    摘要: The article presents the results of the development of a universal control system for semiconductor power converters based on a programmable logic devices (PLD). As a result of the work done, shared functional modules for the various control systems of semiconductor converters were determined, the features of implementing modules on programmable logic were considered, and the algorithms for controlling converters on mathematical models were studied. The principal circuit diagram of the universal control system of the converter is synthesized on the basis of a combination of programmable logic devises and a microcontroller. The topologies of printed circuit boards and their layout in a single module of the universal control system of the converter are developed; the built-in microcontroller software was written and debugged in the assembler language. An experimental sample of the control system was made and its joint tests with a prototype of a low-power three-phase inverter equipped with a load simulator were carried out, oscillograms of control pulses and output voltage were obtained in various modes of inverter control.

    摘要: A capsule endoscope system that can support wide visualization field and location tracking capability is proposed. The body channel communication (BCC) transceiver integrated circuit (IC) and 4-camera module is integrated in the proposed capsule endoscope. To support 4-camera image transmission, BCC transceiver provide high speed data rate with low-power. With cross-coupled camera module, 360-degree of image capturing is supported. For the accurate (sub-cm range) capsule localization, contact attenuation compensation scheme is proposed. The system is integrated on the rigid flexible printed circuit board (PCB) to reduce system form factor. The proposed endoscope system operates longer than 8 hours with 4fps and 12 hours with 2fps with conventional small size coin battery and verified through human mimicking phantom.

  • Performance analysis of a novel trench SOI LDMOS with centrosymmetric double vertical field plates

    摘要: A novel trench SOI LDMOS with centrosymmetric double vertical field plates structure (CDVFPT SOI LDMOS) is proposed in this paper. The 2-D device simulator MEDICI is used to investigate the characteristics of the proposed structure. Compared with the conventional trench SOI LDMOS (CT SOI LDMOS), the optimized device shows an obvious reduction in the specific on-resistance (Ron,sp) when its breakdown voltage (BV) is enhanced due to the introduction of centrosymmetric double vertical field plates structure. And when compared to previous device with floating vertical field plate trench SOI LDMOS (FVFPT SOI LDMOS), the overall performance of CDVFPT SOI LDMOS is also promoted. According to the simulation results, compared to a CT SOI LDMOS, the BV of CDVFPT SOI LDMOS increases from 188 V to 234 V. The Ron,sp, however, decreases from 2.30 mΩ·cm2 to 1.24 mΩ·cm2. In addition, the maximum lattice temperature at 1 mW/μm2 is slightly reduced.

    摘要: Overvoltage is one of the major issues on distribution grids with high penetration of photovoltaic (PV) generation. Overvoltage could be prevented through the control of active/reactive power of PVs. However, given the high R/X ratio of low voltage feeders, voltage control by using reactive power would not be as effective as using active power. Therefore, active power curtailment (APC) of PVs, though not desirable, becomes necessary at times to prevent the overvoltage issues. Existing literature is rich in centralized and droop-based methods for APC and/or reactive power control of PVs to prevent overvoltage issues. In this context, this paper revisits the most popular existing methods, and evaluates the performance of droop-based and centralized methods using a typical North American 240 V low voltage feeder with 24 residential homes. In this work, our key findings are: a) droop-based methods provided conservative solutions or did not eliminate the overvoltages completely, b) power flow sensitivity based droop approach led to 13% more curtailment than the centralized approaches, c) centralized approach had 40% less energy curtailed compared with standard droop while no overvoltages were observed, and d) operating PVs at non-unity power factor in centralized approach led to 5% less energy curtailment.

    摘要: The inductive power transfer (IPT) is negatively affected by the bifurcation. Current methods for IPT analysis are general, not designated for the bifurcation analysis – they may be cumbersome or not effective enough. The proposed method describes device operating point (OP) by a combination of load quality factors. The OP is plotted in a diagram and based on its position towards the bifurcation boundary, the bifurcation occurs. Multiple OP joined together to form an operating trajectory suitable for a process evaluation or an operating area, suitable for parameter range analysis in the device design.

    摘要: As an important component of Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system for transmitting energy, the coupler, composed of coils and shielding, is worth studying parameters effect on the system performance. When the WPT system is applied to trams, the primary coupler is installed between two rails, and the secondary coupler is installed at the bottom of the carriages. The magnetic field produced by the coupler has an effect on carriages and rails, which need to be analyzed. In this paper, the influences of coupler parameters on system performance are analyzed. The mathematical model of coupler is found. The measure to improve the metal influences of the vehicle body is put forward, and the correctness of the analysis is verified through preliminary experiments.

  • A method for experimental thermo-mechanical aging of materials submitted to concentrated solar irradiation

    摘要: Concentrated Solar Technology can produce process heat, power and fuels from solar energy in the temperature range 150–1500 °C, bringing the question of the receiver ability to reliably perform over the expected lifetime. Conventional methods commonly used to assess the mechanical stability and lifetime involve in-door laboratory testing, which suffers from the fundamental inability to reproduce the real operating conditions. A previous work introduced an original experimental setup based on acoustic emission named IMPACT (In situ thermo-Mechanical Probe by ACoustic Tracking), designed for an in situ and passive characterization of receiver materials under harsh thermo-mechanical stresses. This paper proposes an original method, based on a modelling approach, to control the sample damage amplification with IMPACT, and assess its relevance through an experimental campaign on two selected materials (SiC and Inconel 625).

  • Power spectral density-based nearinfrared sub-band detection for noninvasive blood glucose prediction in both <i>in-vitro</i> and <i>in-vivo</i> studies

    摘要: Diabetes is a widespread and serious disease and noninvasive measurement has been in high demand. To address this problem, a power spectral density-based method was offered for determining glucose sensitive sub-bands in the nearinfrared (NIR) spectrum. The experiments were conducted using phantoms of different optical properties in-vitro conditions. The optical bands 1200–1300 nm and 2100–2200 nm were found feasible for measuring blood glucose. After that, a photoplethysmography (PPG)-based low cost and portable optical system was designed. It has six different NIR wavelength LEDs for illumination and an InGaAs photodiode for detection. Optical density values were calculated through the system and used as independent variables for multiple linear regression analysis. The results of blood glucose levels for 24 known healthy subjects showed that the optical system prediction was nearly 80% in the A zone and 20% in the B zone according to the Clarke Error Grid analysis. It was shown that a promising easy-use, continuous, and compact optical system had been designed.

    摘要: This paper reports the design of a four-branch optical power splitter using MMI structure and taper output branches in III-nitride semiconductors. The numerical experimental is conducted using the 3D FD-BPM method. The results show that the optical power splitter has an excess loss of 0.27 dB and imbalance of 0.12 dB. It is also shown that the proposed design can be realized for C band range. This result opens the opportunity for the future device using this technology.

  • Light in power

    摘要: We present in this paper a generic and parameter-free algorithm to efficiently build a wide variety of optical components, such as mirrors or lenses, that satisfy some light energy constraints. In all of our problems, one is given a collimated or point light source and a desired illumination after reflection or refraction and the goal is to design the geometry of a mirror or lens which transports exactly the light emitted by the source onto the target. We first propose a general framework and show that eight different optical component design problems amount to solving a light energy conservation equation that involves the computation of visibility diagrams. We then show that these diagrams all have the same structure and can be obtained by intersecting a 3D Power diagram with a planar or spherical domain. This allows us to propose an efficient and fully generic algorithm capable to solve these eight optical component design problems. The support of the prescribed target illumination can be a set of directions or a set of points located at a finite distance. Our solutions satisfy design constraints such as convexity or concavity. We show the effectiveness of our algorithm on simulated and fabricated examples.
