    摘要: Analog filters for biomedical signal processing applications deals with very slow or low frequency electrical activities of the physiological signals. This paper proposes first order, second order, fifth order elliptic low pass, second order notch and high pass OTA-C filters using hybrid CMOS-CNFET technology. Carbon Nanotube Field Effect Transistors (CNFETs) and CMOS devises can be heterogeneously integrated on a single 3-D chip to realize important signal processing building blocks such as OTA-C filters. Proposed circuits use Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA) as a building block for OTA-C filters. Realized filter circuits satisfy ultra-low power consumption requirement of wearable and implantable biomedical devices. The transistors used in the circuit operate in weak inversion to achieve ultra-low power consumption.

    摘要: In a digital holographic display, it is not desirable to observe the conjugate image and zeroth-order diffracted light in the reconstructed image. To remove noise, various methods have been proposed to limit the noise bandwidth in the Fraunhofer region using optics. In general, a 4-F relay optic-based noise-filtering system is used in these noise-filtering methods. However, in the case of a holographic display configuration, where a conventional 4-F relay optics-based noise-filtering optical system is applied, the optical performance at a critical level is required because the diffraction angle and display area become larger. Here, we propose parallel noise filtering as a new method to remove the optical noise in a holographic display. The proposed parallel noise-filtering method can be achieved by applying a new noise-filtering optical system based on 2-F relay optics. The proposed technique significantly reduces the burden on the holographic display optics configuration and dramatically reduces the optical path to enable a holographic display with a commercially available form factor.

  • A new design on image processing scheme for smart car

    摘要: As a product of comprehensive discipline, smart car involve artificial intelligence, computer vision, mechanical design, control science and vehicle engineering, etc. In this study, we take the NXP smart car competition as the background and put forward a new image processing scheme for smart car. The purpose of the image processing is to identify the different types of track from continuously transformed video images, to filter out noise and interference in the images, to identify the obstacles and extract the available left and right edges of the track. The proposed new scheme can effectively extract and classify the image features of different road types and give corresponding image processing algorithms. Experiments show that this scheme can efficiently deal with the probe images and provide accurate image information for smart car. Thus, the proposed scheme has a high practical value in applications, such as smart car contests and self-driving car industry.

  • Aerial Laser Scanning Data as a Source of Terrain Modeling in a Fluvial Environment: Biasing Factors of Terrain Height Accuracy

    摘要: Airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) scanning is a commonly used technology for representing the topographic terrain. As LiDAR point clouds include all surface features present in the terrain, one of the key elements for generating a digital terrain model (DTM) is the separation of the ground points. In this study, we intended to reveal the efficiency of different denoising approaches and an easy-to-use ground point classification technique in a floodplain with fluvial forms. We analyzed a point cloud from the perspective of the efficiency of noise reduction, parametrizing a ground point classifier (cloth simulation filter, CSF), interpolation methods and resolutions. Noise filtering resulted a wide range of point numbers in the models, and the number of points had moderate correlation with the mean accuracies (r = ?0.65, p < 0.05), indicating that greater numbers of points had larger errors. The smallest differences belonged to the neighborhood-based noise filtering and the larger cloth size (5) and the smaller threshold value (0.2). The most accurate model was generated with the natural neighbor interpolation with the cloth size of 5 and the threshold of 0.2. These results can serve as a guide for researchers using point clouds when considering the steps of data preparation, classification, or interpolation in a flat terrain.

    摘要: The space-borne earth observation LiDAR satellite Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) equipped with photon counting LiDAR system was launched on September 15, 2018. Significantly different from waveform laser altimeter carried on ICESat, the multiple beams photon counting laser altimeter can better measure Earth’ surface and directly provide the location of the scattering event. Due to the high sensitivity, the photon detector responds photons come from the solar background and the atmospheric scattering, which causes plenty of noise. It is necessary to study an effective method to identify signal photons from noise. This paper aims to study serval typical noise filtering methods and discuss their characteristics. The experiments are conducted on both ice sheet and vegetation data sets. The results are presented and some suggestions for choosing which denoising method to face in different environmental conditions are given.
