DUAL-BAND DUAL-SENSE CIRCULARLY POLARIZED SLOT ANTENNA WITH AN OPEN-SLOT AND A VERTICAL STUB
摘要: A new dual-band dual-sense circularly polarized (CP) slot antenna is designed in this paper. The proposed antenna is composed of a rectangle patch and a modi?ed ground plane. By opening a U-shaped open-slot and loading a vertical stub to the ground plane, a dual-sense CP performance is achieved for two frequency bands. A bevel is cut on the patch to improve the impedance matching. The antenna is fabricated on a low-cost FR4 substrate and fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure. The antenna has been investigated numerically, and a prototype was experimentally measured. Experimental results show that the measured 10-dB return loss impedance bandwidths are 18.3% (2.72–3.27 GHz) for the lower band and 23.7% (4.65–5.90 GHz) for the upper band, and the measured 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidths for the lower and upper bands can be up to 28.4% (2.48–3.30 GHz) and 26.3% (4.63–6.03 GHz), respectively.

A high gain 60 GHz antipodal Fermi-tapered slot antenna based on robust synthesized dielectric
摘要: A high performance antipodal Fermi taper slot antenna based on unique synthesized dielectric is presented for ultra-wideband radar applications at 60 GHz band. Specifically, the synthesized dielectric is implemented based on machined holes concentrates only at aperture area to improve its mechanical robustness for lengthy antenna. Further, it is able to suppress back lobe level by 2.5 dB through curving tapered end of the antenna. Concurrently, sine corrugations and dielectric loading are adopted to improve radiation pattern and gain of the antenna for over 20 dB.

摘要: In this paper, a tunable low-frequency broadband metamaterial (MM) dual-polarized rasorber based on slot arrays has been proposed. The structure consists of one air gap sandwiched between top lossy FSS layer and bottom lossless FSS layer, which exhibits a transmission window at 1.70GHz and a -10dB broadband absorption from 0.75GHz to 3.30GHz while the thickness is less than 10% of the free space wavelength at the lowest operating frequency. A switch between absorber and rasorber can be achieved by turning PIN diodes on/off, respectively. We think the proposed rasorber can be applied in low-frequency band stealth technology. The proposed design could also be easily scaled to other frequencies if necessary.

摘要: A simple U-slot microstrip patch antenna for wide band mmW beam scanning is designed and presented. The patch antenna is very simple and simulated result shows that the antenna has a wide relative bandwidth of 21.92% in the mmWave frequency band from 23.15GHz to 28.85GHz. Moreover, the patch’s radiation pattern possesses a 100 (cid:101)(cid:101) beam width at 28GHz, providing the capability of large-angle beam scanning.

摘要: This paper describes the design and demonstration of planar transmit-arrays operating in X-band with 1-bit phase quantization and based on wideband high efficiency unit cells. The unit cell consists of two identical square patch antennas loaded by C-loop slots and interconnected in their centers by a metalized via hole. The proposed transmit-array achieves a maximum directivity of 25.1 dBi and a gain of 22.8 dBi. Radiation efficiency of 56.3% is also obtained with a 1-dB gain bandwidth of up to 9.2% around 9.85 GHz and very low cross-polarization levels. The beam-steering up to 30° is achieved by tilting the focal source.

摘要: A novel radiating element proposed previously by the authors is alternatively implemented using enclosed microstrip configuration. The radiating element shows broad impedance bandwidth and unidirectional radiation pattern. Its transmission configuration makes it ideal for series-fed arrays. The new implementation presents significant improvements concerning easiness of fabrication, robustness and compatibility with other technologies. A prototype designed to work in the 6 GHz band has been fabricated and measured, and has shown the expected performance: a 50% of fractional impedance bandwidth and unidirectional, stable radiation patterns.

摘要: In this paper, an integrated antenna system is presented which comprises of an annular slot-based frequency reconfigurable multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system along with two-element printed inverted F-shape (PIFA) MIMO antenna. The annular slots are performing dual functions. In addition to being a MIMO antenna, it is also utilized as isolation enhancement structure for the PIFA based MIMO antenna.The annular slot-based MIMO antenna is tuned though a frequency band ranging from 1.73 GHz to 2.28 GHz with a minimum bandwidth of 60MHz. The slots are made reconfigurable using reverse biased varactor diodes. The integrated MIMO antenna system is developed on an FR-4 substrate with dimensions 50×110×1.56 mm3. All the antenna elements are of compact size with a low profile and planar structure and is also suitable to used in wireless devices in second generation cognitive radio (CR) platforms.
