results are included in the paper, which shows that the proposed system gives higher efficiency with lower THD in grid-current.

  • Voltage Quality Improvement Using Solar Photovoltaic System

    摘要: Solar power and wind are the most promising distributed energy sources. The photovoltaic system has attracted significant attention in recent years. Although their benefits are numerous, they are known to create power quality issues, because of the power electronic converters they use. This paper investigates if there is a possibility to improve power quality only by connecting a solar photovoltaic system to the grid, and then gives results of on-site power quality measurements in the grid before and after the connection of the solar photovoltaic system.

    摘要: This paper presents a comparative analysis of different low voltage ride though strategies proposed for operation of a grid connected two stage photovoltaic system under low voltages. The existing grid codes mandate that, under the presence of low voltages, a distributed energy resource (DER) must stay connected to the grid for a minimum amount of time. This results in abnormally high currents though the inverter of a PV system, which can potentially damage the semiconductor switches. To avoid this, low voltage ride through techniques are proposed in the literature to ensure that the DER stays connected to the grid. Traditionally, the performance of LVRT techniques is evaluated by assuming an ideal voltage dip at the point of common coupling. In this work, comparative evaluation of different LVRT techniques is carried out on the CERTS testbed with an objective to highlight the impact of network transients on their performance.
