Synthesis of Lead-Doped SrTiO <sub/>3</sub> Perovskite Type Oxides and Their Photocatalytic Activity Under Visible Light Irradiation
摘要: Pure and lead-doped SrTiO3 perovskite type oxides were successfully synthesized by sol–gel method and characterized by XRD, SEM and DRS. From the results of XRD, the metal replacement with the Pb ion on the crystal lattice does not change the high crystallinity of the perovskite structure. UV-vis DRS analysis shows that Pb was in situ doped in the lattice of SrTiO3 and the absorption band shifted to a higher wavelength on the Pb-doped SrTiO3 sample compared to the pure SrTiO3 sample. We also investigated the photocatalytic activity of Pb-doped SrTiO3 for the decomposition of Rhodamine B under visible light irradiation. From the results of photocatalytic decomposition of RhB, a doping of lead into SrTiO3 perovskite oxides enhanced the photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation.

Manganese phosphinocarbodithioate for RAFT polymerisation with sunlight-induced chain end post-treatment
摘要: A new manganese RAFT agent of the formula Cp(CO)2MnP(Ph)2C(vS)SCH(CH3)Ph was synthesized in a good overall yield by a three-step reaction from cymantrene and diphenylphosphine as the main starting materials. This complex proved to be e?cient for the control of RAFT polymerisation of St, n-BA and DMAAm. The reaction course could be conveniently monitored by 31P NMR spectroscopy. The controlled character of these polymerisations and the integrity of the polymer chain ends were demonstrated by the synthesis of diblock copolymers of St and n-BA. In the case of long polymerisation times (i.e. for PSt), photo-induced polymer chain coupling reactions were detected. Importantly, removal of the Mn-RAFT-ω-chain end by visible light irradiation led to the formation of a monomodal SH-terminated PSt. These phenomena were evidenced by IR spectroscopy, SEC with RI and UV detection modes and by ESI mass spectrometry.

Antibacterial and photocatalytic activity of hydrothermally synthesized SnO2 doped GO and CNT under visible light irradiation
摘要: Bacterial and dye pollution are major problems with wastewater treatment. An increasing number of photocatalysts are being used in industry to kill bacterial and reduce pollution. In the present study, highly stable SnO2-doped nanocomposites have been prepared successively by a hydrothermal method. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized using a range of techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and electron probe micro analysis, ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). The nanocomposites showed significant dose-dependent bactericidal activity in the disc diffusion assay and cell viability test. The S-GO-SnO2 200 μg/mL produced a cell viability of 184.3 ± 11.71 and 172.3 ± 3.05 × 106 CFU/mL for E. coli and P. graminis, respectively. The S-GO-SnO2 showed significant photocatalytic degradation against MB in 120 min. The photocatalyst S-GO-SnO2 showed 159 and 161 × 106 CFU/mL at 150 min in E. coli and P. graminis, respectively. The cells treated with photocatalytic SnO2-doped nanocomposites showed 50% cell death. HR-TEM revealed 50% cell growth inhibition by bacterial damage. This photocatalytic SnO2-doped nanocomposite is a good candidate for treating industrial wastewater treatment contaminated with dyes and bacteria.
