  • COMPACT CPW-FED MULTIBAND ANTENNA FOR TD-LTE/WLAN/WIMAX APPLICATIONS

    摘要: A compact coplanar waveguide fed multiband antenna is proposed and investigated. The proposed antenna consists of a rectangular radiating patch and dual meander strips with a defected ground plane. The size of the fabricated prototype is 28.3 × 24 × 1.59 mm3. The proposed antenna radiates at three di?erent resonant modes, which cover 2.29–2.63 GHz, 3.26–3.96 GHz, and 4.97–6.10 GHz. The proposed antenna can be used for TD-LTE 2300/2500 (2.305–2.4 GHz), WLAN (2.4–2.4835 GHz and 5.15–5.875 GHz) and WiMAX (2.3–2.4 GHz and 3.3–3.7 GHz) applications. The proposed antenna exhibits an omnidirectional radiation pattern in the H-plane and a dipole-like radiation pattern in the E-plane. The measured peak gains are 2.64/4.48/6.08 dBi at 2.4/3.5/5.5 GHz operating frequency bands, respectively.

  • Fractal Analysis - Applications in Physics, Engineering and Technology || Fractals in Antennas and Metamaterials Applications

    摘要: Recently, telecommunications systems have been requiring more advanced features in the design and operation. Among others a smaller size of devices, which can be integrated for multiple mobile communications systems, applied in one user's device board, such as PDA or smartphone. Moreover, the cost of mass production should be minimized as much as possible. To meet part of that request, the antennas of these devices should have small size, lower weight, operating in multiple frequency bands and/or be broadband. There are many research methods to achieve this goal, one of which is using the fractal geometries for the shape of antenna elements. In recent years, there are many fractal shapes that have been proposed for such applications, and the designed antennas have significantly improved antenna features such as smaller size, operating in multi-frequency bands, with improved power gain and efficiency. In recent years, the new approach for modern antenna the metamaterials, MTM, is adopted, and sometimes that based on the fractal geometry is adopted.

  • COMPLIMENTARY SPLIT RING RESONATOR INSPIRED MEANDERED CPW-FED MONOPOLE ANTENNA FOR MULTIBAND OPERATION

    摘要: A novel design of Meandered Coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed CSRR loaded multiband antenna is presented in this paper. A compact triple-band antenna is designed by etching CSRR slots on the radiating element. The proposed antenna shows good performance at all resonant frequencies. The simulation results are discussed and compared with the measured ones. The e?ects of CSRR loading on the radiating element are explained. Parametric studies are carried out and explained in detail. The proposed antenna is fabricated and measured, and the results are compared with the simulated ones. CSRR permittivity characteristics are explained to validate the results. The proposed antenna can be used for C-band, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and International Telecommunications Union (ITU) applications.

    摘要: In this paper, a dual band stack series array antenna is designed for the future 28 GHz Ka-band application. Dual-layer substrate Technology is used to achieve multiple resonant frequencies with higher bandwidths. Antenna is designed based on stack array of double layer with patches and resonators in different layers. Designed dual-band antennas can resonate at single band of (28 GHz) and dual band (28 and 30 GHz). All results of the simulation are fabricated and tested. The test result shows that the antennas have high gain, wide bandwidth and higher efficiencies. Both the proposed antenna configurations have shown a good candidate for 5G millimetre wave (mmWave) application.

    摘要: Two Multiband circularly polarized antenna arrays are proposed in this paper. Both of the antenna arrays consist of four antenna elements. Each antenna element has three patches, generating circular polarization electromagnetic wave at three frequency bands. The antenna arrays can operate at GPS L1, L2, and L5 bands. The slits are used in the second antenna array to achieve lower mutual coupling between the antenna elements compared with the first antenna array. Simulations and measurements are carried out to study the antenna element and antenna arrays’ performances in terms of impedance matching, axial ratio, gain and radiation patterns. Both of simulation and measurement results are shown to illustrate the good performance of the proposed antenna arrays. It is very suitable for multi-functional GNSS applications.

    摘要: A multi-band optically transparent antenna based on indium zinc tin oxide (IZTO) was investigated. A half circular-shaped structure (HC-S) was used to produce multi-band frequencies. The IZTO’s antenna was deposited on a glass substrate that has relative permittivity εr2, substrate thickness H2, and loss tangent tan δ2 of 2.3, 0.8 mm, and 0.028, respectively. The IZTO antenna has patch thickness (h2) of 100 μm and it was simulated using Momentum simulation in Advanced Design System (ADS). The results show that the antenna is capable of working in multi-band at 12.0 GHz, 15.5 GHz, 17.9 GHz, with a bandwidth of 0.5 GHz, 1.4 GHz, 1.5 GHz, and gain of 2.33 dBi, -3.15 dBi, -0.56 dBi, respectively. This antenna has slightly lower performance compared to the antenna with the copper patch. However, it has the advantage of > 85% transparency well as able to work in multi-band operating frequencies.
