Widely tunable ytterbium-doped single-frequency all-fiber laser
摘要: We demonstrate a widely tunable ytterbium-doped single frequency all-fiber laser with a computer-controlled tunable filter and a home-made comb spectrum filter. The comb filter is realized by fusing a single strand of polarization maintaining optical fiber into a double-circulator interferometer. The spectral performance of the comb filter is verified by theoretical and experimental studies. Wavelength-tunable single frequency operation in about 55 nm (1030–1085 nm) range can be achieved through the combined effect of these two filters. The experimental outcomes exhibit that an ultra-narrow linewidth of 435 Hz with high optical signal to noise ratio greater than 50 dB and high stability of operation wavelength and output power (0.016 nm and 0.38 dB, respectively) at room temperature. Our studies provide a new way to obtain the wide-range tunable single frequency fiber laser.

Optically Modulated Tunable O-Band Praseodymium-Doped Fluoride Fiber Laser Utilizing Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube Saturable Absorber <sup>*</sup>
摘要: A tunable and optically modulated fiber laser utilizing a multi-walled carbon nanotube based saturable absorber is demonstrated for operation in the O-band region. A praseodymium-doped fluoride fiber is used as the gain medium and the system is capable of generating modulated outputs at 1300 nm. Pulsed output is observed at pump powers of 511 mW and above, with repetition rates and pulse widths that can be tuned from 41 kHz and 3.4 ??s to 48 kHz and 2.4 ??s, respectively, at the maximum pump power available. A maximum average output power of 100 ??W with a corresponding single pulse energy of 2.1 nJ is measured, while the tunability of the proposed laser is from 1290 nm to 1308 nm. The output is stable, with peak power fluctuations of ~4 dB from the average value.

摘要: Wavelength is used to induce optical nonlinearities and to generate chaos of multistable state from a tunable fiber laser with fiber Michelson interferometer (FMI). This laser is based on semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and the fiber Fabry-Perot filter (FFP) used to tune continuous wavelength. PZT attended on FFP has longer response time and plays an important part in delay time. Chaos is realized by experiments and chaos behaviors are observed from oscillograph.

Ultrafine frequency linearly tunable single-frequency fiber laser based on intracavity active tuning
摘要: An ultrafine frequency linearly tunable single-frequency fiber laser based on the intracavity active tuning is demonstrated. Single-frequency operation can be achieved by an ultrashort cavity and ultranarrow polarization-maintaining fiber Bragg grating. A sub-nanometer-accuracy piezoelectric ceramic actuator with closed-loop mode has been employed to realize the cavity-length active tuning scheme, which can achieve a linear tuning range of >1 GHz with a 3.2 -MHz/nm tuning resolution. The periodic tuning repeatability and repeat accuracy show that the scheme can realize linear frequency tuning with great tuning repeatability and high tuning precision.
