  • Investigation of Remote Sensing Image Fusion Strategy Applying PCA to Wavelet Packet Analysis Based on IHS Transform

    摘要: Further exploration of wavelet packet analysis (WPA) in the area of image fusion has been a hot topic. It is a strategy to combine WPA with such other transforms as intensity–hue–saturation (IHS), principle component analysis (PCA) for image fusion between the panchromatic (PAN) and the multispectral (MS) image. The paper puts forward a distinct fusion method. Its main idea can be stated as three steps. Firstly, intensity component is derived from IHS model of the image after an MS image is transformed from RGB to IHS. Secondly, intensity component and a matched PAN image are decomposed by WPA at the second scale, respectively. The innovational concept with two aspects is applying PCA theory to merge wavelet packet coefficients. One is to detect edge and produce self-adaptive weighted ratios for low-frequency band. The other is to yield another weighted coefficients for high-frequency bands based on standard deviation. Lastly, the new intensity component created by implementing inverse WPA, matching with hue and saturation reserved, makes up a color composition. A fused image is produced when carrying out transformation from IHS to RGB for the composition. It turns out that the presented fusion strategy is effective with experiments.

  • Research and Modeling of Photovoltaic Array Channel Noise Characteristics

    摘要: The photovoltaic array can be used as a medium for carrier communication to realize monitoring of photovoltaic components. Photovoltaic array channel noise, especially the pulse-type noise therein, seriously interferes carrier communication, so it is necessary to grasp the characteristics of the photovoltaic array channel noise. Photovoltaic array channel noise modeling is a key process when conducting anti-noise immunity tests of monitoring equipment. Based on the time-domain waveform of photovoltaic series channel noise which is measured in a photovoltaic power station, this paper proposes a photovoltaic array noise modeling method of Wavelet Peak-Type Markov chain, and studies the in?uence on modeling accuracy when different mother wavelets are adopted for modeling. From the simulation results, root mean square errors of the predicted output for Haar, Biorthogonal and Daubechies wavelet-based function modeling case are 0.9614 V, 1.4915 V and 0.7928 V, respectively, validating that Daubechies wavelet-based function is the best wavelet-based function of modeling. In the case that the peak of original noise reaches 20 V, the predicted mean absolute error of this model is only 0.4926 V, which not only veri?es the applicability of the Wavelet Peak-Type Markov chain model to the photovoltaic array channel noise, but also veri?es the applicability to the pulse-type noise.

    摘要: Voice pathology correlates with vocal fold problems, so extracting valid features from the vocal fold excitation signal is helpful for classifying the normal and pathological voice. A novel feature extraction method which combines wavelet packet decomposition and nonlinear feature extraction is proposed in this paper. The original speech signals are firstly decomposed into 5 layers using wavelet packet-based method, and the high frequency signals which correlate with the vocal fold are reconstructed. Then nonlinear features are extracted from the reconstructed signals. Support Vector Machine is used to classify the normal and pathological voice using the nonlinear features. The proposed method and features are evaluated on the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary databases. The second-order renyi entropy features give very promising classification accuracy of 98.21%. The highest accuracy is 99.21% when the Hurst parameter and second-order renyi entropy features are combined. Experimental results show that the vocal fold excitation signal can express the pathological information about sound efficiently, which can be used for the automatic detection and classification of the pathological voice.

  • Nonlinear Ultrasonic Detection Method for Delamination Damage of Lined Anti-Corrosion Pipes Using PZT Transducers

    摘要: Lined anti-corrosion pipes are widely used in oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical industries. However, defects, especially delamination, may occur in the production and service of pipes which result in safety accidents. Based on nonlinear ultrasonic theory, this paper studied the delamination detection method using the nonlinear harmonics for lined anti-corrosion pipes. The response characteristics of the anti-corrosion pipe were obtained through a sweep sine response experiment and the preferred excitation frequency was determined. The Wavelet Packet transform and Hilbert–Huang transform is applied for signal process and feature extraction. Then, a series of experiments were carried out and the results were analyzed and discussed. The results showed that a second-order and third-order nonlinear coefficient increased with the delamination damage. The amplitude of second-harmonic is much stronger than the third-order one. The mean squared error of the nonlinear coefficient, which was processed by Wavelet Packet transform and Hilbert–Huang transform, is smaller than wavelet packet transform and Discrete Fourier transform or processed only Hilbert–Huang transform. The higher harmonics can describe the change of delamination damage, which means that the nonlinear ultrasonic detection method could use for damage detection of anti-corrosion pipe. The nonlinear higher-harmonic is sensitive to delamination damage. The nonlinear ultrasonic method has the potential for damage detection for lined anti-corrosion pipes.

  • An Optimal Wavelet Packets Basis Method for Cascade Hydro-PV-Pumped Storage Generation Systems to Smooth Photovoltaic Power Fluctuations

    摘要: Due to the volatility of natural resources, the power fluctuations of photovoltaic (PV) generation have serious negative impacts on the power quality. This paper reports a novel approach to resolve this problem in a combined cascade hydro-PV-pumped storage (CH-PV-PS) generation system through appropriate power distribution on a small time scale. According to the characteristics of power generation systems and multi-constraints, how to obtain the optimal smoothing effects with the small cost is a key challenge. For this purpose, wavelet packet decomposition is modified by constructing cost function and ideal power trajectory sequences to obtain a new adaptive power distribution method for the CH-PV-PS generation system considering the boundary conditions of the system in this paper. At the same time, to meet the real-time control requirements of actual systems, an additive function is presented to improve the optimization speed of the adaptive power distribution method. In the meantime, a fuzzy controller is designed to optimize the inevitable delay time of the power scheduling system, and the starting threshold is set to avoid the frequently mode conversion of pumped storage. Finally, the performance of the method is evaluated based on the PV station data in Xiaojin County, Sichuan Province, China. Simulation results based on Matlab-simulink indicate that the proposed method can effectively suppress PV power fluctuations and ensure normal operation of the CH-PV-PS generation system within the multiple constraints.

  • Laser Doppler Signal Denoising Based on Wavelet Packet Thresholding Method

    摘要: In laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV), calculation precision of Doppler shift is affected by noise contained in Doppler signal. In order to restrain the noise interference and improve the precision of signal processing, wavelet packet threshold denoising methods are proposed. Based on the analysis of Doppler signal, appropriate threshold function and decomposition layer number are selected. Heursure, sqtwolog, rigrsure, and minimaxi rules are adopted to get the thresholds. Processing results indicate that signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and root mean square error (RMSE) of simulated signals with original SNR of 0 dB, 5 dB, and 10 dB in both low- and high-frequency ranges are significantly improved by wavelet packet threshold denoising. A double-beam and double-scattering LDV system is built in our laboratory. For measured signals obtained from the experimental system, the minimum relative error of denoised signal is only 0.079% (using minimaxi rule). The denoised waveforms of simulated and experimental signals are much more smooth and clear than that of original signals. Generally speaking, denoising effects of minimaxi and saqtwolog rules are better than those of heursure and rigrsure rules. As shown in the processing and analysis of simulated and experimental signals, denoising methods based on wavelet packet threshold have ability to depress the noise in laser Doppler signal and improve the precision of signal processing. Owing to its effectiveness and practicability, wavelet packet threshold denoising is a practical method for LDV signal processing.

  • EMD- PNN based welding defects detection using laser-induced plasma electrical signals

    摘要: The plasma electrical signal has gained extensive attention for characterizing the behavior of the laser-induced plasma due to the advantages of easy acquisition and feedback control. In this paper, the electrical signals were measured by a passive probe based on the principle of plasma sheath effect. To explore the mutation characteristics of plasma electrical signals during defect generation in laser deep penetration welding, wavelet packet transform (WPT) and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) were used to compress data and extract features, respectively. Based on the analysis of the time-frequency spectrum of a typical plasma electrical signal, the approximate coefficients of 0?390 Hz frequency range were reconstructed. The residual term which characterizes the change trend of electrical signal was obtained by the further adaptive decomposition. For better identifying weld defects, another two statistical features, mean value and standard deviation, were extracted by carrying out statistical analysis in the time domain. The feature database is built with above features and used as inputs of the predictive model based on the probabilistic neural network (PNN). The result showed the average prediction accuracy was as high as 90.16% when recognizing five statuses of weld seam, including sound weld and four kinds of weld defects.
