摘要: A high-performance numerical is proposed for fully coupled electrothermal simulation of electrothermal effects in resistive switching random access memory (RRAM) arrays. To enhance its capability for fast solving large scale problem, a J parallel adaptive unstructured mesh infrastructure and domain decomposition method (DDM) based double-level parallel scheme is employed to implement a parallel simulator. The performance of the developed simulator is validated by comparing with that of COMSOL Multiphysics. Further, the influence of conductive filament (CF) shape in the RRAM arrays on their electrothermal characteristics are investigated and analyzed.

摘要: This paper presents a 3-D statistical channel impulse response (IR) model for urban line of sight (LOS) and non-LOS channels developed from 28- and 73-GHz ultrawideband propagation measurements in New York City, useful in the design of 5G wireless systems that will operate in both the ultra-high frequency/microwave and millimeter-wave (mmWave) spectrum to increase channel capacities. A 3GPP-like stochastic IR channel model is developed from measured power delay profiles, angle of departure, and angle of arrival power spectra. The extracted statistics are used to implement a channel model and simulator capable of generating 3-D mmWave temporal and spatial channel parameters for arbitrary mmWave carrier frequency, signal bandwidth, and antenna beamwidth. The model presented here faithfully reproduces realistic IRs of measured urban channels, supporting air interface design of mmWave transceivers, filters, and multi-element antenna arrays.

Developer Design of Hybrid Plasmonic Nano Patch Antenna with Metal Insulator Metal Multilayer Construction
摘要: Hybrid plasmonic nanopatch antenna with metal-insulator-metal (HMIM) multilayer has been investigated for operation at the frequency of 125–250 THz using the finite element method (FEM) implemented in Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The proposed antenna exhibits a wide bandwidth of 49.5 THz (151.5 THz–201 THz) for the slots thicknesses Wg = 50 nm and Ws = 100 nm and dual bandwidth for Ws = 20 nm. The obtained results show the input impedance of 50.3 Ω input resistance (real part) and 2.3 Ω reactance (imaginary part) occurring at (near) the operation frequency. The maximum gain of 23.98 dB has been observed for resonant frequencies of 176 THz, and the maximum directivity remains above 6.73 dB and 7.46 dB at resonant frequencies of 170 THz and 190 THz, respectively. Our proposed antenna performance is compared to previously reported designs. The copolar and cross-polar radiation patterns are simulated at different resonant frequencies of 160 THz and 197 THz for planes Φ = 90° and Φ = 0° . The arrays of a proposed antenna are designed in one and two dimensions in order to appropriate high-gain applications.

摘要: This paper presents a photovoltaic (PV) emulator based on Power Hardware in the Loop Simulation (PHILS). Use of PHILS for source emulation is getting popular in the modern day due to its advantage in recreating an actual like testing environment. However, selection of proper power interface is crucial to achieve a stable PHILS. This paper utilizes an advanced control algorithm to extend the bandwidth of a switched mode buck-based power amplifier (PA). This allows PA in the interface to minimize the latencies thereby helping in the stability of the PHILS. The PV model inside the real time simulator is used to generate the PV characteristics as required. This allows user to have better flexibility as compared to conventional standalone PV emulator in a test setup for grid integration studies. A 260 W buck converter prototype is designed and implemented to realize the power amplification stage. The PV array model is simulated in real time digital simulator (RTDS). A comparative experimental evaluation is conducted between the real time PV array simulation and PHIL based PV emulator to validate its performance.

Device simulation of Nanopillar based CdS/CdTe solar cell
摘要: A Nanopillar based n-CdS/p-CdTe solar cell has been simulated using TCAD device simulator SILVACO. Both the electrodes have been realized on the same plane and at the backside of the device. Detailed study has shown that there is a significant improvement in the extracted parameters of interest for the proposed device in comparison with its equivalent planar p-n junction counterpart. Besides, effective carrier collection by the Nanopillar, has also resulted improvement in the parameters of interests such as maximum power generated, fill factor and conversion efficiency. The parameters of interests have also been improved with the increase of the height of the Nanopillar.

Effect of moving pictures on visual task performance and fatigue using 4K OLED and LCD TVs
摘要: This study compared the effects of 4K organic light‐emitting diode (OLED) and liquid‐crystal display (LCD) TVs on human visual task performance and fatigue when viewing moving pictures. In experiments conducted, subjects were asked to locate 35 icons among a total of 276 on‐screen icons at four moving picture speeds. From the results obtained, it was determined that OLED TVs (emissive type) exhibit superior characteristics for hit rate and false alarm rate compared with LCD TVs (non‐emissive‐type). The evaluation results of a simulator sickness questionnaire administered to ascertain fatigue levels also indicated that OLED TVs induce relatively little fatigue at fast‐moving picture speeds of 10 ppf or more compared with LCD TVs. Thus, this study confirms that OLED TVs, given their ultrafast response time characteristics, are superior in terms of moving picture images to LCD TVs.

Relationship between the ideality factor and the iron concentration in silicon solar cells
摘要: The ideality factor value of silicon ??+ ? ?? solar cells with iron contaminants has been studied by means of computer simulation. The iron concentration range of 1010 ? 1013 cm?3, base doping level range of 1015 ? 1017 cm?3, and temperature range of 290 ? 340 K were used in the investigation. The Solar Cells Capacitance Simulator (SCAPS) was the tool used for numerical simulation of these devices. The two-diode model was used to extract the ideality factor. The following cases were considered: (i) Shockley–Read–Hall (SRH) recombination; (ii) both intrinsic recombination and SRH recombination; (iii) unpaired interstitial iron atoms; (iv) both iron–boron pairs and interstitial iron atoms. The algorithms of iron concentration evaluation in silicon solar cell by using current–voltage curve are proposed. The analytic expressions are suggested as well as calibration curves are calculated.

Photovoltaic Roof Tiles: The Influence of Heat Recovery on Overall Performance
摘要: A photovoltaic (PV) roof tile serves both as a roofing material and as an electricity-producing surface. The main aim of the present study was to increase the overall system efficiency of PV tiles by using heat recovery. The chosen strategy was two-fold: determine the operational efficiency of PV tiles and optimize construction to increase the cooling effect when using air as the working medium. A detailed experimental study was undertaken to determine these effects. The results indicated that a combined electrical and thermal efficiency of 24% could be reached. This is promising and proves the potential for air to be the working medium in such systems. Moreover, this shows a direction for future system optimization.

Expression and significance of quantum dots in RAW 264.7 macrophages
摘要: Robotic co-workers are an emerging generation of physical robots promises to transform manufacturing with its ability to communicate and collaborate, both robot-to-robot and robot-to-human, opening the way to greater innovation and productivity. We designed a welding robotic co-worker which observes industrial part, searches welding seams, plans welding trajectory, and simulates welding result automatically. It largely benefits small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) by allowing manufacturers handle low-volume orders without re-programming. As a co-worker, the robot communicates with its operator though brain computer interface (BCI) as well as guarantees the operator’s safety. We demonstrated the performance of this robot using a human subject study in welding simulation environment.

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF LASER TREATMENT (QUILT)A New Retinal Laser Simulation System for Training in Resource-Poor Countries
摘要: In resource-poor countries, there is a reported lack of quality and structured retinal laser training in residency and hospital eye programs. This unmet training need has been validated in current international diabetic retinopathy screening centers. Quality Improvement of Laser Treatment (QUILT) is a novel laser photocoagulation simulator that contains modules for laser treatment of PDR, diabetic macular edema (DME), retinal vein occlusion, and laser retinopexy. The primary objective of the QUILT simulation is to introduce a new bespoke application to support practical skills training in retinal laser treatment in countries where laser training is suboptimal for ophthalmologists and trainees/residents. The application was first developed as an online application but has subsequently been developed as a standalone application that can be downloaded or copied onto individual laptops or computers, so that the training is not dependent on a good internet connection.
