Defects and Improvements of Pockels Transducer Voltage Segmentation
摘要: The sensing range and sensitivity of optical voltage transducer are badly limited by the inherent half-wave voltage of the electro-optic crystals and a nonlinear polarization demodulation based on Malus’ law. A multi-segmented structure can meet the requirement of the half-wave voltage but is only suitable for 500 kV and above voltage levels with incident wavelength of 632.8 nm, but it is not suitable for all voltage levels if the incident wavelength is greater than 1330 nm. By the way in the multi-segmented structure its optical path and devices are deviated easily by vibrations and thermal expansion and contraction. In this paper, the multi-segmented structure is improved to be suitable for various high-voltage levels with the wavelength of 632.8 nm or greater, and moreover, a new approach is presented to use MgTiO3 ceramics to enwrap around BGO (Bi4Ge3O12) crystal to reduce the integral voltage errors from 0.260% to 0.012%.

An Optoelectronic Pulse Drive for Quantum Voltage Synthesizer
摘要: An optoelectronic pulse drive system based on commercially available telecoms optoelectronic components and a field-programmable gate array has been developed. In order to allow the use of ac-coupled optoelectronic components, a method of adding and subtracting complementary pulses was developed. The system was used to drive a Josephson junction array to synthesize quantum-accurate voltage waveforms. These waveforms will be used in voltage waveform metrology applications. Results from the synthesis of sinusoidal unipolar voltage waveforms from 3 to 300 kHz are presented. The margin of operation was measured and shown to require an optical pulse height stability better than 0.15 mW. The use of delta–sigma code with repeated sections, suitable for a quantum voltage digitizer was also examined. A test code corresponding to a delta–sigma feedback loop rate of 250 MHz was used to synthesize a 3.125 kHz sinusoidal waveform.

摘要: This paper describes a phase measurement system based on the three-voltmeter method. The measurement system replaces three voltmeters with three thermal voltage convertors including a differential AC/DC difference measurement in which the 4-wire switching mode in the multiplexer is applied. The measurement method by the single-ended TVC outputs and differential TVC output is introduced in the phase measurement system. The details and problems on the measurement system are described and discussed.

摘要: This paper describes the implementation of a sampling wattmeter for the measurement of sinusoidal active and reactive power over the 50 Hz to 6 kHz frequency range, 20 V to 600 V voltage range, and 0.05 A to 80 A current range. The wattmeter is capable of measuring sinusoidal and distorted voltage and current signals with up to 100 harmonics of the fundamental frequency component. Details of the system design, measurement techniques, and signi?cant sources of error are presented.

摘要: A Programmable Josephson Voltage Standard (PJVS) has been used to calibrate a voltmeter by measuring the difference between a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) and a step-wise approximated sine wave from a PJVS with a difference amplifier (DA). The characterization of two different DAs was used to determine the accuracy in transferring the PJVS value to the voltmeter, operating the DAC as a real-time calibrated transfer standard with an uncertainty of a few μV/V.

摘要: BIPM has conducted a few pilot studies to investigate the possibility of extending the protocol of the BIPM program of on-site DC Josephson Voltage Standard comparisons (BIPM.EM-K10.b) to AC voltages. On-site indirect comparisons have been performed for AC low frequency sinewaves, at 1 V and 6.5 V rms, using the new BIPM Programmable Josephson Voltage Standard and the differential sampling method. A relative agreement within a few parts in 107 can typically be achieved using a commercial calibrator as a transfer standard. The noise of the phase locking process appears to be the limiting factor. We have been investigating other AC generators as possible candidates for an accurate transfer standard.

摘要: This paper describes the new progress on ac voltage measurement system with Josephson voltage standard at NIM. A low-noise differential voltage preamplifier is placed in front of a single-ended sampling ADC in order to increase common-mode rejection and minimize interference from ground loop currents, and a new type of sine fit algorithm is used to enhance the data processing accuracy and reliability of the differential sampling system. The experimental results show the feasibility of current system.

摘要: We describe a new generation of Josephson Arbitrary Waveform Synthesizers that generate programmable ac waveforms with an rms amplitude of 3 V and, at 1 kHz, have a quantum locking range greater than 1 mA. This system has two chips with a total of 204 960 Josephson junctions (JJs) co-located on a cryocooler. To test for systematic errors, we phase-shift by 180° the waveform generated by half the JJs (102 480 JJs) to produce an approximate null. The measured residual of 51 nV rms implies a relative agreement of 3 parts in 108 between the two halves of the system.
