[IEEE 2018 IEEE International Conference on Computational Electromagnetics (ICCEM) - Chengdu, China (2018.3.26-2018.3.28)] 2018 IEEE International Conference on Computational Electromagnetics (ICCEM) - A Vertically-Polarized Ultra-Wideband, Low-Profile and Folded Half Vivaldi Antenna
摘要: A vertically-polarized, ultra-wideband (UWB), low-profile Vivaldi antenna is presented in this paper. Only half of the Vivaldi is placed perpendicularly to the ground plane to achieve vertical polarization. The upper part of the antenna is folded into a right angle to achieve a low-profile. The rectangular slotlines are used to improve VSWR and enhance the gain at the end-fire orientation in the operating frequency band, and a 50? coaxial probe connects directly with the end of taper slot for feeding purpose. The total sizes are 100 (length) × 50 (width) × 16 (height) mm3. Simulated results show that the designed antenna exhibits a bandwidth from 3.2 to 24 GHz (7.5:1) for VSWR<2.2, and stable radiation patterns in 3 ~ 16 GHz.

Wideband balun filter on slot-line resonator with intrinsic balanced performance in magnitude and phase
摘要: In this article, a novel wideband balun filter on the coupled slotline-line resonator topology with intrinsic balanced performance in magnitude and phase performance is presented. The proposed wideband balun filter consists of four uniform half-wavelength slot-line resonators (SLRs) in middle, one single-ended unbalanced port, and one balanced port with two terminals. By utilizing the distinct field conversion from the slotline to the microstrip line feeding line, the proposed technique can realize good balanced performance inherently in magnitude and phase over a wideband frequency range. In order to demonstrate the proposed scheme and support the design conception, one circuit prototype is designed, fabricated, and tested. All of the measured results of the frequency response, magnitude, and phase imbalance performance agree well with the simulated one, and these results have effectively demonstrated its good filtering property, intrinsic balanced performance in magnitude and phase over a wide band frequency.

POWER DIVIDER BASED ON STEPPED-IMPEDANCE SLOTLINE
摘要: A novel 180? out-of-phase power divider based on stepped-impedance slotline is presented in this article. This power divider employs one T-junction formed by microstrip line and slotline to obtain two out-of-phase dividing signals. Stepped-impedance slotline and lumped resistor are introduced to improve the isolation between output ports. The experimental data show that the proposed power divider has good performance on insertion loss, return losses, isolation, phase balance, as well as group delay over the wide band 5 GHz–10 GHz.

A TUNABLE ELECTROMAGNETIC BANDGAP STRUCTURE USING PLASMA
摘要: A tunable electromagnetic-bangap (EBG) structure based on a double layer slotline using plasma is proposed. The plasma permittivity can be tuned by the electron density. The idea of integrating periodical plasma elements inside the slot to tune the stopband is investigated. An electron density and an electron collision frequency equal to 1.75 1013 cm?3 and 1010 s?1 respectively, are the plasma parameters selected in this study. The simulations reveal a shift rate of the second stopband equal to 6%. A new con?guration of the structure is also proposed to adapt it better to the experimental requirements. Based on the simulation results, adding the plasma elements to the modi?ed con?guration shifts the stopband 4% and reduces its bandwidth by 43% (at ?20 dB).

Compact Balanced Single-Band and Dual-Band BPFs with Controllable Bandwidth Using FoldedS-Shaped Slotline Resonators (FSSRs)
摘要: In this paper, two compact balanced bandpass filters (BPFs) using half-wavelength folded S-shaped slotline resonators (FSSRs) are designed. The proposed FSSR is realized by extending and folding a traditional S-shaped slotline resonator, which can affect the internal coupling of resonator and reduce the size of the resonator. The balanced stepped-impedance microstrip-slotline transition structures are employed to generate a wideband common-mode (CM) suppression. The proposed filters can realize a single-band differential-mode (DM) bandpass response or a dual-band one by employing one or three FSSRs, respectively. Moreover, the center frequencies of the DM passbands are independent from the CM responses, which can simplify the designs procedure significantly. In order to validate their practicability, a compact balanced dual-band BPF with controllable center frequencies and bandwidths is fabricated and good agreement between the simulated and measured results is observed.

ULTRA-WIDEBAND FOUR-WAY IN-PHASE MULTILAYER POWER DIVIDER WITH HIGH ISOLATION
摘要: A novel ultra-wideband four-way in-phase multilayer power divider based on the microstrip-to-slotline transition is proposed in this paper as a complemental slotline power divider with high isolation. Due to the introduction of three lumped isolation resistors, the isolations between output ports in the new structure have been improved. The design expressions have been derived by making use of odd-mode and even-mode method. Both simulated and measured results have proved that the proposed power divider has good impedance matching at all ports, high isolations between output ports, excellent amplitude and phase balance, as well as ?at group delay over the wide frequency range from 3.8 GHz to 11 GHz.

COMMON-MODE SUPPRESSION DESIGN FOR GIGAHERTZ DIFFERENTIAL SIGNALS BASED ON C-SLOTLINE
摘要: For wideband common-mode noise suppression in high-speed di?erential signals, a low-cost compact (cid:12)lter is proposed and designed by etching two coupled C-slotlines on the ground plane. It is found that the bandwidth of the common-mode stopband over (cid:0)10 dB is from 2.4 GHz to 6.35 GHz with no degradation of the di?erential-mode insertion loss and group delay within the wide common-mode stopband. In time domain, the di?erential signal eye diagram is not deteriorated as well. In addition, an equivalent circuit model is developed and provides a quickly prediction of the common-mode stopband. The results show a good consistency between the simulations and measurements.
