Enhancement of objects in photoacoustic tomography using selective filtering
摘要: Here we developed a real-time photoacoustic tomography (PAT) imaging acquisition device based on the linear array transducer utilized on ultrasonic devices. Also, we produced a phantom including diverse contrast media and acquired PAT imaging as the light source wavelength was changing to see if the contrast media reacted. Indocyanine green showed the highest reaction around the 800-nm band, methylene blue demonstrated the same in the 750-nm band, and gold nanoparticle showed the same in the 700-nm band. However, in the case of superparamagnetic iron oxide, we observed not reaction within the wavelength bands used herein to obtain imaging. Moreover, we applied selective filtering to the acquired PAT imaging to remove noise from around and reinforce the object’s area. Consequentially, we could see the object area in the imaging was effectively detected and the image noise was removed.

Research on multi-camera calibration and point cloud correction method based on three-dimensional calibration object
摘要: The single camera measurement system can’t obtain all the surface information of the object limited by the field of view, thus it can’t achieve complete measurement of the object. Multi-camera system can overcome this difficulty. But it is difficult to unify the coordinate system of distinct cameras. In order to solve this problem, a global calibration method of multi-camera system is proposed. A three-dimensional cube calibration object is designed. Every camera is only calibrated on one surface of the cube calibration object. Because different surfaces of the cube calibration object are in a unified world coordinate, the coordinates of the feature points on different surfaces are naturally in the unified world coordinate system. Thus global calibration can be completed by calibrating multiple cameras at the same time. In addition, to minimize the error of calibration, a correction method is proposed. The correction parameters are obtained by the deviation between the world coordinates and the reconstructed coordinates of the feature points on calibration object. The parameters are applied to the measurement to improve the accuracy of the whole point cloud. Experiments are carried out on a multi-camera measurement system, and the results show that the method proposed in this paper is effective and feasible.

Communicating the spatiotemporal transformation of architectural heritage via an in-situ projection mapping installation
摘要: Understanding the spatial transformation of architectural heritage over time is crucial for documentation and conservation purposes, but also for communicating the salient architectural features of the buildings’ evolution to the public at large. With the rapid evolution of physical computing technologies such as electronics, sensors and digital projections, we believe that the technique of projection mapping offers great potential in communicating heritage in-situ because its graphical depiction on the heritage itself can more directly relate to the real context in more experiential ways. Furthermore, digital projections can include various interactive functionalities that together with its architectural size provide an immersive experience that is dynamic and adaptable to the interests of the visitors. Consequently, this paper aims to investigate the deployment of an interactive projection mapping installation in-situ which can be steered by a tangible user interface (TUI). Through an in-the-wild study, we deployed a mixed-method evaluation to investigate how such an interactive projection mapping enhances the communication of the spatiotemporal transformation of a medieval chapel that occurred during the last 850 years. Our findings show how the in-situ projection positively affects visitors’ understanding and memorability of the aesthetic features, and how its combination with a tangible interface enhances the communication of the spatial features of the chapel over time, and allows for more social interaction among them. The paper concludes with several discussion points and recommendations for applying interactive projection mapping and TUIs in the context of architectural heritage.

摘要: When an image is projected onto a non-planer surface, the resolution is not spatially uniform because projectors are normally designed to display an image with spatially uniform pixel density on a flat surface. We propose to insert a transparent layer between a projector and a non-planar surface and optimize its shape to make the projection pixel density spatially uniform, which can be controlled by non-uniformly refracting a projection light through the transparent layer. We use a multi-material 3D printer to fabricate the transparent layer combined with a non-planar surface. From the result of a projection experiment with the surface, we validate our proposed method.

Novel fused-silica charge detection tile for particle detectors
摘要: Purpose Develop a novel charge-detecting tile for future large-scale liquid xenon TPC for searching for neutrinoless double-beta decay. Methods Use advanced microelectronic technologies to fabricate small metal pads on a fused-silica wafer. The pads are chained into orthogonal strips, and the strips are isolated at the cross sections. The size of the pads de?nes the pitch between parallel strips and can be ?exibly tuned according to any optimized dimension from future Monte Carlo studies. Such tile also has good potential to suppress the radioactivity and control electronics noise. Furthermore, its modular design allows to easily cover a large size. Results The design and performance have been demonstrated by a prototype tile, particularly by comprehensive tests in liquid xenon. Conclusions A new design of charge detection tile and the fabrication technologies have been developed, which would be useful for future noble liquid detectors.

Exploring approximate geometries of minimum energy conical intersections by TDDFT calculations
摘要: An approach is proposed to obtain approximate geometries for minimum energy conical intersections between the ground and first excited singlet electronic states (S0/S1-MECIs) using the time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). This approach uses the energy shift method to avoid discontinuities on TDDFT potential energy surfaces around conical intersections. It is shown numerically that the approximate S0/S1-MECIs of benzene and naphthalene obtained by this approach qualitatively reproduce the geometries and energies of the S0/S1-MECIs obtained by multireference theories. Moreover, the performance of the present approach when combined with an automated MECI searching method is examined through applications to benzene and naphthalene.

摘要: Nowadays, spectacles are common which are used to flaunt off your style and stand out among the others in a crowd. But why not disguise some special features within it apart from the style and eye power? There have been many attempts to enhance the way we use our daily commodities in order to expand its range of effectiveness. And so, we strive for further utilizing the spectacles not only as a wearable device but also as a productive device. We propose for a surveillance spectacle which is both swanky and with some extra applications. One of the feature is a camera incorporated at the nose bridge of a spectacle to capture images or videos of the nearby surroundings. This can be used as a hands-free camera for personal as well as for professional purposes. Also, the camera along with a lens can be used as a projector for displaying the captured images/videos. We have further implemented a Bluetooth module which can be linked to any wireless printer so as to print out any images. Finally, the most interesting of all, we have made an attempt to add a stress measurement algorithm through which any human eye's stress can be calculated and will further indicate users about the amount of stress on the eye indirectly cautioning them to give some rest to the eye if it is in a humongous amount of stress. Therefore, this concept is what we believe will improve human life and build up a user-friendly environment.

摘要: This paper proposes a compressed columnwise robust principal component analysis (CCRPCA) method for hyperspectral anomaly detection. The CCRPCA improves the regular RPCA by using the Hadamard random projection and constraining the columnwise structure of sparse anomaly matrix. The Hadamard random projection reduces the computational cost of the hyperspectral data, and the columnwise sparse structure alleviates negative effects from the anomalies on the columns of the background. The sparse anomaly matrix and the background matrix are estimated by optimizing a convex program, and the anomalies are estimated from nonzero columns of the compressed sparse matrix. Preliminary experiment result from the San Diego dataset shows that the CCRPCA outperforms four state-of-the-art detection methods in both the receiver operating characteristic curve and the area under curve.

MIDAS projection
摘要: The visual appearance of an object can be disguised by projecting virtual shading as if overwriting the material. However, conventional projection-mapping methods depend on markers on a target or a model of the target shape, which limits the types of targets and the visual quality. In this paper, we focus on the fact that the shading of a virtual material in a virtual scene is mainly characterized by surface normals of the target, and we attempt to realize markerless and modelless projection mapping for material representation. In order to deal with various targets, including static, dynamic, rigid, soft, and fluid objects, without any interference with visible light, we measure surface normals in the infrared region in real time and project material shading with a novel high-speed texturing algorithm in screen space. Our system achieved 500-fps high-speed projection mapping of a uniform material and a tileable-textured material with millisecond-order latency, and it realized dynamic and flexible material representation for unknown objects. We also demonstrated advanced applications and showed the expressive shading performance of our technique.

Interference Suppression of Partially Overlapped Signals Using GSVD and Orthogonal Projection
摘要: In order to solve the problem in Automatic Identification System (AIS) that the signal in the target slot cannot be correctly received due to partial overlap of signals in adjacent time slots, the paper introduces a new criterion: maximum expected signal power (MESP) and proposes a novel beamforming algorithm based on generalized singular value decomposition (GSVD) and orthogonal projection. The algorithm employs GSVD to estimate the signal subspace, and adopts orthogonal projection to project the received signal onto the orthogonal subspace of the non-target signal. Then, beamforming technique is used to maximize the output power of the target signal on the basis of MESP. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
