    摘要: To expand the radiation pattern in the plane of the magnetic field vector, it is proposed to make a design from the classical antenna in the form of a fan of such antennas with a common array feed point. A comparative analysis of the directional and scattering characteristics of single and fan antenna Vivaldi was carried out. The efficiency of their use as reflectors of electromagnetic properties is estimated.

    摘要: A plane-wave synthesis approach for determining the 3D monostatic radar cross section from a set of near-field measurements is presented. Compared to image based techniques, it does not suffer from inaccuracies in the case of multiple interactions. At the same time, very general measurement setups are possible without introducing severe truncation errors and the resulting field transformation problem can still be solved efficiently, due to the implementation based on propagating plane-wave expansions of the Green’s function. The theory of the algorithm is first outlined and then validated using simulated near-field and far-field data.

    摘要: RF stealth is an important feature of advanced fighters, and the engine represents a large scattering source. In this paper we present a digital mock-up of a fighter jet engine, and simulate its radar cross section (RCS) in UHF and S band with multi-level fast multipole method (MLFMM), and plot its near fields inside the engine. We found the boresight S-band RCS can be as high as 20 dBsm, and the near field plots indicate radar wave can transmit through the engine even at 400 MHz.

    摘要: Possibilities of the active cancellation of bistatic radar cross section (RCS) of the large aircraft (LA) with help of stealth conformal 4-port magnetic antenna (MA) is considered. The antenna is located in the upper part of the fuselage of an aircraft in a niche under the radar absorbing radome. The antenna is simulated in the form of loop, three-layer ferrite core with four single-turn coils and with excitation ports (in the modes of radiation and scattering). The effect of excitation of the ports on radiation patterns and the cancellation of bistatic RCS of LA?MA system in the range of 10 to 30 MHz is studied. It is shown that the smart inclusion of two or four ports of the active MA in the stealth-mode provides of the deep reduction (more 40 dB relative to aircraft RCS without antenna) of bistatic total RCS in the given angular sectors of observation.

  • High-Gain Fabry-Perot Antennas with Wideband Low Monostatic RCS Using Phase Gradient Metasurface

    摘要: The design of two high-gain Fabry-Perot (F-P) antennas with wideband low monostatic radar cross section (RCS) is presented in this paper. Firstly, a phase gradient metasurface (PGM) without lossy layer is used to realize in-band RCS reduction and high aperture efficiency simultaneously. The simulated results show that its peak gain is 19.2 dBi and a high aperture efficiency of 58.6% is achieved. By utilizing the PGM structure, the monostatic RCS is reduced from 7GHz to 11GHz and the in-band co-polarization RCS is reduced by 13.1 dB. After that, a PGM with metamaterial absorber (MA) is designed to broaden the bandwidth of RCS reduction. A prototype antenna is fabricated and measured. The peak gain of 17.9 dBi is obtained and the monostatic RCS is reduced in a wider frequency band of 7GHz to 15GHz.

  • ANALYSIS OF WIDE BAND SCATTERING FROM OBJECTS USING THE ADAPTIVE IMPROVED ULTRA-WIDE BAND CHARACTERISTIC BASIS FUNCTIONS

    摘要: The improved ultra-wide band characteristic basis function method (IUCBFM) is an efficient approach to analyze the wide-band scattering problems because the improved ultra-wide characteristic basis functions (IUCBFs) can be reused for any frequency sample in the range of interest. However, the number of the IUCBFs constructed at the highest frequency point is excessive, and the computational complexity will be increased when applying the same number of IUCBFs at the lower frequency points. To mitigate this problem, an adaptive IUCBFs construction method is presented which can decrease the computational complexity at the lower frequency points. In the proposed method, the given frequency band is adaptively divided into multiple sub-bands in consideration of the number of the IUCBFs. The adaptive IUCBFs are obtained at the highest frequency point in each sub-band, which leads to smaller number of IUCBFs and significant reduction of solver time at lower frequency band. The numerical results have demonstrated the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method.

  • RECTANGULAR WAVE BEAM BASED GO/PO METHOD FOR RCS SIMULATION OF COMPLEX TARGET

    摘要: The rectangular wave beams-based geometrical optics (GO) and physical optics (PO) hybrid method is applied to the radar cross section (RCS) simulation of complex target. In the implementation process, the incident wave beam is divided into plenty of regular rectangular wave beams. The RCS of target is subsequently harvested from the sum of the contributions from rectangular wave beams. And Open Graphics Library (OpenGL) is used to accelerate ray tracing for the GO/PO method. Here, each pixel corresponds to a rectangular wave beam, which improves the defect that the pixel number should be larger than the patch number on the model and the e?ciency in the general OpenGL based GO/PO method. In addition, the patch size in the presented method can be arbitrary as long as the model is described accurately with these patches. The simulation results prove this point and show that the proposed rectangular wave beam-based GO/PO method is feasible and can keep a high calculation accuracy and e?ciency with a low pixel number.
