    摘要: This paper examines how the selection of the PV rating and energy storage capacity affects the economic benefits for a grid-connected household. It proposes a novel technique called the critical capacity method which provides useful intuitive insights into the optimisation as well as potential runtime improvements compared to conventional methods. The critical capacity method is applied to a case study of the optimisation of a particular household. A sensitivity analysis of the results to factors such as the household load profile, PV/storage pricing and averaging of the PV/load data is performed.

    摘要: Self-consumption of homemade electricity from renewable energy in encouraged by the European commission to enforce their penetration in state energy portfolios. By using electrical energy storage systems and demand response, this technique can lower the overall cost of the renewable energy transfer in the electrical system and so increase it. To develop self- consumption efficiently, various energy policies can be imagined to create economic support schemes for motivating consumers to make active decisions in this way and mobilizing financial resources for an energy transition toward more RES in the future. Germany has experimented earlier this policy orientation while France is only beginning to consider self-consumption. The goal of this paper is to compare German and French policies in order to evaluate the benefits of PV production self-consumption. So economic national frameworks are recalled and then a 100kW PV producer is considered. With one-year time data series and an energy model, different operation conditions are simulated and times of return on investment are compared. Then, benefits for the electrical network operation are studied. The benchmark distribution network model from CIGRé is used to quantify and compare technical constraint occurrences.

  • Clustering and dispatching hydro, wind, and photovoltaic power resources with multiobjective optimization of power generation fluctuations: A case study in southwestern China

    摘要: Hydropower can be used to smooth out the output fluctuations from power systems including wind and solar sources. This paper proposes a double-layer model for coordinating the operations of cascaded hydropower and neighboring wind and photovoltaic (PV) facilities. In a local complementary model, hydropower with less regulating ability (local complementary hydropower, LCH) is dispatched to alleviate short-term fluctuations (i.e., hourly variations), whereas in the global one, hydropower with greater regulating capacity (global complementary hydropower, GCH) is operated to alleviate long-term fluctuations (i.e., intraday peak-valley differences). The results of a case study of a hydro-wind-PV cluster project in southwestern China show that most (90%) short-term fluctuations can be smoothed by LCH with a minimum impact on the capacity factor (-0.02). In contrast, alleviation of long-term fluctuations can be achieved with GCH, but this causes a large capacity factor reduction (-0.25). The discharge fluctuation of GCH is notably lower (70~75%) than that of LCH. In this system (which includes 5,200 MW wind and 1,400 MW PV), the output fluctuations can be eliminated if hydropower capacity reaches 2,200 MW. These findings demonstrate that clustering of hydropower cascades with wind and solar generation facilities is a promising avenue for the decarbonization of electricity systems.
