    摘要: In this paper, a novel power divider based on hybrid circuit of spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) and substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed. The hybrid circuit consists of three paths including one input branch (SIW) and two identical output branches (spoof SPPs). The pass-band of the power divider is controllable by designing the geometrical parameters of spoof SPPs and SIW, which is because that spoof SPPs and SIW can adjust the upper and lower cutoff frequencies, respectively. Simulated results demonstrated the characteristics of power dividers, such as highly efficient transmission, low loss, and bandwidth adjustable. The combining of spoof SPPs and SIW provides more potential for the development of the integrated functional devices in microwave frequency.

  • Design of Rectangular Waveguide to Microstrip Power Dividers and Their Application as Compact Rectangular Matching Terminations

    摘要: In this article, a vertical four-way rectangular waveguide to microstrip power divider is proposed. The power divider achieves perfect power division from 10.1 to 11 GHz with a 20-dB return loss and a short longitudinal length. Based on the four-way power divider, two microstrip ports are added, and a compact improved four-way rectangular waveguide to microstrip power divider is constructed. The 20-dB return loss bandwidth of the power divider can be extended from 9.9 to 12.4 GHz. If all the output microstrip ports are connected to resistive loads, the power dividers become rectangular matching terminations. Thus, the four-way power divider can achieve a rectangular matching load with an 8% bandwidth and a 2-mm matching length. The improved four-way power divider can achieve a rectangular matching load with a 22.4% bandwidth and a 2.5-mm matching length. The measurements agree well with the simulations. The proposed designs of the rectangular loads are superior in their compact volume, high power capacity, and ease of fabrication.

    摘要: For microwave and millimeter-wave measurement, a six-port network based on double ridge gap waveguide (DRGW) is proposed, and it is the first attempt to design the six-port network by using gap waveguide technology. In this work, DRGW power divider and DRGW 90 degrees - 3dB coupler are regarded as the basic elements, and they are designed by DRGW according to the schematic diagram. By simulation, the six-port network is designed to operate at 40 GHz with the fractional bandwidth of 8.5%, and performance indicators of phase and amplitude between different ports are satisfied with design requirements.

  • A planar eight‐way compact substrate integrated waveguide based radial power divider with broadband performance

    摘要: A compact broadband eight-way substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based radial power divider at C-band is presented in the article. Bandwidth enhancement is achieved by employing planar impedance transformer consisting of an annular slot and circular patch at the input and output feed positions. The equivalent circuit analysis helps in the optimization of the annular slot and circular patch on the substrate. The proposed compact power divider has fractional bandwidth of 53.5% for 15 dB input return loss. Broadband characteristics are achieved without using any bulky mechanical arrangement for feed matching. It has a size of 0.72 λg 2 and the measured amplitude imbalance is within 0.5 dB at the center frequency of 6.6 GHz.

    摘要: This paper presents a design of phased array antenna using a full 360o and programmable continuous phase shifter based on angle of arrival techniques of indoor localization. This antenna system allows to electrically steer main beam direction smoothly, so the number of beams is independent of the number of antenna elements as previous research, and resolution for indoor localization system is improved. Antenna elements are fed through parallel feed network including Wilkinson power dividers and full 360o, continuous phase shifters. Radiation patterns, experimented from -45o to 45o in an anechoic chamber, show that the main beam direction is quite close to the desired direction in simulation, and the side lobe level is less than main beam about 10dB.

  • A MODIFIED GYSEL POWER DIVIDER WITH ARBITRARY POWER DIVIDING RATIO

    摘要: A modi?ed Gysel power divider with arbitrary power dividing ratio is proposed in this letter. The power dividing ratio of the proposed circuit is determined by both the electrical lengths and characteristic impedances of transmission lines. The proposed circuit is analyzed based on transmission line theory, and design equations are derived. For veri?cation, two prototypes operating at 2 GHz with power dividing ratios of 1 : 1 and 4 : 1 are designed, fabricated and measured, respectively. The measured results are in good agreements with the simulated ones.

  • FILTERED POWER SPLITTER USING MICROSTRIP SQUARE OPEN LOOP RESONATORS

    摘要: A microstrip power splitter with band-pass responses is presented in this paper. The design is based on square open loop resonator topology. This ?ltered power splitter does not require quarter wavelength transformers and will result in a smaller size than a conventional Wilkinson power divider with integrated band-pass ?lter. It is a two-way equal power splitter with ?fth order band-pass ?lter characteristics. The power splitter is designed to have Chebyshev band-pass response function. A theoretical analytical circuit model will be presented. From the theoretical model, a microstrip ?ltered power splitter will be designed and simulated. The proposed ?ltered power splitter is small in size and reduces circuit complexity. The power splitter is simulated and measured, and the results are presented.

  • POWER DIVIDER BASED ON STEPPED-IMPEDANCE SLOTLINE

    摘要: A novel 180? out-of-phase power divider based on stepped-impedance slotline is presented in this article. This power divider employs one T-junction formed by microstrip line and slotline to obtain two out-of-phase dividing signals. Stepped-impedance slotline and lumped resistor are introduced to improve the isolation between output ports. The experimental data show that the proposed power divider has good performance on insertion loss, return losses, isolation, phase balance, as well as group delay over the wide band 5 GHz–10 GHz.

  • Novel Reconfigurable Single-to-Balanced, Power-Dividing, and Single-Ended Filter With Frequency and Bandwidth Control

    摘要: In this paper, a novel tunable ?lter with recon?gurable single-to-balanced (SE-BAL), power dividing (PD), and single-to-single-ended (SE) ?ltering functionalities is proposed, for the ?rst time, without any additional switching circuit. The proposed ?lter only consists of three stepped-impedance resonators, which are loaded and connected by varactors in between. With a very simple and compact con?guration, the proposed ?lter achieves multiple recon?gurable functionalities between SE-BAL ?ltering, PD ?ltering, and conventional SE bandpass ?ltering. Moreover, the recon?gurable SE-BAL, PD, and SE bandpass ?lter can not only offer continuously frequency tuning over a wide tuning range but also have independent bandwidth tuning and maintain good phase/amplitude balance in each tuning state. The proposed ?lter is designed and fabricated with the microstrip line technology; the measured results show that the SE-BAL, PD, and SE ?ltering functions can be continuously tuned from 1.02 to 1.32, 0.96 to 1.27, and 1 to 1.28 GHz, with 1-dB bandwidth tuning from 30 to 60, 30 to 110, and 70 to 130 MHz, respectively. The amplitude and phase imbalances of the SE-BAL and PD bandpass ?lter are less than 0.4 dB, 1.3° and 0.5 dB, 1.5°, respectively, in the passband of each tuning state. Good agreement was obtained between simulated and measured results.

    摘要: A novel frequency-tunable power divider based on frequency sampling method is designed in this paper. The frequency-tunable structure located on the input-port of the is different from the conventional power divider, which frequency-tunable method. The frequency-tunable function of the frequency-tunable structure depends on the slot-line resonator. The resonant frequency of the slot-line resonator can be tuned by changing the voltage of the parallel varactor. The frequency-tunable power divider has the features of simple structure and easy-to-realization. Only one varactor is used for the tunable frequency. The simulated results show that the operation frequency of the power divider can be tuned between 0.87GHz and 1.45GHz with the return loss and the isolation greater than 15dB. The output-port’s amplitude unbalance is less than 0.05dB and the phase unbalance is less than 0.5degree.
